So i put together this computer and the first time i try to turn it on everything works. It enters into the bios, and everything seems to be working properly. I put in the xp disk and it fails to read it so i restart the computer with the disk inside it. this is when the problems began. He cd...
I have tried to reset it a few times and nothing changes. I also fooled around with the CMOS to see if i could change something but also nothing happened. the motherboard must be defective or something..
any other comments or help?
I tried running it on with onboard graphics and the most basic parts and still the monitor stays on standby. Also when i do not plug in th IDE cables my harddrive and cd drive function perfectly fine, but once they are plugged into the motherboard they cease to function.
I think i should...

I double checked the processor it is seated correctly. the only thing i can think of right now is that it is a faulty motherboard unless anyone else can help me or perhaps suggest something?
I recently put together a computer but there seems to be a problem with the motherboard. The CD drive and Harddrive do not work. the bios will not show up and the monitor goes into standby. I tried a new powersource, nothing happened. I tried to use different molexes, same results. I tried a...
I have tried different molex's with no luck, i also tried to use a different monitor and still it goes into standby mode. could the motherboard be having problems? or perhaps the harddrive and cd-r are both dead? the harddrive makes no sounds and has no signs that its working, is this normal?
yeah i double checked, the reset and power switch are in the right place. I don't hear any beeps but i have some cheap speakers plugged into the back onboard sound jack.
the keyboard top lights also light up when it starts.
bios came up first time everything was plugged in, but when i put...
I have recently put together a new computer. Everything is plugged but when turned on the monitory just goes to standby/power save. All the fans are working for the cpu fan, case fan, video card fan. The CD-R doesn't open or turn on. I Don't hear the harddrive spinning either.
I hooked up the...

I own a Antec SuperLanboy. It is very sturdy. It does feel a bit flimsy, but it was made like that to be light for easy travel. Personally i think it's a great case.
On my antec superlanboy i put both of the 2 120mm fans to blow air out. This way the dust can barley get in and any dust that does get in gets blown out. Right now looking at i have some dust (very little) building up on my zalman amd 64 heatsink. Temps are pretty good i guess, 36C cpu...
happened to me too, but only one of them. I currently have only 3 in to hold the fan in and it's fine, 2 on top one on bottom.
my question is how do you take them out without breaking them?
I currently own a Antec SuperLanboy and I am very happy with it. It's quiet, nice, very light for travel :)
My friend has a lian-li and i like it a lot. I was going to get a lian-li but it was over $100 and the SuperLanboy was on sale at compusa for $40 at the time so I had to grab it.
