Yeah the 4080 is a good gpu its just priced badly. Which seems to be a common problem with all of nVidia's cards these days. They are all way over expensive in my opinion but it is what it is unfortunately.
For first time buyers I'd say when it comes to the choice of getting a C2 or the C3 in the 42" is get which one is most available and cheaper. There doesn't seem to be much of a difference in the two models. Unless LG sneaks something in on the C3 we dont know about?
I've had my LG C2 4k 42inch since December. Very impressed and happy with it. I came from a 2560x1080p set up though so obviously its a huge difference for me. No complaints yet.
The 500w psu should be good enough for up to a 3080 or anything less performance. Maybe some of the low end 4xxx series but for a 3090 and 4080 on up your def going to need that 800w psu.
Yeah that 300w psu is a bit disappointing. They have a 500w they can put in there. Shouldn't be that much more expensive although size could be a factor and maybe that's one of the reasons they chose not to.
The good thing about getting a 4k tv or monitor is now that you have one and plan to stay with 4k gaming for a while is that now all you have to upgrade is the GPU. Not even the 4090 will play all games at 120Hz at 4k so you can start with something as low as a 3080 or whatever you can afford...
The Zotac one I got is doing fine and I have a Corsair cable set on the way. I may buy a right angle just to try it out and see how it looks. Thanks for the heads up.
So last night before the Steam Winter Sale ended I bought Cyber Punk 2077, God of War, and Doom Eternal. Three games I been wanting to try. This should hold me over for a while since I still have some games in my library yet to be installed. That plus I still play a few old games I been...
As far as new games go for me? Mount & Blade: Bannerlord. Although it was released last year as a beta version but this year it went gold. Since it went gold I been playing it every chance I get which almost every day.
I think it would be cool for LG to up the 120Hz to at least 144Hz but to be honest My 42" C2 should serve me well for a few years at least (knocks on wood). Have to wait And see what the manufacturers come out with.
Sorry to hear that. I know its a buggy game but I hear its playable now at least. I figure grab it at a discount and give it a go. I also hear there are quite a few mods now to enhance the gaming experience so maybe it wont be too bad.
Giving it to a indie studio could work. Gamers would play it if its fun. The DN sense of humor could work today if done properly I think. It is a game afterall and gamers as much fun as we make of them and at us know its just that a game. The naysayers would be mainly those who don't game or on...
I never understood why they just won't make a new DNF game or a sequal. I guess they dont want the backlash from all the politically correct and woke crowd in today's world. Which in my opinion all the more reason to make a new DN game lol.
Got a Zotac 4080 (failed to get a 7900xtx) and a LG C2 42" 4k tv this last week so right now checking out some older games to see how they look compared to 1080p gaming. Huge difference! Probably going to buy CyberPunk 2077 this weekend and give it a whirl. I have like over 30 games on my Steam...
What I did was go look at 4k TVs and stand in front of a 48" and a 43" to get an idea of what I thought felt best. Now granted its not quite the same as watching an actual game but it gives you an idea of what feels too big or too little for your situation. I also had a tape measure with me and...
After I was unable to get a 7900xtx I just said screw it and got a 4080. More than two years of waiting I got sick and tired of waiting to get a good gpu that can do decent 4k gaming. For me the 4080 is a good entry level 4k gaming gpu. From now on I can wait a generation or two before buying...
Personally I would pass on the 4xxx series if I had a 3090. Wait for the 5xxx series before buying again. Once you get to this stage start skipping a generation or maybe two I feel.
Shortage of 4080s at msrp? Yes. Shortage of 4080s at any price? No. The only 4080 I have seen where I would say there is a shortage is the FE at msrp. Out of Stock everywhere it seems. Cheapest 4080 I have seen so far is $1289.00. Most are like $1320 and up. Shortage of 4090s? At msrp? Yes. At...
Anyone using a extra monitor or two next to their LG C2 42"? Would love to see some setups to get some ideas. Maybe get some tips on best size and resolution to compliment the LG C2. Thinking of getting one extra myself for Discord and/or net surfing while gaming.
Just picked up the LG 42 C2 Evo 4k TV today at BB for $800. Got a 4080 coming in a couple of days. Finally making that leap from 1080p gaming to 4k gaming. Tried like heck to score a 7900xtx but no luck. Said screw it and not looking back. Finally joining the 4k gaming community.
Other than upgrading from a mechanical drive to a nvme or SSD I don't think it really matters much. Possibly more ram from like 16GB to 32GB but that's debatable. The game is far from being optimized properly IMHO due to its constant changes, additions, patches, and so forth. In short the latest...
