    RTX 4xxx / RX 7xxx speculation

If you go back and listen to the last NV earnings call you will see that they also wrote down due to purchases already made on future inventory. Once you buy those wafers, they either get run and you pay for those, or they don't get run and you still pay for those....

    RTX 4xxx / RX 7xxx speculation

Hardly any 4090 stock is going to EU. NV knows there is little to no chance of sales there currently. NA inventories for launch are up 400% to 500% as to what we would usually see for this series of card.

Well, I will leave it running in the background while I am working all the time. So it is probably more time looking at a wall than anything else and listening for the furnaces to run out of fuel.

Thanks for the linkage, I had not seen that. Seeing that flat voltage reaction is an excellent thing.

I finally saw some burn in on mine, but I can only see it with a green test screen on. It is around the static Rust UI in the lower right hand corner. 2000+ hours in Rust on this screen in the last year. I cannot see the burn in during any kind of normal usage.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070: up to 30% faster than RTX 3090 in gaming

Did I say it was a bad thing? Pretend all you want. I know the truth. I read the documents. Seems like you want to argue about something. I am just giving you facts, and my track record on that front is stellar.

    RTX 4xxx / RX 7xxx speculation

Been waiting on verification of the 4N process being 5nm, as NVIDIA spec sheets were incorrect on "4N" being 4nm. I have been told this for a while, but had not seen anything solid on it. Furthermore, HKEPC reports that NVIDIA also clarified what TSMC 4N really means, which is not to be...

    RTX 4xxx / RX 7xxx speculation

I do not expect AMD to try and fight a perf war with the 4090. I think AMD will focus on efficiency and cost in the current economy going for the meaty part of the TAM. The super high end does not create high percentage of revenue. I do not see Nvidia selling out of the 4090 cards in retail...

    RTX 4xxx / RX 7xxx speculation

There is more 4090 stock moving into North America than I have ever seen for a top end video card ever before. Nvidia bought a awful lot of those wafers before the market went to shit.

10 pound 600W cooler is going to pay off at stock settings. Going to be interesting seeing it turned up to 600W. "With DLSS 3 disabled, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card consumed 461 Watts on average with a performance per watt (Frames/Joule) of 0.135 points. As soon as DLSS 3 was...

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070: up to 30% faster than RTX 3090 in gaming

I believe what we are seeing are AIB designs based on the 600W design spec that NVIDIA submitted. Tons of reasons for not bringing out "stock" 600w cards, but the biggest is simply that the needed PSU infrastructure is not in the channel to be able to fully support that. ATX3.0 spec allow for...

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070: up to 30% faster than RTX 3090 in gaming

After reading this at Techpowerup I 100% believe the 4090 was designed as a 600w card and is underclocked to not end up having a huge amount of end user issues. I know for a fact that the only design kit submitted by Nvidia for builds in China was 600w. While the RTX 4090 operates at 450 W by...

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang hints at ‘exciting’ next-generation GPU update on September 20th Tuesday

Can't say that thread is not exactly on point. "Nvidia's entire naming scheme is basically a scam anyways and actually tells you nothing about the hardware, there is 0 technical reasoning behind the names. Literally the only thing it tells you is the card's price relative to to other cards."

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070: up to 30% faster than RTX 3090 in gaming

The first 4090 build sheet submitted months ago in China was for a 600W card. That card does still exist in the internal NVIDIA ecosystem. I can list a bunch of reasons for not releasing that now.

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang hints at ‘exciting’ next-generation GPU update on September 20th Tuesday

Think what you will about MLID but I very much liked his close that is pertinent to the comments below. I wish more people would hold NV's claims to the fire. Video at the mark: Worth mentioning, Ian Cutress recently stated publicly that he keeps and eye on this and that AMD in recent...

This is from CoolerMaster on ATX 3.0 PSUs. ATX 3.0 PSU spec changes. Revision/Enhancement of the ATX 3.0 When we look at ATX 3.0, we know that the power excursion will be up to 200% peak power on the power supply, which is the biggest changes from the past. Now, in order to hit this 200% of...

EVGA blacklisted HardOCP about ~20 years ago from samples because we gave them a "bad" review on an in-house cooler. We went back and discussed our conclusion and our data with EVGA. Please tell us what is wrong with our data? Never got an answer, just never sampled again.
