I've been on USMobile for over a year now. I switched from Verizon. My intent was to use the T-mobile sim, but it just didn't work out well. They told me I should really use the Verizon one for my area, so that's what I'm using. There is some definite de-prioritization going on. It's fine...
I would add i7-2700k. I bought three of them to get one that would hold 4.8 at anywhere from 1.344 to 1.356 volts using offset of +.005 in the voltage setting. Not earth-shattering, but a good, solid chip. Back when I used to go on overclock.com, that chip was in the Sandy stable club which...
I bought an i7-930 and it was a dog. The standard voltage required for it to run at stock was more than most people with i7-920s could use for 4.0 GHz. I could never get it stable at 4.0 GHz at any voltage I was comfortable with. In those days, it seemed like the first silicon put out by...
I should have pulled the trigger this morning. I was waiting till I got home to consider that there are a lot of complaints about a constant 60 Hz hum whether it's outputting anything or not. Oh well, I guess that decision was made for me.
Difference is that you can offset capital gains on one stock with a capital loss on another. You can also carry forward losses for three years and use $3000 per year as a loss even with no gains. Not so with this. Gains hurt you, but losses can't help you.
Q7 at the bottom of page 3 is a real peach. Basically, it says that if you sold two sets of concert tickets, one for a gain and one for a loss, you have to pay taxes on the gains for one set, but you can't use the loss on the second set to offset the gains. By that token, you can't consider...
According to this: https://www.ekwb.com/news/ek-shares-the-am5-compatibility-roadmap-for-all-cpu-cooling-products/, there should be a conversion kit for the supremacy available on ek's website. It's further down on the page. Maybe this...
Yeah, that may be a bridge block too far. However, if the Supremacy fit AM4, then wouldn't it just come down to Z height as being the limiting factor? Good luck! Then again, I guess the Velocity and Supremacy weren't exactly designed for the AM5 chip layout, so we would both be using...
I'm no EK bootlicker, but I was browsing just to see if you can convert AM4 blocks to work on AM5. You can, they sell the conversion studs for $3.99. I actually just ordered some since I have a Velocity AM4 block and who knows, I may get the urge in the next year or so. Who knows if they will...
My 5950x and 3090 can pull close to 700 watts for the whole system. Of course, 2 DDC pumps and 18 fans add more than an insignificant power draw if I run all of it full tilt. The 3090 alone hits around 390 watts.
I've seen the argument that a power supply can fix coil whine, but then I've seen lots of people say it didn't work for them. Glad it worked out for you. Of course, you were a little underpowered with a 750 to begin with.
Which power supply did you switch from? I've been thinking of upgrading my power supply to something larger, specifically a Seasonic Vertex. Currently using a Seasonic Prime Gold 850.
Watercool has their own version of that tubing. That's what I'm using right now. I find it a little easier to work with and use with compression fittings. Cheaper as well...
It's good stuff, made for industrial use and spec'd to last 2 to 3 years before replacement. I ran some for a year before an upgrade and it had just slightly picked up a little color when looking through the reservoir, no cloudiness and no crud. All of the parts looked clean when I...
When in doubt...
Koolance 702 Liquid Coolant, High-Performance, Colorless, 5000ml (169 fl oz) $108.99, that's what I did.
They actually have the 700ml bottles marked down to $13.95 at the moment. A couple of years ago, you couldn't find this stuff anywhere but eBay or on back order.
I have only ever used Bitspower fittings on the advice of a member here, Dan_D, as he said they are the gold standard. I actually have a ridiculous amount of them sitting right now, not even being used. I'd hate to calculate the amount of money in fittings I have. Probably enough money's...
See what model Noctua fan you have there. It's definitely not an A12x25. If it was, I'd say stick with it. It looks like some flavor of F12 and those are rated for decent static pressure. If that's the case and you're happy with the noise level, probably no need to change it out. It's rated...
Personally, I don't like to wear headphones for gaming.
It's kind of mind-boggling to me that two identical video cards and can produce such different volumes and characters of sound when used on the same equipment in the same manner. I understand how every piece of silicon is different and...
I didn't do any research before I bought the 3090. I didn't even think about coil whine. I've never had a card with coil whine before. At least, no coil whine with normal usage. The only time I'd ever heard coil whine before was when closing Heaven when the credits screen shows for like 5...
I believe that all of Hardware Labs stuff is copper cores. This Hardware Labs L Series https://www.performance-pcs.com/water-cooling/radiators/black-ice-nemesis-l-series-360-xtreme-radiator-nlx360-f2pb.html for $85 is the OEM version of the Corsair XR7 360...
My Asus x570 Hero VIII and Asus 3090 Strix says otherwise. I rebuilt my system to be silent with a MO-RA3 radiator in push-pull, but I also built in a Primochill Wetbench SX so that I can always get to everything easily. I originally had an EVGA FTW Ultra 3080 in it that was silent. I...
I like your work. Sounds like you get the feature creep bug like me. I go gangbusters on a project, then just don't have the time right at the end. Then, when I get back into it, I end up finding ways to improve it.
All that said, have you thought of going with an external radiator in a...
Regrettably, I didn't research the transient spike angle of the 3090 prior to buying it used with a waterblock for a smoking deal. I saw after the fact that the 3090 is particularly bad for that. My sample is also has incredibly loud coil whine. I hope it doesn't let the magic smoke out of my...
I side graded from a EVGA 3080 FTW Ultra to an Asus Strix 3090 recently. I have an 850 watt Seasonic power supply. I also watercool, so the dual pumps and 18 fans pull not-insignificant wattage. What I find kind of funny is that the 3080 and 3090 pull almost identical power at stock according...
I have a little Fiio (spelling?) outboard sound card/DAC/whatever USB device connected to a tiny amp connected to some old Sony bookshelf speakers. Does the job for me and then I can disable the onboard soundcard in BIOS and I'm not using a PCI-E slot. I think good ole FrgMstr posted a how-to...
My Asus Crosshair Hero VIII X570 only has two M.2 slots. I though it was kind of crappy since a lot of others come with three slots. I'm actually using both at the moment as well. One is tied directly to the CPU and the other the chipset. I do think every board on the full featured chipset...
