    42" OLED MASTER THREAD

Personally, I will not be going back to the 55" pc gaming, no way. I was too happy disassembling the 2x1.2 meters table dedicated to the 55 incher.

Yes thank you. I was referring to the whole quality of the Yamakasi Catleap monitors - even the max refresh rate wasn't guaranteed, while coming from the same region as the LG panels. Well, originated from, given the location of the company headquarters. Many would just brake within months of...

The tint dont clear up as far as I know. Unless it's really the viewing angles. Which dont clear up either, but can be adjusted.

    27" 240hz OLED Monitor!!! (but there's a catch...)

Nice. For someone who can still use the 27" 1440p it's a definite hit.

50 cm is too close. I wouldn't be able to use the display in such close range. 80cm is the minimum, imo.

Torn AW3423DW or LG C2 42 or Asus ROG OLED

I don't know how I lived through 7 years with 2 OLEDs that constantly have Windows taskbar on without burn-in. Also without any kind of screensaver running built-in or by Windows. Might be doing something wrong... Maybe should try unplugging it from the AC socket after use or smth.

    42" OLED MASTER THREAD

Dont get too picky about the unifirmity of the OLED, or you might find yourself disappointed 🙂 Just skip the test and if nothing bothers you in day to day use, then it's all good. The positives overweight that disadvantage with great margin. Also, what you see, might rather be viewing angles...

Aha!!!! IPS is a dud because of the burn-in issues! rumors are true! Stay away from ips unless your up to exchanging it every 2 years, at least! Or five years! Awaiting clarification on burn-in vs image retention.

    42" OLED MASTER THREAD

It may stay on for 6 hours straight easily. It can go up to 10 or down to 1.5 hour of use per day. I also did 12+ hours non stop benchmarking with static on screen content without any permanent burn-in consequences. Even though that was on the c55, I think the same applies to the c2 42.

    42" OLED MASTER THREAD

I never hid my task bar and never had any burn in. 5 years of use the c55 and several months of the c2 42 use. The only anti burn in measure I run is no wallpaper. I even stopped turning the display off when I leave the PC for 30-40 minutes. No burn in. Just dont unplug it. Edit: Also no icons. 😉

Vsync On with high fps 120-95 is just as smooth as gsync compatible. I'd say actually smoother, because you can focus on graphic details without the need to look through the annoying flicker. The flicker is all over the place, it can be noticeable, or unnoticeable but the display flickers...

    42" OLED MASTER THREAD

The flicker comes from Gsync. After some extensive gaming, I had to disable the Gsync compatibility, and the screen became so much better, so much less strain on the eyes. The input lag improved significantly as well. You probably won't notice the difference at once, except gsync making the...

From what I know, banding does not go away. If it's there, it's there. One of the biggest advantages of the C2 42 for me that I noticed first place is that it didn't have banding. In games there is zero banding and I know where to look for. Because my previous C55 OLED had plenty of it.

I find the the LG C2 speakers to be good enough for youtube and occasional listening. I have recently got a new custom desk and ditched the speakers completely (Emotivas 4), even though I reserved enough space for them. My main audio joy comes from the Audeze LCD XC Carbon headphones and the...

I'm using the eye 1 display pro. Yes, these are the default settings. I haven't calibrated it yet. I will get the Calman LG remote software later sometime, so the calibration would not be a problem. I used the standalone Calman app for checking the colors.

    42" OLED MASTER THREAD

I run calman colorchecker analysis and both modes have exactly the same colors (atrocious in terms of color correctness 😀). The only difference seems to be the gamma value, that I haven't measured yet. I can definitely feel the difference in input lag.

    42" OLED MASTER THREAD

I noticed, that when running the display in constant HDR mode and letting Windows manage the sRGB gamut, the image quality gets improved. I haven't measured the exact color values yet, but checked with the online Lagom test - the black level became so much better, and also the white level. The...

I am sensitive to display flicker, and from what I feel, the OLED flickers like the old pwm modulated LCD. I am too busy and too lasy to prove this scintifically but I am almost positive it does.
