EVGA has a Step-Up program for consideration (I've used it, took 65 days to get new card, kept old one until they shipped). Qualifying card owners have 90 days from date of purchase to register for Step-Up. Although there is no guarantee that the 1080Ti will be added to the Step-Up Inventory...
new PC: Win7Pro64 - Win10Pro Dual Boot
old PC: Win Vista 64 (currently using daily) - Win XP 32 (rarely active, no online use) Dual Boot
Galaxy S4 and S5: Android
Well, now that you've mentioned it, it'd definitely be over the top if you polished the aluminum plates. Makes me think of when I polished all of the aluminum on my (former) 5.7 TPI 1989 IROC-Z28. I used an Aluminum Manifold Polishing Kit from Eastwood Restoration. It'd be just a little more...
I'll likely get the EVGA AIO for the GTX 1080 that I'll be upgrading to. They will be released sometime around the middle of July and will have separate SKUs to cover the reference and the custom EVGA PCBs.
If I still had a fat budget, I'd like to use the EK Predator 360 AIO, pre-filled, and...
Simply split it in half. More than enough space for a dual-boot Win 7/Win 10.
Consider minimizing SSD activity/usage by saving files and installing all programs/games to a hard drive. Also, do not defrag your SSD.

Looks to me like 6 versions, assuming the GEFORCE GTX 1080 is the FE edition

Likely, but I'll wait until 30 June (last day to Step-Up at EVGA), if necessary, in hopes of getting a non-FE SC something with an ACX config. I'm still setting up the new system and have barely used the 980 Ti yet. The cost to upgrade for me is minimal compared to what I've already spent...
I use the free version of Spotify, and they have a Science Fiction section with War of the Worlds (51 chapters), The Foundation Trilogy, amongst other good stuff. Excellent listening.
I've just set up a dual-boot also. 7 & 10. On 10, I only use Chrome, not Cortana, nor Edge, and have resisted the temptation to download any windows apps to reduce any possible bloat. I linked my documents/downloads to a hard drive to save space on the SSD. I'm sure there are more items to...
Hey, Devildog! Thanks for your service! No such thing as "just". I liked being a Sergeant so much that I did it twice.
Had almost a year in grade when I got out the first time, went back years later as the senior LCpl in the Corps,
made it back to Sgt in two years. Viet-Nam Era and Desert...
Update: I used Arctic Silver Arcticlean Thermal material Remover & Surface Purifier to remove the factory applied thermal pad (coffee filters for the lint-free rag). Applied a pea sized amount of NT-H1. Idle temp shows in UEFI as 29C, so it looks normal so far.
New build. Thermaltake Water 3.0 Riing 360 RGB AIO. Ordered Noctua NT-H1 Thermal Compound for the install, but now see that there is already factory applied paste. Should I replace it with the NT-H1 or use factory? Nothing in the AIO install instructions covers thermal paste. Thanks
Yes, Thanks :) I usually build a new rig every five years, so it's time. But I'd like to get another year out of this one. I just ran across another thread where the OP runs an E8400 and was essentially asking the same question. Based on the responses he got, it would appear that the most...
Hi All!
I've been running two of the EVGA 8800GTS G92 in SLI for almost five years now and feel it's about time to upgrade. I could use some input on which video cards would be the best replacement based on my system specs. I don't think I really need to continue the two card SLI route. Would...
