thank you, i ordered a service remote from Bezos. it just seems like a poorly designed feature. i understand why max total brightness should be reduced (when displaying pure white for example) but what the hell was LG thinking when deciding to dim an ALREADY dim picture?!
is there a way to disable this auto-dimming feature that dims the screen when it (apparently) detects lack of picture movement/change, esp with a fairly dark image? for example, i've been playing Flight Simulator, doing a lot of night flying (which is an amazing showcase for OLED, btw) but it...
actually that was a false alarm. my PC has been solid so far, every day since swapping the power supply. i have not had a single Nvidia driver-related event since. interestingly though, the GPU 8 pin voltage values reported in hwinfo were the same or maybe even a tinge less - but i know that's...
thanks guys. the reason i'm asking is because i recently started running into games CTDing at random over the past few weeks. at first i thought it was an Nvidia driver problem but that's definitely not the case as i tried rolling back to various older versions (including ones i definitely had...
we all know that current (and upcoming) GPUs can be extremely hungry for power, in some cases exceeding 350 watts under load. same with many higher end CPUs.
my question is, how does an insufficient power supply manifest in terms of symptoms during normal use? like say you tried to put a 3080...
so my pc has been crashing (mostly while gaming, but tbf that's mostly all this pc does) frequently enough to start making me scratch my head. i didn't think it might be hardware related for a while as the crashes were 'benign' (no BSODS or hard locks, just the games closing without error...
my c1 continues to blow me away, in both picture quality and features. it's so nice having stuff like the optical out and ARC/eARC support which is stuff that regular PC monitors usually don't have, and that's icing on the cake with the amazing picture quality. i still can't get over what it's...
serious question, do you actually play video games or do you only load them up to do benchmarking and compare frame rates with videos you find on youtube?
cool, today i found out that you can in fact output true dolby surround from a pc connected to a c1 via hdmi and from the tv to a receiver via optical out. you just have to install the free 'dolby access' app from MS Store, and then you can select "Dolby Atmos" in the sound control panel app and...
so i should've tried this sooner, but i connected my c1 to my old el cheapo Yamaha receiver with an optical cable, then changed the audio device type in my ps5's settings to AVR, 5.1 channel, and DTS for the format, and now i get to use my surround sound properly with my ps5 instead of being...
idk if it's the 512.15 drivers or what, but my PC has been crashing while gaming quite a bit. however i also installed a 3080 ti recently so i can't be sure if it's the new card, although temps and everything are fine and there are none of the typical symptoms of a bad or failing gpu. it *seems*...
yeah, for that price, if you liked 4 and understand that 76 is a somewhat different type of game, you should have a pretty good time. even moreso if you really like the Fallout setting and lore in general.
there aren't that many events overall in the game that make you drive the really slow mundane stuff. the cafe mode has a few right at the start but then it moves right along to sport compact (Integra Type R, that type of stuff) and up, for the most part. you should have fun if you enjoy a more...
there's an issue with FH5 currently, as i found out today... the game crashes on the regular with the latest fanatec v439 driver. there's a work around of using 2 year old v434 drivers but they don't support the GT DD Pro :/ so i wouldn't get it for FH5 until it gets patched (apparently the...
wow, this game feels surprisingly good with my Fanatec GT DD. way way better than i thought it would. it felt like crap at first (way too much general resistance) but i just had to turn the damping slider all the way down and now i'd say it's as nearly good as most sims i play (not as good as...
just a quick lap from daily race C qualifying using the dd pro:
it's soooo nice to be able to use a wheel in GT7, i can just be that much more accurate and consistent.
every time i try this game, excited by new updates, i get extremely bored by how much time is spent shooting crystals or plants for materials and stop playing after a couple of hours.
oh yeah, i forgot to add - while i haven't been able to actually try anything in-game yet, i LOVE the csl pedals. the throttle is like the CSL v3's that i had before, very smooth, pretty long throw and just the right amount of resistance. the brake pedal though, feels SO good (as someone who has...
bleh, i couldn't try my DD pro yet because i needed to come up with a way to mount the base... my sim rig has no provision for adjusting angle of the wheel base and the DD Pro base mounts completely flat, making it unusable in my case :/ so i brain stormed for a while and realized i'd have to...
there certainly will be a week 2 of anyone is interested! i'm thinking bathurst and gr.4.
edit: also i'm pretty hyped, my GT DD Pro is out for delivery today.. but they shipped the clutch pedal only yesterday so that won't be here until Friday :/ i guess i'll try it without my Fanatec shifter...
nothing about that footage strikes me as something that would need a 3090.. that could have easily been running on a series X (or PS5 if it ends up not being an Xbox exclusive)
i got a car down to a 1:35.9 but it was a really sloppy (though clean) lap that i couldn't replicate. the 3 or 4 cars i've tested a bit otherwise were in the 36's. most of my builds don't have aero/downforce and i'm pretty sure i need to rethink that, gonna test and post up a lap either tonight...
i didn't get the load cell brake.. i had the CS v3 pedals before and i gave them plenty of hours of use but i just couldn't get used to the load cell brake. i went back to my logitech pedals w/ leo bodnar adapter and immediately gained back some lap time, lol. i might try it again some day but...
can you give me a specific example (specific car, track, steps to reproduce)? because i still don't really see the problem you're describing, but maybe i just haven't hit the right scenario yet. i too have been sim racing since Papy's Indianapolis 500 game so i've got plenty of experience too.
