I guess only GPU engineers can answer that question.
The rest of us can only guess from our experiences.
I've had one Asus GTX 670 die on me after a year or so. The second one (also the exact same card) lasted for years after that and it also eventually died.
My 1080Tis never died but they were...
I know there are ITX cases where you can put a 360 CPU AIO and another 240 radiator (I'd probably get one of those high-end AIO 240 GPUs) and a few fans.
I've seen some people do custom watercooling (hardline!) in ITX and it's just amazing they have the patience for that, lol. Computer building...
I live in Sweden, the heat is not a problem even during the summer.
The setup with its 15 fans (13 case and 2 gpu) is very silent. I'd rather have many silent fans than few loud ones. And the looks fit well in the theme of my apartment.
I will never build a hardline box again. That's too much...
I'm more about aesthetics nowadays than top performance. It's more fun to build something special than just throw parts together and call it a day.
I have built basically everything there is except LN2 cooling system. From ITX to tower ATX to hardline custom cooling box that cost me above...
I have a PS5 if I want to play more games. This 3060 is supposed to be a temporary solution. It plays WoW, Lost Ark, Guild Wars 2 just fine at 4k which I found to be very surprising. I did not expect this much from it.
The problem is I need a white GPU for my system. I don't want to overpay for...
I just bought a 3060 because I couldn't live with integrated GPU. I wanted to play some MMORPGs like WoW and edit videos. Found one for €400 which is more expensive than usual, but I wanted a white card for my all white build.
Well, color me surprised, but this 3060 is able to run everything at...
I just turned 38 and yeah, not quite there yet, but curious enough to read, (almost) (b)old enough to comment.
Reading the posts got me a bit worried, although when I read between the lines, the hidden message is "don't get kids".
Fortunately I have none. It keeps me young at heart and the 24...
It's on now, but turning it off didn't do anything. I think there must be some wierd bug with the bios.
If I change core 0 from 5.3ghz to 5.1ghz and then back to 5.3ghz, it still stays at 5.1ghz in Windows and doesn't want to go above. Even though I did not do any other changes.
I have to load...
So I'm trying to get the best out of my 12600k because reasons :)
I'm sure you understand.
I am able to run it (GHz, per p-core) 5.3, 5.1, 5.1, 5.1, 5.1, 5.1 and e-cores at 4.1GHz.
V-core at 1.29v.
I have 2 problems with the above.
Problem 1:
When running Cinebench R23 single core benchmark...
Bumping my own thread. I actually decided to build a new computer, some 8 months after I created this thread.
The main reason is that I got tired of my old PC and wanted something new. I'm sure you know the feeling. And also new LGA1700 supporting pretty much everything next-gen as well as...
So according to rather accurate leaks, 4070 is on par with 3090. That will be interesting. About €700 for a €2000+ card.
Excited to see if there will be any GeForce info on Computex tomorrow (there probably will).
I can see Nvidia doing this, but limiting 4070 to 8gb or 10gb. If 4080 is at 450w...
Lol they're selling mystery boxes with random shit in. Well at least it's not selling for more than what a new headset costs. But on another side it's refurbished, so....
They're also doing the same for accessories.
So I'm getting rid of my integrated sound card as I'm unhappy with Creative Command app that is very buggy for me (currently using SoundBlasterX AE-5 Plus).
I've been looking at:
Creative G6 (€150) (I'm a bit wary of their drivers as they have sucked for me even with older Z and ZxR cards)...
Hmmmm, I think the smartest thing to do would be to wait.
In a month or two people are going to start panic selling their cards, so regardless if you're after the current or next gen, you should just hoooooold for a little more.
I sold my 3080 in April so when the new cards are announced I'll...
Hmmm it costs €1600 in Sweden, while 6900XT costs €1250 or so (found a good deal).
Meanwhile 3080Ti is €1400.
3090 is still €2000+.
It's the second fastest card at 4k, faster than 3090 Ti at 1080p/1440p, but those resolutions I care nothing about...
I've been pondering a lot now that I've sold my old pc with i9-9900k.
I bought the first gen Galaxy laptop which has i7-11965g which is the lower limit I would use now that I've tested it. I have to run the laptop in silent mode or else it's too loud for me.
That CPU is too weak for anything...
Oh man those new low power CPUs are definitely worth it.
I game at 4k where CPU is less of an issue and do Lightroom photo editing as well as some light video editing, so I think even as low as i7-1260p would be good enough as I'm happy with what I have now.
And if I go for those higher power...
I'm thinking mainly Core i7-1260P as I want an ultrabook + GPU enclosure when the next gen cards hit the market. That would put me into a better position for 4k gaming than what I have now (3080).
9900k is overclocked to 4.7ghz all core.
I can't really find any great comparison besides this...
Yes, you get the point :-)
So getting that 6800m would probably be a good idea considering it's faster than 3070 and as fast as a 3080 laptop, but as cheap as a 3070.
So I'm thinking about going less power, less noise and more portable.
I have currently 9900k clocked to 4.7ghz, 3080 and 32gb 3600mhz ddr4, as well as 48" LG C1.
With 4xxx cards rumored to be power hogs, I just don't see them being a lot more effective in laptops than current gen, besides they...
The more I'm reading about this game the more I'm getting interested.
I never liked Soul-like games. It was too linear for my taste and I missed the open world that rewards you for exploring a cave you stumbled upon.
And while I was not fond of insanely hard monsters in Souls-games, open world...
Here you go if you want to watch:
8nm Samsung is pretty bad compared to 7nm TMSC, and Lovelace is using 5nm TMSC.
With cranked up TDP and Nvidias own infinity cache, I can see it happening, especially since the competition is heating up.
MLID is even claiming that Nvidia is doing this to be...
Apparently the next gen will be some 80-120% faster than current gen.
MLID just put out a video. I trust his sources, especially when he claims the leak is very very likely correct.
I will sell my 3080 in a few months since I rarely game during the summer and if needed, I got my PS5 which I use...
Putin is literaly messing around in the middle of Europe and doing whatever he wants.
I live in Sweden, people are hysteric in the whole EU, everyone is arming up.
If Russia can invade a county in Europe, I don't see why China wouldn't find an excuse to finally take over Taiwan.
They already did...
With Russia invading Ukraine and the western response being very very weak, I'm 90% sure China will attempt the same with Taiwan.
Which means you might want to stock on cheap €1500 RTX 3080 GPUs and sell them later for €5000 so you can afford that €10.000 4090/7900XT because we're in for another...
Mixed feelings about the game.
I have some 65 hours so far and a lvl 50 Soulfist. The combat is fun, although it does get repetitive a lot. The world design is nice and I like the visuals.
The monsters are not interesting.
Voice acting, quest design and the story are absolute trash.
European...
World of Warcraft: unknown, but topping the list by far. Probably over 10.000 hours
Lineage II: probably some 2000 hours back in the day
Rocket League: around 900-1000 hours spread over PS5 and Steam (Steam only is at 709 hours)
Town of Salem: 324 hours
Rust: 269 hours
Arma 3: 165 hours

Those thinking they will get ARPG experience a la Diablo/Path of Exile will be disappointed.
Think MU Online. Or Black Desert Online isometric. This is a MMORPG and not ARPG.
I repeat, this is not ARPG. It does not share much compared to traditional ARPG except the top down view.
The loot is...
I caved in and canceled my Lenovo P11 Pro order and will be ordering Tab S8+.
The reason being is that the if I preorder, I get it for €50 less, as well as a free Book Cover Keyboard, normal or slim version, which is around €150-250 value.
It will also be delivered faster than Lenovo, while...
I want to know how that Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 performs in a tablet. In phones they are not bad, but I assume that in a tablet it will be able to perform even better.
Not on pair with M1 GPU-wise according to Antutu, but compared to Snapdragon 888+, Snapdragon 8 got huge GPU upgrade, around 50%...
I currently have Note 10+ and have no plans to upgrade to a similar phone that is only a bit faster :)
I can't believe I've had this phone since before Covid, it feels forever ago :ROFLMAO:, but it's still a very capable phone for all my needs (music, social media and web browsing).
Has a bit...
Can it crash already, like really crash? Like, back to 2016? I missed the train and maybe we can rewind time. I need to get rich :D
I keep missing the fucking train, boat, plane, life. Ethereum was $120 only a couple of years ago. It went 40x in a year. That's insanity for such a big coin.
I...
I have 650+ games on my Steam but those were from the days of Humble Bundle subs. I don't think I've played more than 10% of those games.
Diablo 4 is pretty much the only game I'm going full out on. I absolutely love what they have shown so far and IMO nothing will come close to it.
CE physical...
