i'm not sure if its possible, but i've had issues with upgrades in general (even from 10.5 to 10.6), so i'd suggest a clean install of SL. back up her drive, fresh install of SL, then migrate.

using your phone as a WAP is better than cutting up your sim and putting it into the ipad. if you go that route, you cant receive calls when you put your sim in the ipad.

you might want to look into getting an ssd. running parallels on my mbp (4gb ddr3) with a hdd made me not want to use it at all.

how often do you add new music? you can mount your windows server drive on your mbp, then import music through itunes by browsing to your server drive (make sure to copy files to itunes media when adding or else you wont be able to listen to music when you're not connected to your server)...

i'd just boot back into osx and re-do it all from the beginning. make sure you reformat the windows partition to ntfs (by default bootcamp assistant formats it fat32)

shouldn't matter. you might run into issues with upgrade versions (the win7 needs to pick up a previous windows installation). even without it you can call in and talk to CS and they'll activate it for you.
