Thanks Denpepe for the reply. I suspected as much but all the documentation I’ve seen from Intel suggests that the Z390 chipset is backwards compatible with all i7 LGA1151 processors. I guess the waiting begins for the i9 to come into stock!
Does anyone know if the Intel Core i7 6700k cpu is compatible with the Asus Hero XI z390 motherboard? Tried this combination earlier today but the motherboard would not boot into windows. The board would start the boot process, but was stuck in some weird loop where it would shut down and start...
There comes a point of diminishing returns. Is the extra expense of the AIO, time spent to set up, and the extra cost to operate in the form of power draw worth the cost of investment?
I'm hoping that Kyle will be doing a review of this motherboard when it arrives. I'd like to know if all of these specail features on the board will make a difference to us overclockers running on water, or air even. My first impressions are positive, even after filtering through some of the...
Just wanted to say how much I've been enjoying the [H]OCP videos on the front page done by Kyle. Cutting edge hardware captured on video, along with all the settings required to get things up and running quickly (literally) and stably always makes for compelling viewing. Keep up the great work...
Once again, I'm left to conclude that we need to see a few more reviews coming from some of the more well known websites, like the [H], using the latest available drivers from AMD. I can't wait till tomorrow!
Nicely done review Kyle. I have been looking around the web at various reviews of the QX9650 and have thus far enjoyed yours the most. I've been looking forward to the release of this cpu for some time now, and your review makes me that much more impatient to get one. November 12th can't come...
Now there really is no reason to buy the full install ($400.00 version) of Windows Vista! Kudos to those that experimented and came up with this workaround to "upgrading".
If you mean from different vendors, then yes you can. For Crossfire, you have to stay within the same family of cards for it to work, for example, you can Crossfire cards within the 1900 series as long as you have a slave and a master card. For nvidia, the same general rule applies, IIRC.

According to their information, we can still expect to see the G80 sometime in November.
