    Paper launch this weekend?

i like them also. i am afraid however, that i will like the 27" better mainly because 3D is a better experience with a larger screen. And with more brightness .... And i am hoping that we see 3x2 3D Vision Surround before 3D Vision 3 -- or maybe AMD will attempt it with 3x2...

    Paper launch this weekend?

According to the web conference with Nvidia, the glasses will be interchangeable. Using LightBoost Glasses with 3D Vision (1) will actually give some image improvement .... i haven't got the new tech for evaluation yet ... probably because i took 5 months to play 80 games in 3D Vision with...

No, you are thinking in a completely wrong direction. Think of ALL that Nvidia does. And where it is going to be launched. And i am technically, Editor-in-Chief at ABT ;) EDIT: Where did anyone get the idea that anything would be "paper launched"? i am expecting a hard sample . . ...

    New Betas avaliable. 285.27

AFaiK, the main purpose of these beta drivers is to fix 280.26 issues with the emitter not responding to it's manual depth settings in 3D Vision.

3DVision is the real deal (sharing my experience)

For more immersion, get two more matching 120Hz displays for 3D Vision Surround. - i have three 24" ASUS displays using GTX 580 SLI or GTX 590 and the only disadvantage is room - they require 6 feet of desktop space. 3x27" would be even more impressive. ;)

    E8600 and GTX 570 - Bottleneck?

Which four? and what resolution? As stated previously, GTX 570 will allow for a lot more AA and maxed out detail at 1920x1200 or higher than the GTX 280 And there is no practical change with MOST of the newer games. i have added Lost Planet 2, HAWX 2, F1 2010, GTA-IV, Metro 2033...

    E8600 and GTX 570 - Bottleneck?

There is no such thing as "fully utilize" In the rare games that are *heavily* CPU dependent, the OP will still be able to max out his detail settings and add higher levels of AA with a GTX 570 that he cannot dream of with a GTX 280. To me that is worth the upgrade (and he can use his 280 for...

Did i check the link? RotFL i wrote it; did you check the author's name? ... maybe you should read the conclusions and look back at linked earlier articles that benched Phenom II against Penryn  Look at it very carefully. Only a very few games practically benefit from Quad over Dual. -...

    E8600 and GTX 570 - Bottleneck?

What a load of nonsense! Most of you are overstating the need for i5/i7 or a quad CPU -E8600 is fine for GTX 570 - especially at 3.7 GHz :p The only time you will have issues is in the rare game that does not run well on Dual core - even Phenom II X2 is fine with most games as this evaluation...

When does processor become a bottlneck?

Because it is SO well-know as to be a definition from a wiki :p If you want my definition of bottleneck, you would have to read my evaluation. The OP's CPU will not be a bottleneck.

When does processor become a bottlneck?

Do you want to debate semantics? A bottleneck in a computer is generally considered to be "a phenomenon where the performance or capacity of an entire system is limited by a single or limited number of components or resources". Taking your narrow definition of bottleneck, we would also...

When does processor become a bottlneck?

Even 3.2 GHz is not a bottleneck. i tested CPU bottlenecking with HD 5870 CF. Here is a review, Core i7 vs. Phenom II X2 vs. X4 scaling performance analysis, that covers Core i7-920 from 2.6 GHz to 3.2 and 3.6 GHz and compares them with Phenom X2 and X4

    Mix matching these Cards

No problems. Beginning with the 260 drivers, the cards can keep their unique clocks and you can change them to match each other - up or down. Here is a review that does what you want to do but with a Galaxy SOC GTX 480 and a reference GTX 480

    GTX 580 rumors

That is my point, you need to wait for the official launch and the reviews of any new product before you make up your mind about it. Galaxy GeForce GT 430 Video Card Review @ [H]

Anand never has done any good IQ comparisons. The GT 430's IQ is as up to par as the other Fermi GPUs. i didn't study my Galaxy GT 430 IQ either, but i didn't catch anything out of the ordinary. i focus on gaming also and the card is a decent upgrade replacement for GT 220 imo. DVD playback...

Nevermind that you are not smart enough to even be an idiot. i know for a *fact* in an X58 MB where the two cards are 1/4 inch apart and the top card is starved for air - it WILL overheat. i got no "proof" from you; just a claim saying that you are using 3 different ASUS cards in 3 different...

GTX 480 SLI with different brands...

What does overheating have to do with it? If you put *any* two hot GTX 480s cards in SLI where the top card is starved for air, the top one always overheats - in that case, it is not a BIOS issue nor an issue of "playing well" together at all :p Now is this ASUS SLI BIOS "issue"...

GTX 480 SLI with different brands...

You got something "verified" by more than one end user? :p ---"thermally out of control" means what? The top card got too hot If you really did try the new 260 drivers, you would see that each clock in SLI can be set independently of the other

GTX 480 SLI with different brands...

Not wrong. Did you read what i read earlier? :p The *beta* (release candidate) 260 GeForce drivers allow for much more mixing and matching than ever before - even to keeping each card's original clocks in SLI (if they are different). Did you use the 260 drivers?
