I want to build a host machine for my office. Something that will hold about 5~10 VMs with 12 ~16 GB each, depending on what makes more sense financially, I might consider getting two instead of 1.
How do I go about researching this?
I've created a Hyper-V server with 24GB of ram and...
Yeah, so the applications we use can run into hundreds of GBs of ram if you let them, but sometimes you would have to change the whole servers to do that. I'm trying to investigate into using an SSD as an intermediate option.
Ok, this is not your usual application.
I want to know if anyone has been using SSDs specifically for swap, nothing else. Whether it be on Linux or Windows. Specifically on a SAS environment.
Even if you haven't, and you've thought about it, which Drive would you use? I know swap basically...
They're both around $325. I don't know which one to get.
I do have a 8800 GT which I wanna use as a physx card. I understand it can be done with hacked drivers for the ATI card.

Hi guys, I'm in the market for a new card. I don't know what to do since I currently have a 8800 SLI. My monitor is 1920x1200 and I've been playing metro 2033 and starcraft beta (currently closed). I'm looking into playing the new Fallout when it comes out and that type of games.
try looking for a screensaver that will run a program in the background. then look for a program that can send a serial signal. Most TV's have a serial port for automation and can receive a signal to turn the tv off. If you pc does not have a serial port, get a usb to serial converter.
I guess for this I would have to use two remotes, if it does work. Is there anyway I can have the PC turn on and off the TV with the blaster? that way I can just cover the IR receiver.
I'm not using the tv for anything else.
