CL40 4800 DDR5 is super weak. I would like to see a much better kit paired here. 6400 CL32 can have uplifts of 20-25 percent in some titles compared to the JDEC spec 4800.
I would say a huge difference considering the PG32UQX has been tested to be around 1200 nits at Full Screen and around 1600 at 10 percent. But with those OLED blacks, it will be a very interesting panel.
I am very intrigued by this monitor. Should be a big step in the right direction for PC gamers.
.
I agree. Actually the OD-OLED is going to be really interesting. I hope that any sort of burn in can be mitigated as it is the only real downfall I see of that product. Well that and the 1440p resolution. After being spoiled by the PPI of 4k, its hard to go back. IMO 1000 nits is perfect and...
HDR in the form of an FALD backlight. HDR gaming is the main selling point of the PG32UQX, and IMO, is one of the biggest upgrades any gamer can make when it comes to pure eye candy and immersion.
Anyone else with the PG32UQX bummed that Dying Light 2 has no HDR? Man, that was a disappointment as this game with all the RT enabled would have been perfect.
Sucks to hear so many have problems with HDR in windows. I wonder if a lot of it comes down to OS corruption. I have been using HDR with windows 10 and now 11 since 2018 and have not had a single issue. I upgrade yearly to the newest platform in which I do a fresh install, so maybe that has...
I know some are not mechanically inclined, but I don't understand how something like this was missed. Although, I get yelled at daily for not seeing things right in front of my face by the wifey, so I guess no I do understand.
For me it is the PG32UQX. Its absolutely an incredible monitor. FALD tech still has a long way to go, but it really has been one of the biggest upgrades I have ever experienced in my 20 years of PC gaming.
I had a similar expierence when trying out the PG35 from my PG27. The PPI and perceivable Blur and black crush was something I could not stand. It was amazing how much clearer the 27inch model is.
Oh your right, I stand corrected. I double checked with TFT central. Here is the quote.
"It should be noted that unlike some other Native G-sync screens the 10-bit colour depth is available even at 4K 144Hz thanks to the inclusion of Display Stream Compression (DSC) on the DP 1.4 connection...
The PG32UQX is a true 10 bit panel at 144hz. No Chroma Subsampling required. Honestly, the colors on the PG32UQX are the best on any display I have ever seen.
Interesting comparison. I have the PG32UQX, and I have never noticed the fan noise. Its whisper quiet. The panel uniformity on my unit is also really incredible. As mentioned in other threads, I think I won the panel lottery on this one. Sadly, a monitor at this price point should not have...
In some situations with tones of grey and blue in games, halos are more noticeable. But you really have to go out of your way to try and find these areas. Blooming around Crosshairs are something that can be noticeable in dark scenes that I think the 27in variants handles better.
I don't think anyone here knows how to get into the service menu. And No, Its not that bad. It is absolutely a step up compared to the X27 and PG27. With that said, It does tend to struggle more in certain scenes.
