Agree. Now also do what I'm doing. I won't buy a used card no matter what. Make them eat the hardware cost. It will discourage them from going bonkers again.
Was going to say basically this.
I have two kids. The rule is no "entertainment" electronics (laptops, tablets, phones, etc.) in the bedroom after bed time. Period. Non entertainment electronics are fine, ie. an alarm clock.
It really is that simple. Set up a rule. Enforce it. Done.
Was cautiously optimistic since they had a good long time to put this together (matrix 4). The caution was warranted. This movie was boring to the point I didn't even bother finishing it - Where we go from there is a choice I leave to you.
If you're going to charge me a fee beyond the cost of the product to simply shop at your store then I won't buy anything there. It's really that simple.
Big one on that list is Target. They just lost all of my weekly business.
Not surprising. This is what you get when your computing devices are "magic" and "just work". Kids get tablets and they use a touch interface to Launch colorful apps (not executable programs). They never interact with or even see the folder structure so why is it a surprise they don't know...
Similar, the big difference to me is the Intel parts always seemed to get better - likely due to manufacturing process maturity, the products did not go backwards. G0 stepping was better than B3, but it came out after B3. Hard to complain about products getting better as time goes on...
I've soured on them somewhat. I had two 450 watt Seasonic Focus Gold +'s fail. No real power load on them, media center PCs without a dedicated video card so they had a pretty "easy" life, not cooped up in a closed box either so heat wasn't an issue. One at my home and one at my parents...
Meh, I'll stick with my 7700K. I did want to upgrade my MB/CPU/Video card but with the vendors chasing short term profits over prioritizing availability for long term customers, F em', I'll spend my money elsewhere.
I'd replace the battery in my 3.5 year old phone and keep using it but i can't. Verizon att and tmo are shuting down their 3g networks at the end of the year. My phone uses 3g for calling and 4g for data. It doesn't support volte so my only choice is to get a damn new phone or not have voice...
Just what we need.. a slow ass vehicle that has no qualms about driving down the center median of the road.
Oh, and the whole point of ordering delivery is so I don't have to go out in the rain etc. to get it. With this I'll still have to walk out to the curb and get soaked....
Thanks, but...
Hope the hacker offers them the opportunity to not release the source code for a "micro transaction". Maybe after a few days they can shut down that version of the microtransaction software... and offer to sell them the newest version of source code hack (2.0!) with a new no release source code...
Ok. I'll give you a reason or two you don't want this....
Let's start here: https://aws.amazon.com/iot-core/pricing/?nc=sn&loc=4
Amazon isn't just intending on giving their devices access to make services better. They're opening it up to other device makers... and selling access to it.
A...
I'm not hard set on UBNT and in fact I don't like how their newer stuff requires a cloud controller. I like running my own stuff inside my network.
Thanks for the suggestions. I'll keep PFsense in mind, was hoping for something more prepackaged than rolling my own device, but if that's what...
Internet speeds upgrade to 400mbit down.
Current network Gear:
Edgerouter Lite ER3 Router
Dell 5448 Powerconnect switch
UniFi Pro AP / Unifi AC-Lite AP
I am doing traffic shaping on the Edgerouter and it looks like it can't go past ~100mbit with shaping enabled. CPU is maxed at ~100mbit...
I almost never reboot my ubi gear. The only firmware I update is for the edgerouter 3 from 2014 and that is because it's exposed to the Internet. The rest of the gear is still running the shipped firmware and an old controller. For an idea of how old some of it is, I have the original UAP pro...
If you go to the store to check stock and the attendant savagely beats you with a brick until you permanently lose vision in one eye. Then he also tells you they don't have any in stock while you lie there on the ground writhing in pain and blood.
MS has a history with this.....
Anyone remember their other chatbot? Tay AI. The one that was a racist Nazi and was tweeting pro Hitler stuff.
I won't post pics here because it's definitely NSFW, but if you want to read the MS AI posts you can here...
I'll just keep my cars that I own and paid off. Thanks. Proper maintenance (lube points, oil, transmission, differential, coolant, etc.) and garaging your vehicle regularly should make them last a long time.
Like most possessions, it's a tool. If it reliably and efficiently does it's job no...
Your post gave me a reminder from a blast from the past. Anyone remember this?

I use a htpc for all of my media. I dont trust smart devices at all. We skip having any "smart" amazon echos etc. It really isn't that hard to take 30 seconds and use the amazon website to order something.
Streaming services have websites and the old Lenovo HTPC remotes work great. Htpc...
Nah, I make no mistake about it. My fence has a few signs on it that say "Guard dog on duty". No mistake of what it's there for.
In all honesty I don't care if some porch pirate thief gets fucked up by my dog. I have a lot of insurance for that and other reasons. As far as I'm concerned I...
