Hey all, thinking of getting a CX1. Have a 3080 to drive it. While it is my gaming box, I do a ton of work on it and I need razor sharp text - not only 444 obviously, but good IPS-like sharp text. Is the CX/CX1 good for this? I know the contrast alone will help, but without being able to see one...
900p/905ps are still ridiculous fast.Optane as storage freakin rocks and Samsung cannot touch them for low-qd random read performance. They are untouchable. I've got 3 and I dig 'em.
4x-6x 4K low-qd random read performance is very noticeable on an OS drive. Opening apps, surfing, mail, Windows updates, general usage etc. this is where my 900ps shine.
It is not noticeable for large block sequential workloads, whereas my 970 Pros are. 970’s sequential performance trumps the...
^^ Pretty freakin awesome random reads. Still pissed about Smeltdown patches. Kinda neutered my 3 900ps a bit. I can feel the difference from pre-patch days.
Fighting the patches is kinda pointless at this point.
That sucks. HGST are/were the superior drive, hands down, for home NAS. My drive of choice for 10 years now.
I can only hope WD took the HGST manufacturing and rolled it into their own behind the scenes.
I really do not want a large NAS built out of WD Reds. Probably over 100 HGST NAS drives...
LOL, ok man. Or you just look at my 75 screen from 11ft and realize the chart is BS, along with every other person that knows it's BS. But keep believing something else.
Wow you’re dense. Have you ever heard of A/B testing? I can take a static still native 4K image and it’s duplicate, exact 1080p counterpart and flip them back and forth with arrow keys on my HTPC and guess what...voila! A/B testing plain as day. “Look at all that lost detail in the 1080p!” Not...
LOL - Nah, no placebo here. Been doing this far too long for any placebo in this regard. Nice try though!
You can tell yourself what you are capable of seeing. You cannot tell someone else what they are capable of seeing.
The chart is well known to be BS.
“The Chart” is known to be BS, if you didn’t know. I sit 11ft from my 75 and can clearly, easily see 1080 vs 2160. Clear as day, and my eyesight isn’t perfect...
That chart has been circling for years and is long debunked...
LOL
You could not be any more wrong about movies and TV content. Night and day difference from 1080p content to native UHD on my 75.
I told you they would come in here!
No, why would I? I bought a 2080 TI for 2160p performance, not RT. It delivers on performance!
I suppose I should at least experiment with RT, but I’m not expecting much.
The card has had hundreds of sleep/wake events. A few of those wakes resulted in a black screen until a driver update fixed it, then no more wake problems.
Remember the FTW3 is a different beast.
Ive has my 2080 TI since they were first shipping pre-orders - no issues, other than the crappy PX1 software. As soon as I finally uninstalled PX1, I’ve been fine.
