My 3080 step up finally triggered on Wed night.
Shipped off my 2080 super yesterday. It should arrive on Monday.
Hoping for a quick turnaround and getting my new one by the end of next week!
Super excited, only took 8 months LOL.
I had an 850 ages ago that had 2 6+2 connectors on EACH cable (2 cables total for pcie).
That's why I wondered if I kept it easy on the voltage, if an adapter would get it done for me, or if I'd have to go buy an 800w to square it away.
This is all dependent on getting to step up to a 3080ftw...
Do you guys think I would have a problem using one of these on 1 of the 2 pcie cables from my psu (650w)to power a 3 plug evga ftw 3080? Not planning to oc or anything, probably undervolt if possible... Just don't want to have to replace my psu.
I live in a small town, so the hardware enthusiast community isn't very big. That's why I was originally hopeful about getting a card from them.
When I was in Best Buy on Sunday, there were 4 customers there. I think they have plenty of time to answer the phone, but waiting 10+ minutes for...
When you call for stock at "your" store, it actually takes you to distribution person, who is not at your store. I waited 14 minutes to get in touch with one yesterday. As I posted before, she indicated that there wouldn't be any cards in store, as none were manifested for in-store...
So if you were building a new system, and not upgrading (so no consideration of change from some current performance level) what's the best performance/$ now that we've seen what 3080 is capable of?
I have my new rig built, and I was really hoping to get a 3080, but with the likely limited...
So I called back to the best buy and got connected to a product availability person for the region.
She said that no stores would be getting the cards until there were 100 preordered (I told her that the manufacturer was not allowing preorders for this product).
She said unfortunately nothing...
I stopped by Best Buy yesterday to ask some questions about the release on Thursday.
According to their inventory tracker, none of the 3080 cards were on their way to the store yet (but it said that for EVERY store). The 3 listed SKU's on their website indicate Founders, and 2 Gigabyte cards...
I haven't been out of the house or away from my kiddos in 6 months. A nice little 5 hour stint at best buy in a camping chair with my phone and my switch sounds glorious. If I can get a card, all the better. I'm in a small town with 1 best buy, so I'm just hoping the employees or scalpers...
I'm going to camp out early at best buy (haven't done that for anything in a while) Will be trying to buy on the typical websites while waiting outside.
Hoping the few cards they do get don't get "preordered" at 6am for pickup and beat me to it since they dont open until 10.
A somewhat related question, wasn't sure it warranted it's own thread... but I'll let you guys be the judge.
I haven't tried to "1st day purchase" any hardware in a long time.
However, in building my new rig, I want to get a 3070 on day 1 as fast as possible.
What are your recommendations for...
Thank you, that worked amazingly well.
Up and running with the 2tb as primary and the 1tb as storage. Man, that was an epic get. I never get in on deals like that, so I'm very very happy :) Now to install ALL THE GAMES.
Glad to hear it! :) I'm thinking about keeping my 1tb as well, and just taking out my 256 that came with the laptop. I haven't had much luck imaging windows from 1 drive to another, though. Not sure I want to do yet another windows reinstall.
I'm finally set up on my new laptop, and in order to monitor thermals on it, I've been using MSI afterburner and Riva Tuner Statistics Server to display the relevant stats in game.
However, for some reason after the other night, just having afterburner installed causes my cpu to idle...
Just finished the last boss this afternoon... What a great experience.... 96% completion, not sure what I missed. I think I will wait for the switch version to be fixed and then take a shot at hard or new game plus.
Agreed with J3RK that this is exactly the type of game I want to play on the switch. My other wish for a switch port (done right of course) is Ori and the Blind Forest. I do agree that ROTN plays so much better at high framerate though. Doing 144hz on it is buttery smooth and I love it. Wish...
It'll get there, but I'll probably have finished it on PC beforehand.
Someone said that they felt like they knew the switch version was in crap shape, delayed it a week to hide it during initial reviews, then released it, played dumb about the problems, and are now promising to fix it.
I ended up getting an Acer Helios 300 laptop after much bullshit with some ASUS ones over the past month.
It came with a 256gb m.2 drive as the boot drive, and has 1 open m.2 and one open sata drive.
After getting it all booted up originally, I populated the m.2 slot with the 1tb...
Yeah I'm quite sad, I even bought a D-pad joycon specifically for this game, but on Switch it's just painful. Honestly, I used a remote play tool on the switch to stream the game over from my PC, which flows in at 60fps and that's miles better than the switch version overall.
Kind of silly...
I've played both the PC and switch versions. Do NOT buy the switch version, the framerate and input lag compared to playing on PC are unacceptable.
They need to patch switch pretty substantially to make it smooth enough to play properly.
I'm wondering if anyone has experience moving a hard drive (ssd) from one laptop to another identical laptop without needing to reinstall windows.
I bought an ASUS zephyrus laptop, which unfortunately had a hardware defect on the hinge. I've sent it back and am getting an exactly...
