    Target Logitech G435

What's even more interesting about this deal is that brickseek doesn't even show the upc (097855165763) as in stock in any zip code I've checked including the OP. They seem to have even taken these out of online inventory.

School me on VLans Please and Need Help w/Static IPs

I try to isolate IOT stuff to just its own lan airgapped and not even connected to the Internet. And I've thought about getting a separate super low bandwidth Internet connection for the ones that require internet and can't be walled off (stupid cloud clown crap). Generally, having a...

    Target Logitech G435

Nice find!!! Might be a local target deal too as they move inventory. I picked up a Targus portable bt keyboard I wanted in forever for only $22 when I found it at staples while there for something else. :) If you're open to finding deals they will come to you. (y)

School me on VLans Please and Need Help w/Static IPs

So the easiest way to think of vlans is to think of them as their physical lan equivalent. Would you want 5x different networks hanging off your router? If so, then vlans. If not, then no vlans. I've actually only run across one scenario where I use vlans, and that's across a bunch of...

Yep, this is what I remember as well--lots of returns that weren't even working just put in a box and shipped out to people. Bad form imo.

    How much RAM you got?

I do this all the time, but with high res pdfs vs large page ones--ram and a gpu helps a lot. (y) Also, using some older depreciated pdf view that's lightweight like foxreader 1.0 is a tremendous boost since the pdf format hasn't changed in over a decade (and shouldn't if pdfs are to remain...

    How much RAM you got?

Yep, I think 128GB is more common now that 32GB modules are more available. And 256 is easy if you have an 8 slot workstation board, so that should be an option too imo.

    Gaming overseas with a VPN

Thank you for sharing your personal experience. Did you see ping times drop to the server when you were tunneled back into home or where they more or the same? Just curious since a lot of clouds are all about lan speeds in the cloud and using those as on and off ramps in theory should reduce...

Really, really need to improve cable management in my home office with way too many cables

These look nice in theory, but I can't see that small ledge holding any substantial weight as there's a lot of leverage created by the stuff in the 'basket' portion for that little ledge to hold on.

    WTF is up with Xfinity

I'm seeing 20%+ packet loss between business hours starting 11-1-2022 and I can't reach a single MF on the phone now for 2x days. I'm going to go get att so I've got a backup, but wtf is going on. This is in the Bay Area. Anyone else seeing this type of nonsense locally?

Getting a signal 200 yards away.

You may be able to run some sort of powerline between the two sites. But implementing it will be a bit more in the industrial arena than consumer or even enterprise.

clicking noises from my Netgear GS608 switch

clicking noises from my Netgear GS608 switch

Glad it was something easy like this. I'd check the input cable going into the speakers because if it's unsheilded, then that may be the true culprit. If it makes the noise even without an input connected, check the power supply as they can also go bad if they're the wall wart type. :)
  35. S

clicking noises from my Netgear GS608 switch

If you're hearing it just from the switch, then it could be the switch external power supply as I've had these go bad after a few years and the switch would work, but not without noise. I would check the power supply requirements and see if you've got another one that will work and swap to see...

Can’t find my NAS by name on new network

You're welcome. I actually forgot that you can use a name until this thread since I've been using IP now for over a decade, lol. I've actually standardized IPs across my various sites, so like .5 will always be a printer, .7 always a server, etc.

    FS : 32gb DDR4 ECC Dimms

According to Dataram's spec sheets on the 68116, the chips are 'Samsung 2Gbx4 DDR4-2400 SDRAMs'. (y) Would you consider bulk discounts? I'm specifically wanting 24x sk hynix 2400t for my R630.

Can’t find my NAS by name on new network

This is a common problem with windows shares that goes all the way back to win95. This has to do with the name resolution that is done not with DNS (I believe it is WINS). You can set a system to the WINS resolution server, or maybe on the nas or maybe on the router, but generally this is hard...
