I can confirm this does not happen on the Denon. I mainly tested with The Rig tv series as that was the first DD+ show on prime that came to mind. With native and direct mode it plays as 5.1 with LCR and Surround right and left as expected. With DD+ Dolby Surround upmix(my preferred config)I...
I have a similar setup to yours, so I'll drop my rear height channels so I can add the rear surround channels. Is there a specific show or movie on prime I should try or does this happen with everything?
My AVR is a Denon X3700h and I also use the Nvidia Shield (2017 pro). LG C2 as well.
I'm currently on an 5.2.4 setup, but plan to add 2 channels for 7.2.4 as soon as my Emotiva BasX 3 amp arrives which will hopefully ship out sometime this coming week. I'll be sure to test this as soon as it comes in.
Do you have Dolby Surround or DTS-X Nerual upmixing turned on, on your...
Jumped on after taking a break for several months, and my god the pvp sandbox is horrible. This has to be worst I can recall since stasis was introduced.
DD Live and DTS connect can encode audio from a Windows machine into Dolby Digital and DTS respectively, DD+ is the successor to vanilla Dolby Digital and exceeds the bandwidth of optical. And yes, a common issue with DD Live and DTS connect is latency, but that doesn't have anything to do with...
Have you tried this https://www.reddit.com/r/netflix/comments/kw216o/netflix_app_on_pc_overrules_audio_settings/
I'm surprised you ever got the decode signal with Netflix as I believe DD+ is too much for optical.
Those were the days. That failsafe also allowed you to unlock the 9-Ball AC features like laser blade projectiles and firing a grenade launcher while mobile.
Ripped Dune 2021 UHD, main feature Dolby TrueHD and the DD 5.1. Came out to 74GB and took an hour to rip. Playing with original quality and Atmos pass-through without issue. At least not yet, I'm only 10 minutes into watching, but I'll update you after.
For me its the ease and convenience of Netflix, but with my entire full quality Blu-ray collection. May seem petty or lazy to some, but its a big deal for a lot of us. This is just one of many reasons someone would pursue a setup like this.
I should get my optical drive in today and ill try to rip one of my UHD films and let you know. The drive is the Asus BW-16D1HT. I'll need to flash the firmware first, but hopefully i can get through it all tonight and report back tomorrow.
Good to know. Ill stick with the 504C until I can find a better match. I was not impressed with the JBL 520C, its the only speaker from the 5 Studio series that I have not been impressed with.
Agreed. Ordered a pair of 590s to replace my 580 LR channels. I may replace my current center (klipsch 504c) with one of the 580s, but I'm hesitant as I would have to lay the 580 down horizontally.
I know several of their PSs are Seasonic rebrands, but not sure about this particular one. With that said, with the 10 year warranty and good user reviews I'm willing to give it a shot. EVGA hasn't let me down yet. I've been using the 1300w G2 for 5 years or so now.
Get it while you still can.

Update: OOS already. Hope some of you got your order in before.
Update: And it's back! Go get it!
You're right about those nuances. I've been trying to get better at choosing my battles more wisely and disengaging when things aren't in my favor. I'm also trying to work on my hand cannon accuracy. I noticed the guys that can consistently get the 3 tap typically dominate.
Crucible has been brutal for the last couple weeks. I consider myself above average in pvp, but lately it feels like I'm getting wrecked much more often. I still enjoy it, but maybe I'm getting too old to keep up in the crucible lol.
Have you tried using the application specific setting in the Nvidia control panel? Its been a while since I've done this, but you should be able to add the game's executable and specify settings, specifically setting the performance mode to "high performance".
It seems Intel admits they need to retest Ryzen on Windows 11 as the cache patches were not installed. I guess we'll have to wait for reviews before we can verify the power disparity claims...
Allegedly the new flagship Intel used 2.3x more power than the 5950x in official benchmark, and the recently released AMD cache fixes were not installed. I'm not sure how reliable the article is, but if true, Intels new big dog CPU isn't quite as impressive as I thought it would be...
Been rocking the G6 for a couple years now. Its a fine device for gaming and music with a nice pair of headphones. The high gain switch can feed my headphones that require a bit more juice to get the most out of them.
