    Jonsbo U2 mini itx build

Glad to see this case getting some love. I ordered it last week. I noticed you guys are all using modular PSU's, would you call that a requirement for the case?

Unfortunately no. Here is the issue - definitely an issue with Win 8.1 just not sire how to get around it http://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2013/06/windows-8-1-and-high-ppi-displays-better-but-still-lacking/

External Display for Surface Pro 2

Perhaps a bit of an odd request but I need some help finding a decent external display for my Surface Pro 2. The problem is with how Windows 8.1 renders. My understanding is that it renders using the highest dpi display (SP2) causing text and what not to appear blurry on the lower quality...

    SimCity V (2013) - screens/artwork and information

I was actually wondering about this, is that true, can someone else confirm? I guess it doesn't matter I can't even play the game for 15 minutes without it crashing. I've started at least 5 cities and within 15 minutes it crashes and I when I try to load them it says no cities created.

Buying a Camera - Review Overload

Thanks man! That was actually my next question. Will Lightroom or Aperture be a worthwhile purchase with the camera, looks like you answered it for me. Thank you for your reply as well. I'm not too worried about going $20 over, I'll check out that camera as well.

Buying a Camera - Review Overload

I hate to be 'that guy' but I really need help buying a camera. For a bit of background the nicest camera we have is an iPhone 4, so that tells you pretty much all you need to know. Anyway, we're getting ready to have our first kid and my wife's blog is picking up a lot of steam so she feels...

After VM hypervisor crashed (took down fs with it) -- now network shares inaccessible

Any chance you are running DFS? Is that service started? Check inheritance, I've seen some weird stuff happen when a file server doesn't go down cleanly. Edit: Maybe I should read the OP....scratch the inheritance option. On the root of G: can you create a new share and share that out...

    SRM Setup Issues

Cool thanks for the info. I spoke too soon because this morning I'm getting the error again 'No client connection to SRM Server for Remote' Request failed because the remote server took too long to respond. Not sure what is going on.

    SRM Setup Issues

Wow, thanks for the offer! I was able to get it taken care of, but I do appreciate that. Today on a whim I went through the 'break connection' and started over...it worked! One question for everyone - is it safe to use domain accounts with SRM? We have 1 physical DC and the rest are...

I'm building out an SRM 5.1 environment and keep getting the following error when the primary site tries to connect to the secondary - 'The request failed because the remote server (secondary SRM IP) took too long to respond.' Any thoughts on what might be causing this? If I try the...

Pulled this out of a secured area today due to a loud sound (fans dying rapidly) reported by the end user. It was running code from 1998 and no one knows when it was put into service. 15 years, now that is quality hardware.

Recommendations for Building a Small Business Network

We did not have any luck with our fortigate. It is sitting in a rack unplugged, I wouldn't give it away. Of course it could've been the guy who implemented it....he's no longer with us lol Please explain. ASDM is just fine for people who can't handle a command line. Didn't cisco just buy...

    Chassis switches vs stacked switches

I do agree with this. I just think everyone's business case is different. Our biggest stack has 6 switches in it and sometimes I wish we would have went with a chassis. On the other hand, the 3750x platform is so modular and easy to work with it made sense to follow the standard we already had...

    Chassis switches vs stacked switches

Good luck. Our 6509 cores have 2 fiber connections to every data closet and I don't know what I'll do when one of the blades fail. I'm interested to hear what others are doing though. We split it down the middle and use a ton of velcro, it'll still be a nightmare. The best thing I can offer is...

    Chassis switches vs stacked switches

It depends on the business case, in my opinion. I've got 40 closets with 3750x stacks in them. Only two of them have more then 4 switches (which would be the point I would consider a chassis). Each closet has a minimum of two switches. So, to keep it easy, let's say there are 90 3750x's...

    Chassis switches vs stacked switches

We went with stacked 3750x's in a couple of data closets recently. The most I've done in a stack so far is six. Our biggest reason with going with stacked 3570x's was it would be easier for us to keep replacements on hand. I can't wait 4 hours for a part replacement and can keep everything I...

    Cisco Wireless Controller Migration

That is what I'm thinking about doing. Only took me about two hours to run through the GUI and copy the config. Tentative plan is to add the new controller to the same vlan and mobility group. Then do what Thrash suggested, switch APs over to the new controller and let them reboot.

    Cisco Wireless Controller Migration

I actually found a similar article - https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/2124270 My biggest question is about adding a WLC to a mobility group (never had to do that) and then making sure my configuration is the same. Since we're going to a completely different style controller I don't want...

    Cisco Wireless Controller Migration

We recently picked up a set of new wireless controllers and have them bundled in an HA pair. Our old controller currently runs about 100 APs. My question is, what is the best way to migrate APs to the new controller set with minimal impact? Is it possible to add the new controller as a...

GNS3 - What cisco IOS would be best to use?

haha. We upgraded our data center from 24 port 3750G series to 48 port 3750X switch stacks. We ended up with about 20 extra switches so 4 of them made there way into my lab

GNS3 - What cisco IOS would be best to use?

Great info. I've got 4 3750G's and an old HP box with 8GB of RAM and 4 NICs running GNS3. Like I said I just couldn't get GNS3 to play right. I'll have to research the CBT Nugget you mentioned and look at reconfiguring as you have it above. I don't know if I'll ever get to CCIE but I'm going...

GNS3 - What cisco IOS would be best to use?

GNS3 doesn't do switching so you'll need physical switches. Why do you have to have a 2800 series router? You should be able to use a 2600XM image and get everything you need for CCNP. If you can get physical routers you would be better off. I have a GNS3 setup and I just don't like it as well...

    Job Listing Cert Questions

    Site to site connections

We're healthcare as well, unfortunately there aren't any gov't ISPs around! We're full blown paperless now and this has been the last remaining challenge... Users scan data from a Thin Client onsite into the VDI session, essentially uploading the file. Not the best way to do things, but...

    Site to site connections

We're seeing a lot of lag transferring images (big images). A 10 page document is taking 12-15 minutes to get across, actual imaging is even worse. As for users,100 - 150 at each site running VDI back to our data centers. The two biggest sites have 20/20 fiber lines from the cable co. but it...

    Site to site connections

Is anyone out there managing multiple sites? We've got 5 locations that are anywhere from 5 - 100 miles away. Currently we're connected via 20MB leased fiber lines and VPNs. The performance has been less than optimal and I am trying to gauge what some other organizations out there are doing...

We're in a hotel room. My dad's laptop connects to wifi. Mine does not. WHY???

We used to run into this a lot as we support between 800-1000 guest users at any one time. The initial growing pains were tough but Cisco controllers now support interface groupings allowing for more subnets to be added to the same SSID.

Most likely they are hitting the max in their DHCP Pool, so yeah the network is essentially full.
