NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

Appreciate all the help everyone! I located 4 more brackets and still had the same issue so I took a note from Frazhna's fix and basically just velcro strapped the SSDs together and put a big thermal pad in between them. Gave it the old shake test and neither SSD came off. I'll monitor the temps...

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

V5.0. Also should have included this before. Thanks to both you and Brenex for trying to assist too. This is my 2nd NCase and I can't recall if the first one was V1 or not since it was purchased second hand. I will try to look for additional brackets and see if there are any spacing differences.

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

Even if I take out the power and data cables it still doesn't close properly... Should have done this in the first place, but here are my photos:

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

I've got it the exact same as you including the bracket except the connectors are pointing downwards. But even without any wires connected, the front aluminum panel doesn't properly close over it for me. It will close, but not tightly so if a slight amount of pressure is applied, then the front...

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

Does anyone else have two SSDs (held together with the included bracket) mounted where the optical drive should go? I have 2 850 Pros there and I cannot get the front panel to close completely (either the left or right push pins are secure, but not both). Is this normal?

NVIDIA Announces The New Titan X

Have you encountered any issues and what are your temps like? Thinking about doing this myself since I'm impatient and EVGA seems to be super slow rolling out hybrid kits.

    EVGA Dark (New X79)

I've got one. Board is solid, but like you said the fan headers are a bit odd. I will be constructing a WC loop anyway though so I won't need it in a bit. Had an odd occurrence of having to reset CMOS on cold-boots every time seemingly because of an incompatibility or some error with the...

    Ivy Bridge 5GHZ Benchmarks

Yup, we definitely need a Prime95 run. IBT maybe too much torture for 5GHz. I kept getting higher temps for IBT for Ivy vs. Sandy, but Prime was much closer between the two. Grats on being one of the lucky few to have a 5GHz chip!

EVGA GTX 690 is live on Newegg

Probably. And they could probably gouge too. I bet the e-tailers are not getting big discounts anyway since the quantity is so minimal. But to EVGA, those are guaranteed sales

help build computer with 2 gtx 690 sli setup

Dual 690s is a pretty big waste, especially for a first time builder. What is or are your plans for a monitor setup? Even one 690 will be great for a tri-1080p setup so having 690s in SLI is a bit excessive. But, hey... It's your money so splurge if you want. Gigatexal recommended some...

GTX 680 crashing Heaven at stock settings.

Glad they took care of it since the card is definitely defective if it cannot finish a Heaven run. Did you try any other benches like 3DMark11? Or maybe an intensive game?

    120Hz missing on startup (GTX 680 & Samsung S27A750D)

Same monitor, same problems. 120Hz is awesome, but the monitor is really starting to piss me off. Have to reset configuration every start up, 100Hz vs 120Hz, Display is not in Optimum Mode once a day...

    3930K or 3770K ?

Why even ask then? If money is no object, then the more expensive one will usually be better. In this case, you're getting 6 cores over 4 so anything that can take advantage of multiple cores/threads will see an improvement (sometimes large, sometimes small) on the 3930K. Just be sure to get a...

    Best Buy CEO Resigns

Actually, this is what happens when your business model relies entirely on $1000 HDMI cables and trying to upsell everything with extended warranties and accessories. No doubt BB will around, but they will shift their priorities to whatever is most profitable for them (which makes sense). If...

What?! Maybe for TVs, movies, and games, but wow are their computers and computer components overpriced. It's just not a proper computer store. Imo, BB will shift into the mobile phone sales heavily as they have discovered a large portion of their sales are from that.

Here's a huge reason why I prefer NVIDIA drivers over AMD

Religion, politics, national pride... At least those feel like an end all situation (still stupid to fight over, but traditionally, it's been done many times over). But no... 4GB GTX 680's showing up in Europe.

If it's $600 for a non-reference PCB and a aftermarket cooler, it's not so bad. $100 extra for the same design, same PCB, with a blower is a terrible deal over the normal 680.
  37. C

    Wait or buy now?

If you can wait, wait. Non-reference 680s should be coming out by the end of this month. Likewise, with the introduction of other 680 cards, it should begin to open up stock a little more. Finally, with the stock available on the 680s, we should hopefully see a price drop on the 7970s.

Is the Corsair AX1200 enough for 3-way SLI GTX 680?

I like the way these next gen cards are shifting in terms of efficiency. No longer do we need to spend $300 for a Platinum, titanium, neodymium+ rated PSU for enthusiast level builds.

    pcie 3.0 vs 2.0

Tests will come when the 680 is officially supporting 3.0. I've already seen some other people testing the difference of 680 SLI at x16/x16 PCI 3.0 and x8/x8 PCI 2.0 and the difference was minimal at 1980x1080 and very significant at 3 1080p monitors.
