There's just too much to go through. Problem is I am not sure what I lost so I dont know what to look for.
Apple has made their OS so convoluted, I'm moving back to Windows. You used to be able to back up your session history using lastsession.plist. lastsession.plist is no longer supported. I...
Running Safari 16 on Monterey 12.6.
Is it possible to recover tabs anymore? I used to be able to do this using lastsession.plist. That doesn't work anymore. Also, open last session failed.
I am able to recover some from the lastsession.plist file using an editor and some manual copy...
hey DB34, thx for the reply.
It's for my wife's iphone so I was trying to go with something that is built into apple and easier to use. All she has to do it press one button to connect the IPSEC vpn.
You are correct, that video is pretty old. I couldn't seem to find a recent how-to on IPSEC...
Anyone got IPSEC to work on an iPhone using pfSense? I **think** I followed this guide: (1260) iPhone IPSEC VPN Setup - YouTube
I have OpenVPN installed and working great. Not able to get IPSEC to work. I am running pfSense version 2.4.5-RELEASE-p1 (amd64)
I appears to be connecting...
Spot on, I needed to use the Brocade's IP.
By the way, you are correct about the NIC card. I added one extra. Do they make a card with 2+ NICs? This is exactly what I need for another project I am working on.
Do you have a recommendation for a 2 or 4 port NIC card? This would be amazing. For...
VLANs I can add but there is no room for additional interfaces which is what Nicklebon was suggesting.
thanks Meeho. I was putting in 192.168.1.1 as the Gateway instead of the Gateway of the switch, 192.168.1.250
Unfortunately, I dont have a way to add another interface to the SuperMicro box. That would be ideal but can't do it.
As for the ACLs, did you see the ACL access list in the OP? I tested those ACLs and they seem to work in blocking VLAN3 from reaching anything.
I'll have to figure out how to...
Not sure my setup is correctly implemented but I am trying to have one-way communications to a VLAN for cameras.
Need to isolate camera network (VLAN3) from accessing the internet or any other internal network but I need to be able to reach into the VLAN3 network.
Right now, the only way I can...
I've got a Notua 5V 3 pin fan. I bought a CoolerGuys 3 pin to 2 pin adapter with CB-32C Connector. The only problem is I have to plug the CB-32C in backwards on the mobo to get the fan to turn on.
Guess this isn't a common problem, I tried googling before I posted here.
What is the best way to...
I've got a server rack in a closet I am trying to keep less noisy. What brand/type ofrack mounted fan do you guys recommend?
If I could monitor the temp or have it where it auto kicks on and off the fans after the temp hits a certain point, that would be a bonus.
Not at all bud. Trying to learn and have been reading a lot. Been watching videos on VLAN configuration also. Always more to figure out and learn though :)
I went back and read up on trunking. From my understanding, the main purpose of trunking is to carry traffic between switches and maintain...
This is my first L3 and I have been reading the config guide trying to figure this out.
I may be reading this wrong but isn't a trunk used for when the pfSense box would be the one doing the routing?
My plan is to have the ICX6450 do all the routing but manage the switch from the LAN on the...
Hey guys, wanted to post a follow-up. GiGaBiTe, that fan would have been perfect but I didn't realize the original fan had a weird pitch.
The SUNON MF40101V2-C01C-A99 37MM 12v has a pitch of 20mm-26mm-26mm. I couldn't find anything that has the same pitch. Before I throw in the towel, just...
Thanks Eulogy and MrGuvernment. I went ahead and picked up a new/open box one on eBay.
Couple questions though, I see that I need to flash it but what is the purpose of flashing it if it already has an OS on it?
This is for a camera network I am trying to isolate and have the Brocade L3 do all...
Thanks Samir. Wait....so the configurations are within those 320 pages?? Brother, I have time but not that kind of time. I was looking for a PDF or something similar that I could read up on the commands and functionality. I googled and I have not been able to find any kind of config...
Anyone familiar with the Brocade switches?
Came across this and looking to buy a used one https://forums.servethehome.com/index.php?threads/brocade-icx-series-cheap-powerful-10gbe-40gbe-switching.21107/
Is there a config document for these switches I can reference for setting up L3 routing...
Thanks GB, yep, meant in parallel. Why would something break? Wouldn't it just not be able to power all the fans?
BTW, checked that MOBO fan. The label reads 12V but when you look it up, it says 5V. Also, says it measures 40mm. Not sure what to do, I dont have a meter to check the voltage...
Very interesting Teeny, thank you. I think it might have an extra SATA, I will check. Didn't know about the SATA to 4 pin, that may be a better option in case I dont have a SATA connector.
If I can hijack my own thread, how do you power fans in series that use these type of connector? I think...
There is no cool air source, just ambient air in a closet 6' x 3' x 10'.
I dont have the unit yet, it should arrive Friday, but looking at pictures it looks like it has fans on the left side and vented grill on the right. Looks like may house 5 fans on left side.
Not sure if it is sucking air...
If I understand your question, you asking how the air vents out? Picture would probably explain better.
it's got fan placements on top, bottom, and sides.
Yes, it is 80x80x40. AD0805LX-A70GL: length 80, width 80, height 25, voltage 5V, current 0.23A, 2 pin
Thanks for the recommendation brother, much appreciated!
Looks like it comes with adapters: https://www.amazon.com/Noctua-NF-A8-PWM-Premium-Quiet/dp/B00NEMG62M
I'll check that NF-A4X10...
Manual isn't very specific on distances:
Leave adequate space at the front and rear of the enclosure for proper ventilation. Do not block, cover or insert objects into the external ventilation openings of the enclosure.
Should the fans be pointed in or out?
Hopefully, this is the correct spot for this question....I am planning on mounting a Cisco 24 port PoE switch. 350X-24MP. Looks like it will generate a bit of heat.
power comsumption is 468W and dissipation is 1607 BTU/hr
Going to mount a rack to the wall in a closet that is about 6' wide x3'...
Hello, I'm looking for recommendations for a layer 3 switch. I am trying to segment several IP cameras on a VLAN and prevent access to the internet. I would like to have one admin computer on a separate VLAN that can access the camera VLAN and manage the devices.
Something I can HTTPS into...
Looking for advice for a rack mount.
I have a rather large NVR (security camera recorder) 17.5" x 17.75" and I am trying to find a lockable server rack I can mount on the wall.
I think I found one that is 3" wider than normal and 20.5" deep...
Trying to replace two fans, motherboard fan and case fan.
Case fan: ad0805lx-a70gl, trying replace with a Noctua to reduce noise.
AD0805LX-A70GL: length 80, width 80, height 25, voltage 5V, current 0.23A, 2 pin
Problem is, the closest I can find is a 4 pin, Noctua NF-A8 5V PWM but I only...
Cool cool. Thanks.
If I set up a VLAN for the cameras and a VLAN for everything else, would a layer 3 switch be able to communicate between the two VLANs as opposed to a layer 2 which would not?
P.S. looking at the Ubiquiti USW‐Pro‐24‐PoE.
