Surprised at the amount of negativity in this thread. I was pleasantly surprised with everything I saw in the trailer. Looks to be a lot of fun, as someone said, looks to be what star citizen originally set out to be but with more RPG elements.
Going custom loop and adding the 3090. Have blocks from Optimus, have had them for a long time actually, just nervous about doing it. It will be my first time with hard loop, but not my first watercooling experience.
So as someone who mainly games on a 5800x I'm kind of gathering that this isn't the greatest upgrade in the world due to the loss of clockspeed? I am currently air cooled but will be going with a custom loop soon. What do you all think? Worth it or just stick with what I got. Will probably not...
I don't think it discolors, I think it turns clear. I don't have any videos to link, but I remember seeing people "add" the satin finish back by using fine sand paper afterwards on the area that turned clear from the heat
Escape from Tarkov. Very steep learning curve but very satisfying and rewarding shooter that actually requires skill and intelligence to beat other players. The game is pretty to look at as well, I have my 3090 maxed, and it's fantastic. Sound and level design are great as well. And if you're a...
Just bought the game cause it was on sale, but like others, I'll be waiting for the additional DLC. I haven't played through even once, trying to hold off until they get the game closer to the original vision. Hopefully they add things back in to make the city feel more alive like public transit...
I used to have a qcode of AA while in windows. Shows 9E now after upgrading to 3801. No luck getting to 2000 IF still. What's everyone else's experience been on 3801?
I have an OCed 5800X and an OCed 3090 FTW3U that does fine on a TX1000. I would think the 850 would be good. Maybe it's faulty? Did you reach out to seasonic? Their customer service was pretty great. I had an issue with mine buzzing after the pc was shut down and they replaced it.
I have an ultitube, one port is the fill port with a plug and the other I am using as the inlet from the radiator. The inlet at the pump on the bottom i have a drain valve connected to. I could use the fill port and connect it with the universal kit, but it would look much better just connected...
PSA: Be careful when you update and try to restore a profile. I updated to 3601 and when I tried to load my profile from 3401 stable onto 3601 i noticed a bunch of really odd values and weird characters in the summary right before I was about to load the profile and reboot. Almost like the...
In the same boat as you brother. Got the FTW3U (updated PCB from evga through the 3090OC) email. Still can't hit 500W though, but not pulling over 80 on pcie anymore so I'm happy. Putting my Optimus block on this weekend. Nervous about it though. Was it a simple install? Going to try KP520 bios...
I am by no means an expert, but from my experience, pbo2 with negative offset per core on curve optimizer has given me the best results. I have a slight memory oc and my infinity fabric is at 1900mhz. Waiting for asus to drop the next stable bios to try to hit 2000mhz IF. As for drivers...
Throwing my name in the ring. This was standard air cooling. +125 Core, +1100 Memory. Looking forward to water cooling.

Something else nobody mentioned on the plus side for water-cooling. Keeping temperatures lower should increase the life span of the components. So if you're like me and don't plan on upgrading every year, there's the added benefit of longevity.
That's what I originally thought too, but because they are "better" cores, they can reach the same clocks on less voltage. That's what makes them better. Hence the "better" cores can get a larger negative offset. The "bad" cores need more voltage (less negative offset) to reach higher clocks. I...
So YMMV, but I thought the CO should be set the way you have it. However, some other users in another thread told me I had it backwards and that my good cores should get more negative offset with my "bad" cores less negative offset. I gave it a shot and my scores improved quite a bit. It also...
Maybe a long shot, but I had some really weird behavior recently due to fast startup being enabled. Try disabling that, shut down, power back up? Worth a shot
Yea to do it right you'll need to go through and find tune each core. When you get a reboot check for whea errors in event viewer to see which core it was and adjust accordingly.
Yea, pbo limits set to motherboard is going to generate the most heat. I would leave them set to auto or manually set them for longevity sake. The extra heat is probably not worth the score bump.
What has worked best for me is PBO advanced enabled with all core negative 15 on curve optimizer, +200 on boost, fmax enhancer disabled, power targets set to auto. I have a 5800x though, so YMMV.
Edit: the pbo under extreme tweaker is the old one, use PBO2.0 under AMD overclocking. Leave...
I honest think this was the culprit. I turned off fastboot in bios, I didnt know there was also a fast startup or whatever its called in windows. I thought they were the same thing.
So apparently my computer was just PMSing? Booted into Windows, updates still paused, ran firefox, navigated to youtube, ran crystal disk mark, hard drive at speed, some other web browsing. full virus scan with windows defender.. all worked as expected. I did turn off fast startup yesterday...
ok, going to try ubuntu today. Anything recommended to try out once I boot into Ubuntu? Does it come with a web browser that i can try out some websites and such? I am not sure what is causing the odd behavior in windows, so Im not sure how to duplicate it in Ubuntu. I guess if it is hardward...
Unfortunately I don't know the first thing about Linux. I'm thinking more and more that I have some failing hardware whether it's the cpu, MB, or nvme drive. Not sure how after a fresh install of windows I get consistent failure with Firefox. 100% when trying to go to YouTube, randomly upon...
No luck. Update won't install (which is a good thing I suppose) and I can't get Firefox working at all... Maybe I'll try reinstalling windows for a third time.
