USB DAC and studio monitors best option?

Well, if you didn't think it sounded good, who's to argue? I have my LS50 Metas on a Parasound Halo Integrated Amp and paired with an SVS Micro 3000 I find them to be very detailed and revealing...

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2022)

I bought this about 10 days ago and I've been really enjoying it. I find that I do best with the marksman guns - a quick headshot beats the console SMGs/ARs (if you don't miss) Got the revolver and the lever action to gold, should have the lever to Plat by the end of the week. A lot of people...

What was that AMD? Did you say Samsung is announcing an 8k Ultrawide?

It has a lot of potential, especially if they use the input virtualization tech they have on the Ark monitor (which lets you scale inputs and move them around) I think it needs to be more the size of two 32" 4K monitors as the current form factor is too small for me. This would give you the...

Probably worse for gaming but better for VMs. Most of these "upgrades" look like side grades to me. I didn't see you describe any kind of pain point or issue that you want to improve. Smoother fps, faster compute solutions, etc. Maybe you just want to redo your build for fun - nothing wrong...

    42" OLED MASTER THREAD

I have the same LG 38GL950 monitor and as much as I love it, this Asus has me in thrall. I want to try one for a few weeks and see how it is. Did you use your LG for work or just for gaming? Is there anything on the OLED that ever makes you question your decision?

    Audio streaming issue

What service are you using and are you able to try more than one service (like Spotify and Amazon) and see if they both stutter? Also, if you're on Windows, maybe try using the app? Amazon has more features when you use their app. Streaming music should be pretty easy for any modern system on...

    42" OLED MASTER THREAD

I've heard several reviewers say that the LG has optical out where as the ASUS monitor does not - but in this video, it looks like the ASUS might have a 3.5mm S/PDIF port? That would make my life easier on the audio side. Edit - maybe they were talking about ARC/eARC which I don't care about...

    New Monitor recommendation

I have barely played Overwatch since Apex Legends came out, but the issue I had was that a 16:9 option was not available until I went into the Nvidia control panel and created one. That's the only "special" thing I've ever had to do to make my 38" work. My panel is getting close to 3 years old...

    New Monitor recommendation

Samsung Odyssey ARK 55" 4K Gaming monitor

My understanding was that on the CRG9 (and most/all P by P monitors) that you are generally locked to 60hz when you run multiple inputs. This kind of system would be the killer app for an 8k display but personally, I think wide aspect ratios are always better on the desktop because that 55" ARK...

Samsung Odyssey ARK 55" 4K Gaming monitor

Not everyone is so easily pleased. Regardless, this is probably the future of monitors and could be a good reason for getting an 8k panel - if it lets you run multiple, virtualized/scaled inputs. In 5 years or so, we may see monitors that let you run portions at 240 hz and other portions at a...

What went wrong with my loop?

I never figured out the cause. My original loop had a nasty smell like spoiled yogurt. I got a new gpu and cpu block, both nickel plated. I was going to treat you to my MSPAINT skills but I thought - I bet someone else sees it this way... It was a never an issue int he past but I think it's a lot harder to "push" down to compensate for recoil vs "pull". But after 36 years, it's too late to switch.

It does have a frame rate function. It's not really that revealing though. Frame rate is generally high but feels stuttery. I don't play a lot of different games but I loaded up Battlefield V - no players in the map but it ran perfect - super smooth. It looks like it might be an Apex problem...

Turning it off then on again: massive increase in smoothness / fps (LG 38GL950B)

You're talking about Free-sync. I'm not using Free-sync, I'm using G-sync which has an FPGA controller that requires active cooling to function. Based on the fan diagnostics, it seems plausible that the FPGA (G-sync module) is over heating and likely throttling or otherwise not functioning...
