I was waiting to see if I could get a 5600X for my Asrock B350 board, but it doesn't look like they'll be releasing a bios that unlocks Zen 3 for the B350 line (They've already done it for the X370 boards). I settled for an R7 3800X from an R7 1700X. Performance is still very good.

    5800x most popular processor?

It's 600+ miles BOTH ways. Idk, it's hard to imagine the drive being worth it. I hate traveling and the price of gas continues to soar higher every day. Even if I get the deal of the century, I'll end up no better off than buying the same damn thing at a best buy.

    5800x most popular processor?

I just checked. I live in south FL. I'd have to drive 600+ miles all the way to the nearest state (GA) just to visit one. No thanks.

Looking for free software for gpu benchmark test for windows xp.

Yeah, those are the sorts of things I was referring to. I didn't mean to be dismissive of legacy apps running on XP in a VM. It makes sense for someone to use it that way.

Looking for free software for gpu benchmark test for windows xp.

Well, I actually don't remember what all I tried, but I realized many everyday applications didn't work (like chrome). I'll concede if you run XP in a VM for specific legacy apps then it should be perfectly serviceable. The machine I tried it on was an old OEM unit with the original windows XP...

Looking for free software for gpu benchmark test for windows xp.

I remember several years ago trying to use Windows XP. It wasn't pretty. Hardly anything runs on it. I'm guessing you're doing this as part of a challenge or interesting YouTube project.

    What happened to Zen 3+?

Am I the only one who suspects that the 5800x3d will be sold out for months and that there's no chance in hell anyone gets it at less than $599 due to demand? They scrapped an entire series and replaced it with only one chip. There's no way they can keep it in stock. I'm guessing most would be...

Would it be naïve to sell my Vega 56 for $$$ to buy a better card "when" prices fall again?

So I tried out mining for a bout a month which netted about $70 bucks worth of bitcoin; however, I eventually opted to sell the GPU before it's too late to capitalize on the current prices. Even if prices don't come back down to normal, I doubt a second hand reference RX Vega 56 will be worth...

Would it be naïve to sell my Vega 56 for $$$ to buy a better card "when" prices fall again?

Well the good news is that I figured out the problem. When I placed "pause" at the end of the script, I discovered that it wasn't recognizing teamredminer.exe as a valid file. That's when I remembered that I had been running the batch file as administrator as well which automatically runs from...

Would it be naïve to sell my Vega 56 for $$$ to buy a better card "when" prices fall again?

I modified the bat, but nothing is launching, so I'm guessing I did something wrong. Care to look it over? I've already set "teamredminer.exe" to run as administrator via properties. The US ethash pool address is one I got from here :: These environment variables should be set to for the...

Would it be naïve to sell my Vega 56 for $$$ to buy a better card "when" prices fall again?

That'll be my next stop because I've been having one HELL of a time trying to get your values to stick in either MSI After Burner or the built-in Radeon Software tuning feature. I settled with using the "under-volt" preset until I figure a better solution out. I'm guessing both have to be...

Would it be naïve to sell my Vega 56 for $$$ to buy a better card "when" prices fall again?

Thanks. I got it from here...it turns out they used an Nvidia 1070 illustration for what was supposed to be instructions for a Vega 56. Anyways, I'm heading your advice and I've paused the miner for now until I've got all the parameters in correctly. I also needed to update the driver anyways.

Would it be naïve to sell my Vega 56 for $$$ to buy a better card "when" prices fall again?

Thanks for the response. I'll try it out. I found a website that says I should set: Core Clock: +100 Memory Clock: +600 Power Limit: 80 I'll start with that.

Would it be naïve to sell my Vega 56 for $$$ to buy a better card "when" prices fall again?

Wait...were you asking me? I don't have either of those cards. I've got a Vega 56, RX 580, and GT 710....but I'm also looking for new card.

Would it be naïve to sell my Vega 56 for $$$ to buy a better card "when" prices fall again?

Alright, I've got a basic setup running. I'm surprised at the level of automation that's been devised. Some of the steps he (video poster) mentioned has already been simplified further. I installed all the miners (plugins) then ran the benchmark and I guess it decided itself which to run because...

Would it be naïve to sell my Vega 56 for $$$ to buy a better card "when" prices fall again?

I'll probably give it a try. I've got an open-air test bench in the living room with a complete setup made of scrap parts installed onto it. I guess I could install my Vega on it for experimentation because I don't trust this mining business enough to involve my main rig. It works out because...

Would it be naïve to sell my Vega 56 for $$$ to buy a better card "when" prices fall again?

I knew someone would say that... I have ZERO experience with mining. Some might say learning how to mine for such purposes might be an overcomplication in and of itself, but I'm curious how many else think this is a good idea.

I don't expect prices to come down soon. I can wait about a yr or so.

Would it be naïve to sell my Vega 56 for $$$ to buy a better card "when" prices fall again?

My 580 only has 4GB. I figure I can still manage with older titles like Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Control, and Shadow of War, right?

Would it be naïve to sell my Vega 56 for $$$ to buy a better card "when" prices fall again?

    1. Right now I'm playing only Destiny 2 on PC. I've been pre-occupied with PS4 classics lately as well. Right now I'm going through Horizon Zero Dawn for console. On PC, I plan on continuing Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Control, and Middle-earth: Shadow of War. 2. My thinking was that I'd be ready...

Would it be naïve to sell my Vega 56 for $$$ to buy a better card "when" prices fall again?

I've got a Vega 56 and a GT 710 in my main Ryzen desktop and I've got an RX 580 in my HTPC. I was thinking of taking advantage of the GPU pricing situation by selling my Vega 56 for cash and then use the money to buy a better graphics card when/if the prices come back to normal. I figure I could...

How do I install a laptop HDD without the metal bracket/caddy?

I've got a normal 2.5' HDD. I went ahead and used an adhesive/tape/gel hybrid material (the same one I linked to above). I can tell you with certainty that that HDD won't be going anywhere. If anything, it might have worked too well. it might prove difficult to remove, but I think it can be...

How do I install a laptop HDD without the metal bracket/caddy?

I've got an old laptop off of Ebay that didn't include a HDD or it's bracket. Is there a method of securing a HDD to its laptop port without the HDD bracket/caddy? Would you recommend using tape or some sort of adhesive tack? I've done some research but there doesn't seem to be any conventional...

Subscribe to Geforce Now until prices and availability improve. You'll be able to play all your games on steam, origin, Uplay, Epic etc. There's a little input delay, but otherwise it's a perfectly viable solution. I actually think this use case is the PERFECT application of cloud gaming.

AMD Bulldozer 'Core' Lawsuit: AMD Settlement

Sounds fair enough. I only asked as an educational exercise because, given my use case, I couldn't conceive of needing to dedicate an entire PC build for a file server as the most demand I ever place on my network storage would be an occasional Bluray Rip, Steam Backup, or system image transfer...

AMD Bulldozer 'Core' Lawsuit: AMD Settlement

    7950 Replacement options

I think the 7950 is within the range of an RX 560 - GTX 1050 ti. Because of the Crypto-inflation, I'd go Nvidia. AMD cards have really been jacked up because of mining.
