The pricing is complete insanity at every tier, but especially so at this level!
I remember thinking about buying a 1070Ti at $400 and scoffing at how expensive it was. We were all so innocent then! Now look where we are.
I paid $64 for the 10-year warranty on my 3080Ti before the price changes, so I'd rather keep it IF it means something. There doesn't seem to be clear communication from EVGA if there is an option to keep the extended warranty and if they plan on supporting it.
If their plan is to only support...
Any word on extended warranties? I have read conflicting stories from people that have contacted customer support, with some being told to ask for refunds because EVGA has no intention to offer support beyond the standard 3 year warranty.
Corsair Vengeance 32GB DDR4 Kit (4x8GB) 3600Mhz CL16.
I purchased this kit for a new build that never happened. Brand new and still sealed from Corsair. Color is Black.
Asking $125 shipped. Sold
It seems like there is definitely some luck involved as to whether you get a good panel or not. I've also seen reports of monitors developing scanlines later on, but who knows.
Sadly the scaling trick didn't work for me. I also tried changing to 144Hz and 120Hz, changing the black equalizer...
I know I couldn't. The screen tearing was horrendous!!!
I suppose if one were to sit far enough away, the scanlines may never be an issue. For me though I'm within arms length and it was just too much.
Just imagine every other line of pixels being about 20% darker. It's completely unacceptable...
I decided to order the 27" G7 from Amazon after returning several other models and fully expected to hate the curve, but I actually like it.
What I don't l like though are the obvious scanlines. It looks similar to interlacing, at least to me, and happens mostly on certain oranges and blues...
I recently bought a Dell S2721DGF from Best Buy and along with some atrocious backlight bleed, there were what looked like 7 or so stuck green subpixels when viewing darker content.
After zooming in with my camera it seems like the tiny dots are about 1/3 the size of the subpixels themselves...
5800X3D, if I can find one. I did buy a 12700K but the DDR4 board I want doesn't exist in the U.S. at all.
Instead of dumping $350 into DDR5 + Mobo, I'll get a nice X570 board to use with my existing 4x8GB DDR4 kit. It makes sense in my head. :ROFLMAO:
Does anyone have problems with fan noise at idle? And how about coil whine and other noises?
I currently have a Define 7 and I'm debating whether to dump $80 into Noctua fans, or just grab the Torrent instead. I watch a lot of content on my PC which is why I've always preferred silence-focused...
Pretty clear that the IHS is bending, and will likely get worse as time goes on.
The article also shows the differences between washer thickness.
I agree with Dan_D on the Aorus Pro DDR4, but it is still nonexistent in North America and Europe. I would already be running one if I could find it.
You could always grab a few cheaper 4800 DDR5 sticks until higher speeds are released, and then you could have a solid platform with a Z690 DDR5...
I'm thinking of going with the Aorus Master to pair with my 12700K, although I understand that this combo is a bit lopsided.
It seems like a very solid choice for the money, and it actually has decent on-board audio which I need, but it stinks having to pay more for the motherboard than I did...
IgorsLab will have an updated article soon where they tested different boards and the different socket makes. The Lotes does appear to apply less pressure from what I've read, but that could vary wildly between boards since the tolerances that Intel specify are not that precise.
What a mess...
