An option for you depending on mobo is going the Xeon route. Starting with the e3-1245 v5 is rough equal to a 6700. Around $60 on ebay. 1270/75/85 are like 3.6ghz with boost at 4ghz. Xeon V6 is Kabylake but they seem to go for a lot more on ebay, basically same as 7700k prices...

Its Steam demo week again. Anyone find any good demos to try? I'm looking at Terra Invicta for 4x and Agent 64 for fps.

I've been running a refurb HP haswell i5 since 2017 for daily web surfing use. It came with a 120gb ssd, I just added a 500gb one a couple of years later.
The bumps on the end of the light, can be used as a weapon of sorts. I had some lights several years ago from costco that got killed by some bad costco brand batteries exploding and corroding the contacts.

Yes I have a NAS, several actually but even in my itx builds I usually want room for 1 3.5'' HDD or a 2.5'' drive, ssd or hdd let alone an atx or matx build. Local storage is king for any number of reasons. Laptops are the only thing that I have gone to ssd only with.
They have achieved Origin launcher status! Years later. I usually just redownload the games as I dont want to babysit the whole thing like you said. One more reason I avoid the launcher as much as possible.
It also doesn't help that the new games list seems even slower than before in loading up...
Monopoly on access perhaps. Despite the fact there is plenty of price competition on Steam compared to other stores. Though lately those other stores (ubisoft, epic, origin, gog) have started to allow that access to approved 3rd party sellers.
US state gov run schools have never been a strict...
Eh, I use websites to check game prices these days. isthereanydeal and gg.deals. Steam's pop-ups get annoying enough, I don't need them from Epic too especially because Epic launcher usually takes 5-10s every time I pop out of a game to refresh itself and its game list screen has gotten slower...
Yes but you must have an Epic account linked to your Steam account to still play the game. From the Steam forums for the game:
"Starting with v1.79, all players will require an Epic Games Account to play Rocket League. Existing Steam players will not need to download the EG Launcher, but can...
The irony being is that Tim Sweeney and Epic Games were yelling about the MS store along with Valve back in 2012. Now all of a sudden Tim has no problem with exclusives on PC.
Eh, lots of them over the past 3-5 years through humble bundles and other bundle sites. Are you going to go after the consoles too for their 30% cut and pricing structure? In most cases for PC games, especially new ones if I want to buy on GoG I am paying more to get the DRM free version because...
If you haven't bought it by now, wait for a sale. If you care about the mortal/immortal empires big map, wait till its beta in late summer at the earliest. If you really want the new races and to try out the campaign, find a good sale price. Honestly, I regret picking it up just before launch...
Eh, many people have pointed out the graphical issues with the new overmap. Maybe they've fixed them. The game has dropped off massively in players over the past 2 months and I'm not paying close attention to it now. Its had more active player loss than Rome2 did. Watching the multiplayer bugs...
Yeah, lets just say I'll never trust Larian again. I'd had a pretty decent experience with Divinity OS2 but I let that cloud my judgment. I've also gotten tired of the frequent full reinstalls of 60GB or more every few months.
It is funny. I had sort of made peace with the various issues of first gen ryzen and mobo support. AMD finally deciding now that they have competition to admit they were lying on 300 series board support for the last 3-4 years as well as lowering prices and offering new variants has made me...
