    Good Website Developer Software?

Agreed, Dreamweaver is the way to go. Although, if you're really looking to learn and do a great job, fire up notepad (or notepad2) and take some tutorials. :D

    2006 Post Your Workstation

My dad's been using that same exact trackball for the last 5 years (at least) and still loves it. It's definitely fun to play with but would take some getting used to if someone wanted to make a switch (especially if they game too) although I hear it can be pretty accurate once you get it down.

    2006 Post Your Workstation

I believe I bought the table about 3 years ago at WalMart for about $120. Good price at the time as it's pretty sturdy, unfortunately it's a little trashed from all my moves and I'm not sure if it'll last another. lol.. Sad as it's pretty nice. I definitely like being able to run WinXP and...

    2006 Post Your Workstation

Just recently replaced my large P160 PC with a new MacBook Pro.. Dual booting Mac OSX and Windows XP (for the games).. Definitely loving it. BF2, HL2DM, and WoW are my games of choice.

    2006 Post Your Workstation

Very nice setup. I was wondering what desk that is (possibly some linkage :D). I'm in the market for a new desk and I like the look of it. I think it'd look awesome with one of Ikea's cable racks to go along with it.

    BSOD on XP Install

heh.. I tested each stick individually and then tried to install Windows with the one stick that was found to be "good." I'm planning on testing some PC3200 RAM that I know is good in the comp and seeing if that's the problem. I kinda hope it is as RAM's cheap and I hate RMAing components. heh

    BSOD on XP Install

Sorry, late reply/update. Well, I ran memtest and found that 2 of the 3 sticks were showing a lot of errors on test 5 (I tested each stick seperately). There was one that I ran for 9.5 hours that showed no errors. I tried running Windows XP setup again and recieved the "PFN_LIST_CORRUPT"...

    BSOD on XP Install

So, I finally got around to building my girlfriend a computer. Everything is new except the RAM, Power Supply, and DVD drive, all of which are old parts I had "lying around" from an old computer. So, I booted the comp and tried installing Windows XP SP2. It got past the "Installing Network"...

    Asus A7N8X Deluxe problem

Appendum: When I have everything hooked up, it keeps trying to spin up the empty cd rom drive and that's where it's stuck at with nothing showing on the screen. Any thoughts?

    Asus A7N8X Deluxe problem

Alright, so my girlfriend has an Asus A7N8X Deluxe motherboard, AMD Athlon XP 2100+, ATI Radeon 9800 Pro, and a 200GB Maxtor hard drive. I hooked everything up and the computer turned on. It was slow passing the post screen, and there was some beeping sound that seemed to be coming from the...

    Got a new x2 4400.. 64 bit xp? or 32?

I personally have been using x64 for a while. The only problems I initially had was with my printer drivers but they have since been updated. Now, my only issue, is the lack of x64 drivers for my web cam, so it just sits there and stares at me, but no one's watching. It's very sad. ;)

    Antec P180 Case good?

I've actually had mine since it was officially released, and I have to say I'm extremely satisfied with it. My personal preference is a for a simple, look with no windows, blinking lights, spinners, underglow, hydraulics, and all that. ;) My previous case was a GMC Neo Classic which was...

    Where to get Longhorn?

I believe that Beta 2 has been pushed to sometime in 2006, although I don't recall the actual time frame now. I'm not sure if that pushes back the other dates or not.

    Black Friday!!!!!

I worked at McDonalds for a while and remember the Best Buy bucks. They would also be on the chicken strips. Whenever a box "fell", the BB Bucks came off. They weren't usually sequential because we didn't take them from every box. I know a friend had about $60 worth of BB Bucks and actually...

    disabling services to boost performance

Not too mention performance isn't everything. Security becomes an issue at times. Why would the average professional user want Remote Registry running (pre-SP2, I know)? There's just some services that are just a waste to have running if you're a security nut. There's a lot of people that...

    disabling services to boost performance

I've been disabling my services for a while, and it helps when you don't have much RAM to start with. Each service takes up oh so much RAM (Hell, the print spooler service takes up 5MB, so if you don't have a printer, it's actually just a waste of RAM) that could be going toward something like...

    Multiple Machine Windows Image

uuuummmm... It sounds like you want to use the same install CD on multiple machines that would install the same software and drivers on all of them. If that's the case, then making an unattended cd would deffinately do the trick, assuming you're running XP with corporate licenses, otherwise...

Easiest way to copy XP boot CD?

uuummm... I don't really know how I even got it. I'll send it to you, though (check your PMs). As for my cdimage line, it looks like the following: CDIMAGE.EXE -lAIODVD -t08/23/2001,09:00:00 -bD:\Projects\AIO-DVD\CDSH\loader.bin -h -j1 -o -m D:\Projects\AIO-DVD D:\AIO-DVD.iso Just replace...

Easiest way to copy XP boot CD?

uuummmm... I don't recall but when creating a bootable dvd, the boot sector file used for booting from a CD is different. I use a different boot file, at least, when creating a Windows CD and a Windows DVD.

    Daemon Tools on Windows x64?

Try FileDisk. It works with x64 and works well. I've never really had a problem with it reading any image file (as long as it's an iso or bin/cue file, any other file you might as well convert, eh). It's small and works. That's all that matters, really.

Easiest way to copy XP boot CD?

Booting off a DVD requires no drivers per say. If you're comp can boot from CD from a DVD drive, then it can boot from a DVD. The DVD drive is what really makes the difference between a data CD and a data DVD. Drivers aren't needed to boot from a DVD.

Easiest way to copy XP boot CD?

uuummm... I've never personally tried cd to dvd copy but it's possible... I would personally rip it to ISO or to your PC and just use cdimage and a dvd boot file to create the ISO. That's what I did when my unattended installation became a tad too large for an actual CD (heh... 1.4GB I think...

    Custom Slipstreaming...

nLite's good but doesn't really slipstream applications, just hotfixes and service packs (plus various tweaks). For silent installs and such, the Unattended guide mentioned above is a good start and for more information, the Application Installs forum at MSFN deffinately has some good...

    Who uses 64bit XP?

I believe my current version is 6.6.0.15 (which is actually one step down from the latest, which I believe is 6.6.0.16) although I can't be positive as I'm currently back home from the 'ol apartment with laptop and not the desktop. heh... But I did burn a DVD and such before heading back home...

    updates released after SP2

I'd deffinately recommend nLite for the integration. Works great and has some awesome features. For me, I run a virtual machine (with VMWare), install my copy of XP, and just take a look at Windows Update to see what I need to get. Then I just download the hotfixes with...

    Who uses 64bit XP?

After installing the latest version of Nero, I haven't had any prolems. I was getting an "Unknown Burn Phase" error (probably due to the way I installed Nero, using a silent installer) but I just uninstalled and reinstalled with a new version and Nero runs no problem. I would deffinately try...

    Who uses 64bit XP?

heh.. I've read that before but never paid any attention as I have yet to run into any problem. I install the .NET framework silently anyway so the error doesn't show. heh... As for the drive emulation, I suggest FileDisk (fdtray). It's small, lightweight, and works really well for me...

    Who uses 64bit XP?

I'm personally running x64 full time. I haven't had any problems with any of my games, albeit I haven't had time to play many games lately (heh). I have started having problems with Nero, getting some error about and Unknown Burn Phase, but that's probably not directly due to x64 version...

    Ymk's latest.

Wow, I like it. Just some criticism from someone who probably shouldn't be giving it (;)), her brow to nose dip is weird. I don't know what to call it but to me, it seems like it's too defined.. It almost looks like her nose was going to keep going and she'd have a handle on her head. ;)...

    Antec P180

Yup, you can pull the hard drive cages completely out by just unscrewing a thumb screw on each one. As for the weight, I have no problem with it. My GMC Neo Classic was just about as heavy and I brought that bad boy to many LAN parties. I might get annoyed if I went to a LAN party a day...

    Antec P180

I would think it's still a tiny bit bright from coming out the vents on the side by the door (heh, I don't know how to say it). I can at least see my HD light going at night on my p180. The power led is a bit bright for me but it's not as bad as my GMC Neo Classic's power led so I'm...

Antec P180 Picture Thread (Not 56k friendly)

If I could get my camera back, I'd take some pics. My current wire management ain't that great. I found it tough to hid the wires. For instance, the front firewire has to run all the way to the back of the case as that's where the header is located on my DFI LanParty board. It's just a bit...

    Antec P180

After a rough measurement, the door has about 3/4" clearance between the door and the drive bays. I would think there would be plenty of room. As for routing cables behind the motherboard try. If you're talking about power cables, I would say no as the door's designed to sit extremely tight...

    Antec P180

True, I was just trying to see if there was a way to control the second HD LED that the case comes with as I don't believe, after looking at my manual, that my DFI LanParty SLI board supports the second LED.

Maybe a newbish question, but is it possible to have HD1 only blink with my primary hard drive and HD2 blink with the slave? Like, to connect them directly to the hard drive or something?
