In theory it should be safe if you get a newer batch, but who knows.
For what it's worth, when I contacted Alpenfohn, they told me that it was 1 in 10 that had issues (which they stated as only causing a difference of 2-3C), way higher than the 1 in 100 that Overclockers UK stated above.
If Overclockers UK is affected by these manufacturing issues, someone REALLY should be talking to them at this point. I mean, their site still lists 4 in stock despite the probably issues.
If I have to send it back as a return (and therefore have to pay return shipping), there's pretty much no...
Damn. Literally just removed my LP53 from my board to put this on. Only checked here because I was considering a 120mm fan and wanted to see if there were any other recommendations other than the Noctua (hate the brown colored ones).
Looks like I'll be redoing the LP53 for now, though I...
Picked up my case from the post office today (US). It went out for delivery Thursday, but I hadn't been home to get it. This was the second black shipment, which I think might have been the third shipment overall.
Case looks great, and the packaging is very well thought out too.
...And how would you power the monitor then? Until GPUs get USB-C out, this monitor is unfortunately not viable for anything other than integrated graphics.
Do you have any extra room in the 24pin and 8pin wires? My board's positions aren't quite the same as the Strix, but based on the pictures at least it looks like you probably have enough give for at least another 15-20mm, is that correct?
For what it's worth, I'm not really in the market for another new case (backed the Sentry and I have a A4-SFX now - after ditching my Silverstone ML07 which did have optical support), but I thought the same thing, that having a Blu-ray drive built into the PC would be great... until I tried any...
I'm sure managing the logistics of all this is miserable and I think you handled it well overall, but I think this would be where you could theoretically run into problems again. If the first case starts shipping to Germany one day and US four weeks later (just making up estimates here of...
I'm impressed then that you were able to bend the PSU wires to actually connect to the HDDs in the cage. They're right-angle connectors and they're in the wrong direction (and too stiff) so despite my best efforts I wasn't able to make it work that way.
So I unexpectedly ended up with time last evening to transfer my system to the A4-SFX. Asrock Z87E, i7-4770S with LP53 (had stock fan, upgraded it last night to the Noctua), SF600 (new in box waiting for this build), two SSDs, GTX970 (for now). Some thoughts (some of which is repeating what...
Is it difficult to change the feet after building the PC? Like if I decide to switch them after the fact, will I have to remove the motherboard, GPU, and PSU to get to them again?
Honestly, I'd even pay a dollar or two and shipping if it worked, but oh well. I guess copper wire is another option, or maybe a 3D printed bracket out of ABS.
I don't know about other keyboards, but my Vortex Pok3r RGB doesn't use any software for configuring the lighting but instead has key combinations to customize the lighting.
It was sent via Kickstarter email. Don't have it right in front of me at the moment but it said Dan would do the EU first from most backers to least, and then non-EU from most backers to least. So if memory serves, the US was at the top (or near the top) of the non-EU section, but it still...
I've mentioned this already, but the problem with that USB-C screen is that I highly doubt anyone with this case plans on using the onboard GPU, and so you're not going to be able to get any video over USB-C that way. It's unfortunate though, because it'd be very convenient for travel that way...
I'll be transplanting an older i7-4770 system into this case (with an mSATA boot drive and two 2.5" SSDs), so it doesn't really affect me, but I don't know. If it was me, I'd rather have an external Thunderbolt 3 port than a second M.2 port.
A little amusing, I was just reading an article about Gigabyte's new Brix units that include a GTX1070 / GTX1080, which use a custom FlexATX PSU... and yet at 276mm x 384mm x 128mm the Brix is bigger in all dimensions (slightly different orientation though).
Funny that even a custom system is...
I assume you mean shorter length cards. Half height is something entirely different.... and sort of would defeat the purpose of using a riser to get a smaller case in the first place.
Honestly, next to no protection from Kickstarter. You're not explicitly buying a case, you're funding a project. The campaign must make 'every reasonable effort' to deliver on all rewards, but stuff happens all the time where projects have trouble.
From what I understand, your two best options would be the Cryorig C7 (fits stock) and the Cooltek/Thermolab LP53 which requires a slimmer Noctua fan. Someone else might be able to provide more info on that though.
Has it sold out yet? I'm pretty sure there's about 600 cases left right now. :D I'll be the first to admit that it's sold faster than I expected, but my point still stands that there wasn't going to be any panic to be in the first group. People were acting as if they'd miss the window if they...
I'm amazed by all the people who think 1500 cases are going to sell that quickly to cause problems. There were only 907 backers during the M1 Indiegogo, for a run of something like 600 cases (according to TechReport). It took about a week for those to be sold. This case is even more of a...
Damn. At some point in the next 7 days or so, I guess I'm going to have to decide if I want this or the Sentry. :D Leaning towards this, but I keep going back and forth over which form factor would work better for me.
Looks nice for a second system, but I'd like it better if it didn't have a skull logo on it.
But honestly I don't need that much power anyway in the use case I'm looking for, so I'll probably get a Compute Stick instead.
Yeah, I'm liking the look of the Node 202 far more than my ML07.
The one thing I would say though is that it would be nice if the 202 had actual feet like the Core 500 appears to. Instead, it just appears to have rubber pads in the photos (I assume because it has to be able to be used...
Well for one, it has a brand and isn't just some no-name thing out of a Chinese factory. I mean, obviously Zotac isn't HP or anything, but there's ostensibly some customer support there. And also, Windows is already included / pre-loaded on the PI320. Personally though, I had one of those on...
I know you already made a choice, but for those considering the PI320, I'd highly recommend using wired ethernet for any use of it, but especially with Steam Streaming. My wifi performance has been terrible with it.
The SFX-L wouldn't have made sense for me due to my Silverstone case basically being designed for an 80mm fan there. Still, the PSU is definitely far quieter than the 450W one. (I had a v1.1 model).
It also (again, no idea why) did fix my issue with noise over the speakers, so I'm very...
Oops, look like I misspoke when I said Tuesday. :D
FrozenCPU sent two partial shipments, and I suspect that the portion coming tomorrow is the fans I ordered, and the PSU itself won't be arriving until the end of the week.
I'm aware it shouldn't, but it does. :D I really can't explain it myself, but it's not a 60Hz ground loop hum, it doesn't happen with another PSU connected, and it still happens with everything else except the PC and speakers disconnected from the receiver.
If I hadn't modded the original...
Ordered from FrozenCPU myself earlier today. Should be here Tuesday apparently.
450W is actually enough power for my system (just a 4770 and a GTX780), but it is out of warranty and causes buzzing over my speakers at load, so I figured I might as well wait for the 600W one for the better fan...
Yeah, I picked up the ML07, but this looks really nice. Still though, I'm not sure it's worth it to upgrade. The ML07, despite being plasticy, blends in with my other devices on my rack really well.
The FTZ01 is definitely along the lines of what I was imagining / hoping for as a nicer...
Just finished my build (well, really just moved my build to the new case):
i7-4770S (Noctua LH-9 cooler), GTX 780, Z87E-ITX, 16GB RAM, 256GB Plextor mSATA, 1TB Crucial 2.5".

Main thought is I really like the layout, but it's ridiculous how much of a rat's nest...
