Update:
I took all of my storage drives out of the case and connected them directly to the SATA cables on the MOBO and connected each to SATA power cables from my PSU.
Doing this, I was able to get all of my drives recognized by the BIOS and boot to windows quickly and all worked great. When I...
So actually, given that I couldnt get the drives spinning on power up, the other day i tried disconnecting the SATA power cable from the hot swap board, and connected the SATA adapter I bought to the hot swap board, powering the board from a wall outlet (which isnt a great idea but I had to...
So since I got the
I do have boot set to UEFI, but I believe I have Launch CSM ENABLED. Thats how it always was before when everything was working, but I will try disabling that this afternoon.
Update:
I ordered a powered SATA 3 to USB adapter so that I could plug my two hard disk drives into my computer as an external hard drive, and both HDDs opened up and read perfectly fine. So its not a hardware issue with my HDDs.
That leaves only two options as I see it.
1. There is a BIOS...
I have gotten my pc to boot consistently (at least for the last couple of hours). Only Drive I have connected at this time is my M.2. Ran CHDSK which has found no errors, here are the results of my scans. If there is something I should search for in the log file of my sfc scan I am happy to...
I did make sure fast boot didnt suddenly enable itself somehow. It is disabled. Also checked for a bios firmware update, as well as all my disks and they are all up to date
Windows 10 and up to date. For the last week, I hit the power button on my pc and it wont boost past the spinning circles on my BIOS splash screen.
My OS is on my NVME m.2 card on my mobo.
If I shut the power off, and disconnect my hot swap SATA drives (2) HDDs, (1) SDD then turn it back on...
The only thing I can think of that possibly could have caused this, is I put a program directly into the windows startup folder hoping i could get it to open on startup correctly. I couldnt, and deleted it out of the folder after about a week. Perhaps that could be causing the error somehow?
Update: today turned on my pc, it booted up and about 2 minutes later I got the blue screen saying "Your device ran into a problem and needs to restart." The stop code was "SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION". I forgot to mention that I have gotten this a few times over the last month as well. Only within...
Didnt have any suspicion of a drive, though it could be I suppose. My OS is on a Samsung 980 Pro NVME SSD gen 4 installed about 8 months ago. Though I have 2 HDDs and 1 M4 Crucial SSD that is 12 years old. I pulled that out yesterday and will see if there are any differences.
After you...
Preface: I'm sadly reaching an age where I have less desire to fix this stuff on my own for hours to prove that I don't need help :(
For the last month, when I boot up my pc (I have the latest version on Windows 10), windows will startup, but when I move my mouse it will freeze every few...
So Ill make a boot usb, and install windows on the new nvme with all other drives disconnected.
At what point should Ibe wiping my old SSD? And when all complete, how do I activate windows? With old key?
Alright, so I purchased a Samsung 980 Pro 1tb M.2 NVME SSD for my existing system, and want to make it the drive for my OS because my current SSD is almost 10 years old. I currently have an M4 Crucial 256gb SSD with windows 10 installed, and two Seagate HDDs for file storage and programs that...
Okay, so I officially have everything working now, including all three drives.
What ended up working was switching the SATA cables from SATA6G_Ports 1, 2, and 3 on my motherboard to SATA6G_Ports 4, 5, and 6. Really pretty strange... Is it possible that these ports are damaged? Is there any way...
So the system recognized the HDDs after i got the new PSU hooked up and up until power cycled my SSD abd i swapped the SATA cables around. The HDDs worked too, as when i got it to boot early on they still showed booted with the SSD. If there is a corrupted bootloader on them, how can I solve...
Update:
Swapped out the sata cables to my sata controller board in my corsair 800d case and my computer stopped recognizing the SSD, then both HDDs after another reset. I power cycled the SSD twice and reinstalled just that drive. Couldnt get past the BIOS screen. After messing around a bit, i...
TRAVM:
I have had issues with my M4 Crucial SSD a couple times before where it would stop being recognized by the system, and thus I couldn't boot windows. The solution to this was I would take it out and power cycle it by connecting it to SATA power only and not SATA data for 20 minutes once or...
I'm gunna hit you with it all because I'm pulling my hair out going on a week now. System specs will be at the bottom.
One week ago I was gaming for a few hours, and my pc shut off as if the power had gone out. But no lights or anything else in the house went off. I hit the power button to fire...
I know man. All non-essential businesses are closed until April 7th in MA. I'm working from home, hopefully will have enough billable hours to get paid through that time. Hope you fare well
So, I really just need the screen. No cracks and no delamination. The rest of the laptop can be toast.
Girlfriends Mid 2014 Macbook Pro has a cracked screen and I just want to swap it out. Looking to spend as little as possible, since we don't use it too intensively, and I don't like macs...
Having an issue where my oculus quest can only see my chromecast ultra if its on my 2.4ghz channel of my router, and not if i set everything up on my 5ghz channel... Anyone else experience this? I am able to see the chromecast ultra and cast youtube from my phone on the 5ghz channel though...
I'll reach out to them, the funny thing though is I think I purchased in in June of 2012 if I remember correctly.
I got it to turn on again and then had sort of an epiphany as to what the cause might be...
I have been using wifi outlets for everything in my office for about 6 months so that...
Gentleman. I believe my psu has died after 6 years..
I really dont want to get into re doing all my cables with the purchase of a new power supply, and i need the same slots for my hardware.
I dont know much about pinouts, but maybe someone can tell me if a new Corsair psu can be installed...
Sorry for the late response. Lets say my budget is $600 for the sake of setting a value. (Im sort of trying to figure out what my budget should be based on this thread)
Looking for suggestions on components for upgrading my speaker setup.
Right now, have a 10-ish years old logitech 5.1 system with the volume/power knob on the center speaker that mounts to the bottom of my monitor. I get white-noise from the center speaker when there is no audio playing and one...
Anyone know if the hybrid cooler can be removed?
I already havre a custom water-cooled build and I want to buy an EKWB water-block and swap in this card for my old ones.
I assume it can be removed just as easily as a fan cooler would but, want to be sure before purchasing.
Thanks
Thabks for looking into it. Were you looking at cards by the same mfr? I.E. both EVGA?
Unfortunately, i think eyeballing it is going to be the only way i can make a decision other than finding someone whose actually done it.
I dont think EKWB will tell me (if i can even get them to acknowledge...
I currently have 2 EVGA Gtx 670 gpus running in SLI which are watercooled using EK Waterblocks (I built the rig 6 years ago).
When I got around to cooling my cards only 2-3 years ago, it was hard to find blocks for the 670s because the 900 series cards were most current. Due to the fact that...
