DAN A4-SFX: The smallest gaming case in the world

You can get foam tapes, for example 7mmx7mm from home hardware supply stores. They are to prevent drafts in Windows/doors. I would think they would be good, you could stick it to the case panel or the GPU easily enough.

No need to undervolt the 1700, works great with an L9a, no need for a fanduct either. That said, I still made a fanduct for mine but I just like to tinker! I have 2 hard drives under my PSU too, I don't think the extra 92mm fan will make much difference for you as you have a blower style GPU.

DAN A4-SFX: The smallest gaming case in the world

I think I would just stick with the l9i, especially if you make a fan duct to pull cold air in from outside the case. You can make simple ones with plastic sheet and foam tape or people have 3d printed them.

So your saying the black ridge is better than the l9a with a fan duct? Do you have the IO shield in place on the back of you computer? Sorry for all the questions, there are just so many factors that can affect performance! I really want to know how much better the black ridge with a noctua...

Slightly confused, with the black ridge and a9x14 the temp is 8° better than the l9i? I assume this is in the case, with no fan ducton the l9i? Also is this with the Io shield in place?

I'm struggling to justify purchasing this to replace my l9a with custom shroud. That said, 7-8° is pretty good but that's compared to an l9i without a shroud? It looks damn slick though, thanks for the benchmarks, good work!

I wouldn't bother with this option: Noctua NH-L9i with the stock 92mm exhausting out of the case It just doesn't work well as the case heats up, I've tried it with my l9a and fan duct.

How about a test with the fans switched off out of curiosity!? I do like this indirect cooling idea.

    DAN HSLP-48: A powerful sub 50mm heatsink

Maybe the chip he tested wasn't pushing enough heat to properly show the difference between the coolers. Also he didn't test it with a Noctua fan, related to that it may be much quieter at a given fanspeed. Lastly this cooler shouldn't have any turbulence noise. Looking forward to some more reviews.

Take the bottom screws out of the side panel and pop open the top of the side panel while gaming. That's what I do, drops the turbulence noise way down.

Case is so small that accessing the rear auido is easy enough? I use the rear audio on my a4, I'd say I'm in the minority, most people are using usb/wireless? It's not something I think people plug in and out regularly, only when moving?

Always buy the full amout of ram you want, mixing ram even of the same specs from different batches is a recipe for trouble.

    DAN HSLP-48: A powerful sub 50mm heatsink

On Ryzen, in gaming, you will gain more performance from high frequency ram than over clocking your CPU. A 1700 with 3200 ram matches a 1800x with 2330 ram.

Maybe check the tested ram list for your motherboard. Its more likely to work well with minimal effort. You should find the list on the Asus website.

I installed this fan at the top of the case. Even with a Noctua low noise adaptor it's way noiser than the Noctua fan. Very noticeable at idle. I didn't see much if any temperature difference when running Prime 95 so removed it after a couple of days. I would have removed it anyway as it was way...

I got the Lowepro Event Messenger 250 based on a post in this thread. It is hard to find, took me ages. You have to cut the tablet/laptop divider out of it, I turned the whole bag inside out, that made it really easy and you can't see where it was cut. The bag is nicely padded, seems like it...

DAN A4-SFX: The smallest gaming case in the world

I suspect you will see more improvement in day to day usage. If you are lucky there will be more times when the fan stays below audible levels because the copper can hold more heat as the CPU usage spikes up and down. With prime 95 once the heatsink has hit a temperature equilibrium it's should...

Not sure why nobody mentions GPU turbulence. I have an MSI 1080 armour and have noticed that if I take off my GPU side panel and hold it roughly 8mm away from the gpu the fan noise is way lower. Does your GPU not behave the same way? It's not super noisy with the panel on but it's much quieter...

Hi jjsyht, any chance you could load up those photos again please? I'm just wondering how tight the bag is. I'm planning on doing some clear plastic side panels which might be quite delicate and will add 3mm to the width of the case. Feedback would be appreciated thanks! Alternatively I was...

I'm perfectly happy with mine still. Ram chugging along at 3200, CPU stock. With vsync 60hz on and my ryzen 1700 + my 1080 armour I'm only pulling 140watts at the wall in sea of thieves. Madness.
