i7 920 is cheap, but the 1366 motherboard itself will cost you at least 70 - 100 dollars, that would put your total up to 110+. Since you are on a super low budget, go for the i3 combo deal for 95 dollars and buy a decent GPU.

I am at 490FSB with 1.57v PLL, so i doubt you need to go any higher than 1.6.

i would stay under 1.6v for a q9550.

I notice this same problem as well. I had my Q9450 at 3.92 ghz with Prime95 stable, sometimes it has trouble posting and keep doing the 2 secs restarts. This motherboard is kind of pissing me off.

3ghz for E5200 should not need much increment in CPU voltage. Besides, you are on a stock intel heatsink, what do you expect out of it? Handle up to 1.4v?

no need to touch other settings unless you going for crazy overclocks., just leave them on AUTO. Set PLL to 1.5, CPU voltage to 1.20, memory timming, multiplier and FSB.

I would try to install another OS before considering hardware are the problem.

CPU PLL VCore (1.800) --- > Drop it to 1.5 or 1.6 before you chip die So the system freezes when you are running Prime95 or Linx? if so, one, it could be the CPU is too hot causes the system to be unstable. Two, you need more vcore. I would keep an eye on the CPU temp while running Prime95...
