I know LCDs can suffer from it but typically only visible when FPS has large swings either due to GPU not keeping up or a loading screen that may take fps down into 20s-30s, I recall it very well from the original PG278Q that i had, but in most instances it was never a bother. On my C2 I can be...
Question for anyone that has had a recent LG OLED TV and used Gsync and then got this ultrawide, is the flickering exactly the same when framerate fluctuates? I recently got a C2 I had a CX for almost two years and swore off gsync and just used vsync and dealt with the extra lag, but really want...
What is with all this worry for the GPU in a 90 degree orientation? The card wont overheat and fail no matter what orientation you put it in as long as the hot air around it the card is producing gets moved away which is what the bottom intake fans are doing. Take a look at the sl600m case its...
I'm on an XB240H that i plasti dipped matte black because the glossy bezels and stand weren't doing it for me, also removed the AR coating so now its a sweet glossy 144hz gsync monitor. The color accuracy is very good too, not sure what Acer did to tune it this well but its a gem. Am i content...
Pretty sure HDMI 1 is the only HDMI 2.0 port the other two are HDMI 1.4, so you'll only get 60hz 4k on the first HDMI input. So you're saying you got UHD Color, Game Mode, and 60hz working @ 4k with a custom resolution in NVCP? Or did you also need to swap the cable at some point to get it to...
The new Deus Ex is a very very poorly optimized PC port so its not surprising. People with a single 1080 @1080p were only getting like 60fps with max settings and it fluctuated a lot. The game looks good, but not that good, and @ 1080p a 1080 should crush it and get high fps on a high end rig.
I think PC Mode is the only way to get 4:4:4 aka the UHD Color option to turn on, but i seem to recall reading somewhere that by some fluke they got 4:4:4 and game mode working together.
Considering the KU6300 can be had right now for $418 new w/shipping on ebay, and this philips will not be any less than $600, i'm just not quite sure the philips will be that much better to justify the price, especially if its lacking freesync.
Are you referring to the Philips BDM4037UW ? Looks like a nice display, any word on freesync being supported? If it has freesync and comes in at a good price it will be an instant buy.
I've been looking for a 40" 4k display that i could make my monitor until we got some OLEDs @ 40" and i think this will just about do it for me. I'm also glad its VA for better blacks. My 144hz TN looks like garbage and IPS looks better but the glow ruins blacks. For $450 its not a terrible...
I had pretty bad banding/gradients on my VG248QE a couple years ago when i owned one. After buying a i1 display pro and calibrating the screen it greatly reduced or eliminated those issues for me in areas where i noticed them before. One particular spot i always saw it was on the CS:GO load...
I have seen that same phenomena shown in the CSGO video with the overshoot looking effect on the GW2470H that i tested some time ago. I don't think VA will ever have fast enough pixel responsiveness when compared to IPS and TN. IPS has gotten close to TN with the new AHVA 144hz panels, but its...
The prices for the XB240H dont really make sense out there for "new" ones. Its discontinued and replaced by the XB241H which adds in HDMI and sells for $350-400 new. I'm sure that replacing the panel won't be harder than plugging in all the necessary cables from the controller board and snapping...
I recently ordered a replacement panel for my cracked xb240h, should have it in a week or two. Cost me about $27 for the panel, and i'm sure shipping will be another $30-40 from china. Well worth it to fix the damn thing and sell it now that i have this xb271hu in front of me.
Yes dual link dvi is very much capable of delivering 144hz just fine @ 1080p, but being that this is a chinese monitor and its overall quality is questionable we cant rule out the possibility that the DVI port may somewhat defective as unlikely as it may be, or the cable is simply to blame. Cant...
Damn, that put me off the monitor because i know i would be running it that low of a brightness and i just want to avoid PWM displays altogether. I run my display at 80 nits which is 9 brightness for me. I'm using an XB241H which is indeed a TN, but I got a real keeper as you can see here from...
Try lower than 20 and see if its still PWM free. The FG2421 has some PWM below 20% brightness only as pointed out in the TFT Central review of that monitor. I know they dont use the same panel, but still couldn't hurt to be sure.
Are you using the monitor with DVI or DisplayPort? I reckon you can get 144hz working without frame skipping if it is indeed frame skipping by the sound of it, by using a shorter cable like 3 feet short. I know when i had my korean monitor i was able to get 100hz over a 5ft cable on the...
That's one of the new LG OLED panels with HDR looks like its curved a little bit, but again hard to see. The model # for the curved one is
OLED55C6P
in other words its a $3,000 display, and while its great for multimedia things, being that its a TV it does have 30-40ms worth of lag in "game...
Where else is there for a similar price? I mean i can try with them anyways and see if they'll ship or not, if not i dont really care to wait for the money back. Strange for them to refuse to ship to US when they're offering it there.
I'm in the states, it looks like i can order one from Order by HKC X3 23.5 established sharp PVA LCD 144Hhz monitor LCD computer screen 24 for $260 shipped which seems reasonable.
I have an i1 display pro and can calibrate the screen to give me 2.2 gamma. Using Nvidia control panel overwrites any icc profile applied so i cannot do that and it's also again not recommended to use those settings there unless again you have no OSD to work with and no calibration device...
I'm a little confused what you mean by the OSD settings being reset when the monitor powers off/sleeps. Like the custom set RGB sliders change to their default values as well as brightness settings and all that? If the monitor just defaults to a different color preset and changing it back to...
Got a IBM C220P today, owner said he hasn't powered it up in 2 years or so and its just been sitting. Luckily i brought it home and it fired up nicely. I have an i1 dispaly pro for calibrating but up until now i've only had LCDs and have always calibrated them to 2.2 when it came to gamma. What...
I have an opportunity to pick up a IBM ThinkVision C220P for less than $100, supposedly not much use on it, has been sitting in storage. Is this a good one to grab? I haven't used a CRT since the early 2000s, but over the past year have been looking for a display to satisfy me with good blacks...
I'm interested in the 25xw, but also the 25vx due to it being black and fitting in a bit better with the multimedia setup. Do we know if the 25vx also uses PWM at <100% brightness? It's $150 @ bestbuy right now and i can get it locally, may be its worth it just getting both the 25vx and xw and...
So is the only difference between the 25XW and 25CW being color? Also how is the glow on these? There seems to be very little info on them around the web.
They didn't really make a mention of the coating of the GW2470H did they? I think they said matte, but does that mean matte or does it mean semi-glossy like the ew2740l/ew2750zl? It's a bit hard to tell from the pictures how thick the coating is.
I suppose if i were to get one and not be...
The EW2750ZL is a marked improvement over the EW2740L, so i think its safe to say that these new 24" monitors are better than previous entries like the EW2440L, the GW2470H is already better just from having vesa mounts, a lack of a hideous glossy backside, and fairly slim matte bezels that...
I'm really interested in just a single semi in depth to in depth review of either one of these monitors, but looks like not a single soul has one, and that makes it difficult for me to justify purchasing one and being the guinea pig >.< It's understandable though, not many people are interested...
