There’s a new Animal Crossing: New Horizons item duping glitch

Haha I'd say so too. I never did get into this game. Some people devote their lives to it though and I can't understand why. I guess it's just not for me

How can you still use your old 128 and 256 GB SSD drives?

Yeah, I think it's a good deal personally. They have a 30-day trial too. If you're on the fence about using that program then maybe give it a free test run. Some people use drivepool with SnapRAID for even better data security. Personally I just use drivepool alone with duplication, cloud backup...

How can you still use your old 128 and 256 GB SSD drives?

If one drive fails then you will lose the data on that drive. However, drivepool supports duplication. You can set it to duplicate all the files in the pooled drives or duplicate individual folders... You can set it to duplicate 2,3,4, ect times. If you do that then the files will be placed on...

How can you still use your old 128 and 256 GB SSD drives?

+1 for drive pool! I use it to combine 18 disks into one roughly 85TB drive after formatting. A couple nice things about drive pool is that the drives can all be different sizes if you wish. Another good thing is it stores the files normally. So if program fails or a disk dies or whatever then...

Help! Changed hardware and storage spaces pools missing!

Yes I did.. Put the previous computer back together exactly the same way it was. It didn't fix anything. Drives still show up exactly the same way. Thanks for that though.

Help! Changed hardware and storage spaces pools missing!

I have an update.. Today I've begun trying to use a program called testdisk. It claims to be able to restore partitions. I tried it on one of the smaller disks (1TB) to minimize data loss should something go wrong. The program seems to have done what it claimed to do. It can take a very long...

Help! Changed hardware and storage spaces pools missing!

Hello, I hope y'all are having a great day. Today was the day I upgraded my storage server. The system stores our data in a disk shelf over a sas connection. It also records video feed from poe cameras. Everything was working fine until I messed something up. This is what happened. I cloned...

    Recommend a 750w PSU

I agree that the 750w supernova is a great power supply. I have had a couple different capacity supernovas and they're all still going strong. If keep on running it. You said you were getting one from a store on Wednesday though. What did you get?

SD cannot open file system: "volume not accessible parameter is incorrect"

Don't do anything else yet! The first thing you should do (if you have important data on the drive) is scan it with a utility that will find and recover files. If you do this now then you won't risk losing any more data than may already be lost. Easeus has a program to do this but there are many...

    Backup Solution and File Server

This would work great. It's a Synology 4 bay NAS. Just add whatever capacity drives you need. Edit: The drives you get depends on how much storage you need. I always prefer to use Western Digital drives. The Western Digital reds are made for a NAS but any SATA drive will work. The NAS ones may...

HDD Power on time 3068 days...

I see no reason to be worried. Those old Hitachi drives are known to be some of the best. I have a 24bay SAS disk shelf connected to my server that had a bunch of those drives in it. I've slowly been swapping them out for larger drives but all of them still run perfectly. Most of mine have...

Amazon and Seagate customer service are terrible.

I know it wasn't Seagate's problem. Someone probably bought the drives from Amazon, swapped the internal drive out for junk ones, and returned them. Amazon is at fault for selling the drives again after they had been returned. They obviously didn't test them or anything. I called Amazon to...

Amazon and Seagate customer service are terrible.

I tried Amazon... Got on their live chat to inform them of my issue. They then insisted that they call me. After being on the phone with them for more than an hour they called Seagate and pawned me off on them. I agree that it was Amazon's problem to begin with. They pawned me off on Seagate...

Amazon and Seagate customer service are terrible.

Yeah, I know Amazon should've never passed me off to Seagate. The problem was originally Amazon's. Amazon is the one who called Seagate and put me through to them though... Not my choice. Seagate definitely made it worse though. They were nice enough to replace the drives and they shipped the...

Grand Theft Auto 6 to have Huge Map at Launch

I am excited to have a massive map. I think a local MP would be awesome on pc. If there was no limit to what each of the players can do or where they can go while in MP it would be badass. I doubt that'll be something they'd be working on though. Looking forward to playing this game regardless.

Amazon and Seagate customer service are terrible.

I called again today and the person I spoke with apologized for this happening. He said the case was closed and that the warehouse is just behind with accepting returns and that's why the charge still went through. It doesn't excuse the fact that this has been a total nightmare from the start...

Amazon and Seagate customer service are terrible.

I called Amazon when I first received the drives from them. They are the ones that called Seagate and made me deal with them. I know that the original problem with the drives was not Seagate fault. They definitely made this worse though. It is Seagate fault that my card was charged. I returned...

    Any Experience With M-Disc?

So you want to add and remove data from the disc like you would a flash drive? Or do you want to just keep adding until it's eventually full? With M-disc the data is literally etched in stone. The laser burns holes in the stone like layer (not sure of the exact material) and that's how the data...

Amazon and Seagate customer service are terrible.

I don't know if this is the place to vent about all this but I thought some of you might like to hear my terrible experience. I bought 2x Seagate expansion 8tb drives from Amazon. They were sold and shipped by Amazon. I received the drives and hooked them up to my desktop only to find that one...

EU plan to fit cars with speed limiters could be UNSAFE

It is only a matter of time before this is done here in the states also. I for one will not be buying any new cars for the foreseeable future. They have too much tech that can be hacked and used against you or the government can have too much control over it.

    Split USB type C?

Ugh after posting this I did some more searching via Google. Someone posted on another forum saying they were going to try using a hub to do what I asked. No one replied saying it worked though. I checked Amazon for some hub and found a few that say they allow charging and using storage devices...

    Split USB type C?

I have a question that I've been unable to find the answer to. I have an old Seeburg SCD-1 jukebox and I mounted an Asus Zenpad Z8 to the front of it. It uses Bluetooth to stream music to the jukebox and works very well. Right now the charge cable is plugged in all the time. I'd like to split...

    File Server CPU

As stated earlier, if its only use is to serve files then you're more likely to have the network connection be your bottleneck. For my file server I run an i3 530 @ stock speed with 6gb of ram and a 1gb network connection. The drives are in a MR Rackables 16 bay SAS enclosure and I have 24TB...

New MacBook Pro i9 Slower than the old MacBook Pro i7

So Apple (and probably other laptop manufacturers) produce a powerful laptop that can't be run to its full potential because of heat issues. Why are they allowed to do this? If an auto manufacturer produced a car that had overheating issues in every single unit produced they would recall it...

VPNFilter Router Malware is a Lot Worse Than Everyone Thought

I have an Asus rt-ac66u that is on that list. I've followed all the steps given and have had the default password changed and remote management turned off since I got it. Also been running the latest merlin firmware. If I were to build a pfsense box, would it be safe to use this router only as...

    Seagate’s Goal: A 20 Terabyte Drive by 2019

Yeah, I've had a few of those 3tb drives and have a sour taste in my mouth after that. I now use hgst drives and haven't had nearly as many problems. Until the HGST drives give me issues they are the ones I'll use. I do hope SSDs will come down in price enough to be competitive for large amounts...

    Might be done with AIO's

I've had good luck with my Kraken X60. I bought it in August of 2013 and have been using it 24/7 on various hardware. It now cools an 8320 and still does a great job. If it dies tomorrow I will be happy with the use I got it off it. Everyone has different success rates with these I guess.

    Let's talk about VPN's for a moment

I have been using PIA for more than a year. At first I used it only on my desktop and used the app for that. It worked well. I then switch to an Asus RT-AC68u router and set up the VPN on it. The processor on this router is not good enough to manage 128bit encryption for the VPN. The CPU usage...
