Even though the prices are still crazy high, it is nice to see that the EVGA B-stock did not sell out of video cards.
https://www.evga.com/products/ProductList.aspx?type=8
I still see 1080 TIs and 2080 TIs that were listed there yesterday.
EVGA 1080 TIs are listed for 629$. Ebay is selling...
I can't image how much it hurts for the 2080 TI users, but I have to agree. They will just have to eat the cost if they are thinking about upgrading to the 30 series. However, if they can wait, the 2080 TI still has plenty of life in it. Perhaps they can wait till the next generation.
Ouch, insult to injury. Well, hope you get some enjoyment today out of it =).
It is encouraging to see that forum prices for video cards are going down though. 5700 XT was posted in the 300s. Good trend. Hopefully, the downward spiral will continue!
Looking back at the poster's original question: Something that I have also kept in mind is, how much do I actually game? In the past, it was more frequent, but now that I have a family, I game once a week or every other week, so my return of investment is lower then others. If I was gaming every...
This is what will likely happen this weekend.
1. I will be playing real life minecraft and doing house chores
2. Minecraft with my kids
If there is spare time, the below follows.
3. Elderscrolls with friends
4. Fallout 76 with friends.
When I was 6, the NES Lone Ranger sometimes would grind my gears. You would think a guy was behind a wall or something and some how you would die by getting hit by a bad guy shooting through a corner.
Great news is, prices are coming down. Feb 2021 you were spending about 700$ - 900$ on a 1080 TI. Now they are starting to hit the $400 on Ebay.
October 2020 I bought a 1080 TI for 315$. We are getting back to that level.
Thank you for pointing this out. I never really played the Splinter cell series. May have to get it a go.
**Adds to games to play when my kids go to college**
I was looking through the pages and didn't see it......Then I saw it was in the subforum. I appreciate the pointer.
I will take a dive in that thread, but appreciate everyone's input so far.
I have heard also that it is best to play RE 7. However, the continuity side of me would want to start at the beginning =). That is a big commitment when you have kids =).
Escape from Takarov is another game I have thought about getting into. However, similar to other comments, I have heard it was torture. Not sure if I want to suffer after a days worth of work =).
For those that have played RE8, would you recommend it for someone that has not gotten into it?
Also, would you recommend playing the earlier titles first?
I am probably behind the curve, but a friend and I just started playing Homeworld series last weekend. Good times. As an RTS player, still trying to get the hang of the 3D space combat =).
Some good memories from UT.
One of the LAN parties I attended was sponsored by DFI Motherboards (When they use to make gaming motherboards), AMD, Intel, ATI (before AMD bought them) and Nvidia (among other sponsors). If I remember right, there was one guy that cleaned up every UT tournament...
I am also a bit annoyed at the combo deals, but I think your argument may not be completely sound. Flashlights during a blackout is essential in many regards. High end video card is neither essential or necessary. I just checked and they do sell $3.99 flashlights. However, if those prices go up...
It is interesting how things have changed. From a sales perspective, this would be a stellar year for them.
Husband: "Honey, I won the new egg Shuffle!"
Wife:"Great! What did you win?"
Husband: "Sit down for this one.....I get the chance to buy a video card"
WIfe:".......Great......"
In indianapolis indiana, we had some pretty large Lan Parties. In high school , my personal lan parties started as 5-10 people. However, as it progressed, my parents actually moved all the furniture out of the house into the garage and we hosted (if memory serves me right) around 40 people. We...
It use to be for the low latency and network performance, now you can get that where ever you are as long as you have broad band. However, you can never replace gaming in the same room as other people and the fun that is had with that. =)
Its true. Long gone are the days where we all had to drag our full towers and CRT monitors across town to get a decent ping =).
Believe it or not, this is the first time I have heard of a FGC. I will have to look into that.
