So I search all Samsung Forums and found a way to fix it, just in case others have similar issue. They used this for TV's that switch to another input when the source is turned on, though it worked for my case as well.
This is the solution for the HDMI auto-detect
So today I received 1220 update on my 40" KU6300, after searching online it seems it's fixing some HDR issues and changelog is:
- Model : KU6290, KU6300, KU630D, KU6500, KU650D, KU6600
- Version : 1220.6
- Improved usability 1. Improved browser performance 2. Improved app performance 3...
I noticed this with the latest firmware, since I've been setting my Win10 display setting to 4:2:2 10 bits (HDR), every so often my TV settings switches from PC to HDMI1/DVI on its own on subsequent reboots
4:2:2 / 10 bits allows HDR to work, I tested it with No Man's Sky and it looked very nice, though my fps was halved (not sure why)
It doesn't look good in Desktop, so I have to turn HDR off unfortunately.
I am using this on Windows 10 , 16278 rs3 build
I installed Fall creator update today (insider build), and the HDR mode will automatically switch to the best color format/bit depth, seems a bit nicer than going through the nvidia panel each time, the only drawback is that when you disable HDR, it goes back to RGB 8 bit and not 4:4:4 8 bit...
I've been trying to get HDR working on my PC (Windows 10, Nvidia 1080GTX) and I've had some issues, my settings are as follow:
HDMI UHD Color (On for HDMI1)
Using PC for HDMI1
3840x2160(native) @ 60HZ
If I set the output color to 4:2:2, I can use any color depths (8, 10, 12 bits) and HDR...
I had some weird issues happening today after a few updates, unfortunately since they happened at the same time, not sure which one caused this.
I installed the latest Windows 10 creators update, my Samsung updated to 1168 and I also updated my Nvidia drivers for 1080 GTX to 381.65
I am having issues on latest firmware (1165) with my PC (nvidia 1080gtx)
if I turn on the PC then the TV, I don't get any signal detected on the TV ever, forcing me to shutdown the PC and turn it back on.
so, I have to turn on the TV first, then the PC to get it working.
Though it could also...
So I've had this TV for my Gaming PC Monitor and so far it's been running flawlessly. I am on latest firmware as well.
Are there any tutorials to test HDR going (either via the built-in streaming apps) or running my games in HDR mode ?
p.s the corruption (blue patches on screen) only...
so the artifacts went away:
I guess the consent dialog boxes were pre-update, even though I have auto-update set to on (maybe I'll turn it off from now on)
I manually forced 1154 and it installed / restarted the TV but all the menus were very slow upon restart so that scared me a little bit...
I love this display, and I'd like to thank everyone of you who posted information here as well as the sticky note where it said how to setup the Samsung TV's with the PC in the forum. I purchased it this week from Best Buy ($350) to replace a 7 year old 27" Samsung Syncmaster 1080p monitor/tv...
