Back when I had lots of time, I didn't have much money. Now that I have some disposable income, I don't have much time. Since I got into gaming, I've kept an eye on reviews and been very selective. i haven't played many bad games.
I have played a couple of the worst, though. I had ET and...
I'll have to take some time to look up your recommendations. I confess, I'm far from a networking expert - I've never used SFP and I don't know what DAC is.
I've been looking at 2 switches with either 5 RJ45 or 8 SFP+ ports ($240-270 ea). My internet enters the house on the ground floor (1 PC...
Fusion will never be a part of the electrical grid because:
1. As discussed, it's been very difficult to get more energy out than it takes to get to the fusion reaction, and even more difficult to capture that energy as electricity.
2. The funding sources that would have to be involved don't...
If I'm reading my UEFI settings right, I can raise the possible boost clock without pushing an "all core" OC. Once you get the heat / power under control, you might be able to get some cores to hold over 6GHz.
There is not enough info there to compare iGPUs. All those 3DMark tests either include the CPU or only use the CPU, and are heavily threaded which does not reflect most game engines. Intel's e-cores inflate synthetic benchmarks but show very little influence on FPS.
Edit: Looks like the 680M...
No, this is not an ad for Amazon or Chase.
I've had the Amazon Cash Back card for a while, that gives you 5% back when used on Amazon. It's always shown up as Amazon credit. I was poking around my account on Chase today and found that you can actually deposit your cash back balance into your...
AMD is selling what they make. They have prioritized other product lines over consumer GPUs. It would be a problem if they were sitting on massive inventory that wasn't selling.
I've been getting emails from Comcast telling me my modem is too "slow". It tests above the speeds on my plan so it's good enough. Rather than pay Comcast more $, I got Starlink to cover the regular multi-day outages of Comcast.
I got the new Lancool 216 to fit a 4090. I flipped the expansion slots and got a PCIe extension cable to mount the GPU vertically. If you leave the standard configuration your NIC should fit.
Which I would hate.
My position is not really pro-merger, but fuck Sony. I hate all the involved parties, but if somebody is going to buy ActiBlizz, MS is probably the least bad prospect. Sony whining about potential exclusivity is the height of irony.
AMD has 5 generations of chiplet CPUs released, and appears to have some growing pains with their chiplet GPU. I'll be very surprised if Nvidia pulls off their first chiplet product without a hitch.
Beamdog has their own launcher? Fuck that, I'll stick to the original games with mods.
Battle.net is being phased out.
MechWarrior 5? How is it? Reviews I've seen are very lukewarm.
I think with the boost behavior of modern CPUs that even budget boards need to be "overclocking" capable and have beefier power delivery than was required in the past. That, combined with the increasing complexity of advancing PCIe and DDR generations, is a big factor in rising motherboard...
There's a rumor that AMD was aiming for 3GHz on Navi 31 and a hardware "bug" prevented it. Supposedly they have it figured out and could hit it with a refresh. We'll see...
