Heard someone has lots of memory idling.

I had a T5810 MB die in the Pent. It was running an E5-2698V4 and 4 RTX 3070Ti's on it. Pulled the Xeon and put it into service in an x99 board and repurposed an old x58 w/ an i7 920 for the GPU's.

I'll add that if you are running an instance and max it out at ~1,000 WU's and it completes before you want to turn on networking you can start a second or third, etc., and run the same project adding another 1,000 units each. For those of you with fast gaming machines who want to contribute...

Super simple to set up multiple instances. You can load up one with GPU work and turn off the network to that one instance while loading up another with CPU work on another project and control the network activity separately on that instance...

The challenge right now is waiting for the announcement of the projects that will be chosen. Once we know the projects the experts here can better advise us novices based on our equipment.

The RTX 3050 or 3050 ti I want is a 70w low profile card. Need consumer version 6GB for $200-250 ish.

Newegg has an RTX 3070 Ti white for $750.

That's been available for a couple of days now. Same with their other 3090 ti's.

IN line for a while and was shown "Add to Cart" button but went OOS once clicked. Still, looks like stock is coming in and lasting a bit longer. Maybe ppl waiting to see what prices do after the "tariff's" end...or, hopefully, ppl are done with $800+ cards from NV.

BB is showing "stock" for FE 3070 and 3080Ti in my area. In line to see if one can actually be had.

This one will be GPU dominant. We last ran these on a PG Challenge at the end of 2020. GFN-18, 19 and 20. On the 19's my GTX1060 3G gets a task completed in ~2.5 hours. 3090 in under 30 min. So, anyone that has a GPU with some spare cycles can help a lot. Run a single gaming rig overnight...

Newegg Shuffle today. I love it when they have absolutely nothing I'm interested in. 3050's for $400 - $500. Those $329 EVGA's are looking good now.

If you are looking for higher end cards then It's a good source. If you are looking for 3060's unbundled for under $500 then good luck. I've managed 3-4 from them in the past 3-4 mos. Overpayed, but, not as much as other places and the bundles I selected I can use (PSU's and RAM). Was selected...
