    More DLSS...

I really doubt many will care about a very old game getting full path tracing, especially when it takes 1,600 bucks to still have a subpar performance. It's more a tech demo then anyone expecting people to play the game with it. I just highly doubt previous gen owners are going to be upset...

Mass Effect: Andromeda Deluxe $4.79 at EA/Origin

To be fair though they really knocked out of the park in the original trilogy for characters. I think they just didn't have enough time to flesh it out as much, which hurt the story.

    GN: RDNA3 explained in detail.

Being first at something really doesn't matter, unless it's a widely sold and successful product. IBM did quite a few firsts but not all of them did them any good. IBM used to have some of the best engineers though.

Well they are using different nodes this time from the cpu and part of the gpu, so that should allow them to dedicate more to the gpu side this time without coming at the cost of cpu production. Also since the new cpu's are not flying off the shelves I think they will just dedicate more...

Well I think AMD has more room to grow with the chiplet design, while Nvidia's back is pretty much against the wall with monolithic design. Not really sure if they can really crank the wick much more for the next generation and if so that will give AMD ample room to catch up. But who knows...

    4080 Review

I believe AMD thinks the 6000 series fits for the 7800 and below for now. Likely they want to clear out stock as well. They just are not as badly overstocked as Nvidia.

Anyone “upgraded” from 5900X to 5800X3D for gaming?

Just keep in mind your running a cpu with less cores now, so make sure your not running something in the background that is causing you a issue. But so far I have been happy with my switch, it's just slower decompressing files now then it used to be, but that is the price of less cores. For...

I am well aware your not trying to troll me. Nothing you said is incorrect, but frame rate is critical for you not to notice the glitches caused by interpolation and short of a specific use case I think most everyone that buys this card will leave it off or prefer DLSS 2. VR is it's own animal...

I dont even use FSR on my 6900xt, I wont degrade image quality for FPS I don't need. At 1440p it does everything I need, but keep on trolling.

    More DLSS...

It's the static frame being generated not by the game or program but by the DLSS software itself, the whole gain of DLSS 3 is frame injection on top of the normal DLSS gains. Or do you guys just not pay any attention to the software and hardware you keep telling everyone is so great?
  13. Gideon

    More DLSS...

Looks like it injected a bunch of fake frames, which it should not be counting. 14.04 frames with no DLSS to 96.90 frames with DLSS 3, I would suspect with DLSS 2 would be around 30 frames. Can you run it with DLSS 2? Would be interesting because then you will see how frames were injected to hit...

Sometimes you have to get a person to try your brand at a good deal before they willingly seek out your products. Personally I would like to see the 6800XT class card at a lower price for the masses, Also AIB margins are not the same as the manufactures. If they could get something with that...

Maybe not, lets say they got it back to a 50/50 split then the investors would be fine with that as it will lead to more profitable sales later. Only AMD really knows what the cost is for each GPU, but I would assume $750.00 would still be quite profitable for them on their Halo card. I am just...

Anybody plan on grabbing one of the new RX7xxx Navi cards on launch?

You already have a 4090, they were never going to get your business anyway. By pricing it's obvious it's going to be under a 4090 in speed, but the question remain by how much, if the margin is small then AMD will do well.

These statements always lack any real numbers. Exactly how many did they sell? Reality is there are going to be very few full chips that are functional enough to sell on each wafer. Most are going to be cut down chips in the lower brackets. I don't know a single person among my friends that has...

Nvidia is on the newer node compared to AMD. Partially why Nvidia has higher costs to make their cards.

Problem I have with that if the final outlook, your hoping that AMD can compete at the same level and features so you can get a Nvidia card cheaper. This is why AMD does not want to be in that situation, as it gains them no market share. Thus punishing AMD for competing on the same level. Only...

Nah, AMD was far more constrained as there CPU's were on the same process, Nvidia had everything Samsung could produce on the other hand. AMD is a bit more free this coming generation for gpu production, but it still wont be on the same scale as Nvidia.

I think whether the 6900XT won or loss depending on the settings used to benchmark it and the game. On some games it easily outperformed the 3080, bigger problem was availability, AMD was capacity constrained and was the only thing limiting their sales. Nvidia didn't have that issue.

Last time I checked the 6900XT came in where most people expected it to, or slightly better. Ray Tracing is really the only thing AMD underperforms Nvidia by a margin people might care about last generation.

    AMD Wakes Up to Intel's Multi-Threaded Advantage, Ryzen 7 7800X a 10-core/20-thread Processor, Also Readies Ryzen 3 7300X

Here is the issue, no one looking at a machine for rendering is going to be looking at core counts that low anyway, so while it can be used to judge performance, no serious user is looking at that cpu for that task. I don't like relying on WIndows to manage the cores correctly, as shown with...

Anyone “upgraded” from 5900X to 5800X3D for gaming?

I think everything gains from the fast cache onboard but part of the price we pay for it is a decrease in clock speed. So for some games the decrease in clock speed eats the gains from the cache. Honestly I think this chip is one that would greatly benefit from direct die cooling and then maybe...

I put mine in yesterday, and they definitely run hot at a lower voltage, but had no issue running 4.5 across all cores. I had to reset my bios though because my motherboard refused to let it go above 3.5 until after I did that. My guess there was a bios setting causing a issue. I tried it out on...

Nvidia RTX 4090 power connectors melting?

Yeah, even if I was in the market right now for a card, I am not installing a fire hazard into my PC, that I often leave running while I am doing other stuff. The card should just be drawing flames on my computer screen, not actually creating them while it's running.

    RTX 4xxx / RX 7xxx speculation

More then 12 volts in DC is rare as it comes with dangers and issues for people. Some time ago they talked about upping the voltage in cars and ultimately they abandoned it due to the issues with connecters and users being harmed. So I doubt you will see higher DC voltage being used in computers.
