I bought a Corsair Hydro H100 exactly four years ago this month. It has worked great with zero issues on my 2600K. Should I continue to use it for my Skylake 6700K build or is it time to replace it? I also have a Noctua NH-D14 that I could use. I would like to hit 4.7 on my 6700K.
This 5.1 setup is for my office. The size of the room is 11'X12'. The speakers will be used for gaming, music, and movies in that order. I will be using HDMI from my HD7970.
I have a Yamaha RX-V567 Receiver...
The HD7970 XFX Black Edition cards suck in crossfire! The cooling solution is great for one card but they run way too hot with two causing crashes while gaming.
Setup:
ASUS Maximus IV Extreme-Z Motherboard
Two XFX Black Edition FX-797A-TDBC in crossfire in slots 1 and 3
Cooler Master...
I have asked this in a couple of other threads with no replies. If running HD 7970 in crossfire is better to have the reference design cards vs. the non reference design cards? I would much rather buy the non reference design cards but I'm concerned about their cooling methods once crossfired.
Many e-tailers are showing the i7-3960X Extreme on sale and ready to ship today. I just bought one from buy.com for $1063.99 with overnight shipping for $12.

Back in September several sources stated that this drive would be released on November 4th. I can't find any recent source confirming this date. Does anyone have information that this SSD will be released on the 4th...
I know Corsair and Kingston announced 32GB and 64GB quad channel kits for X79 but what about smaller kits like 16GB? With Sandy Bridge-E less than two weeks away, I assumed quad channel kits specific to X79/Sandy Bridge-E would start showing up or at least announced. Anyone?
This is ASRock's top end X79 board. Different than the Extreme7 shown earlier. It has everything including the kitchen sink.

It has been mentioned that turning off hyperthreading can greatly increase performance in BF3.
When I turn off hyperthreading in my bios, weird things happen. My computer boots real slow and then runs in very slow motion: mouse movement, sounds, graphics, everything. Completely unusable...
I built a small system in February 2010 with the DFI MI P55-T36, i5-750, HIS HD 5450, Corsair XMS 3 memory, and an Antec BP550 modular power supply. I chose the Lian Li PC-Q07 case. I knew this case had poor airflow; however, I didn't plan on overclocking, gaming, or anything else very...
I bought a Klipsch HD500 5.1 system that was bundled with a Yamaha RX-567 on sale for $599.99. I use it for my computer room for gaming and music. The problem is, I'm a little underwhelmed with the lack of fullness to the sound. It is very clear and has good base from the 8" sub but there is...

I just received my HIS HD 5970 and the fan rattles like a bitch. I've seen a couple of other people comment in other threads about this, so I wanted to start a thread to see if this is a wide spread problem. The card seems to run just fine, it's just noisy like an old cheap fan that rattles...
I am looking for a SATA controller card that works in Windows 7. It only needs two ports. I will use it to put my SATA DVD drive on to keep it off my motherboard raid controller. Something like this that works well with Windows 7...
It was just released for sale today:

I am seriously considering trading my Prelude for this sucker. Things I like are the built in headphone amp, the analog dongle that makes it easier to connect to a receiver, and of course the TOSLINK...
What the hell is it? Some speculate it is a new audio processing chip. Is this the X-fi replacement?

I turned on my computer this morning and I had streaked lines across my screen (the usual: your video card is about to die look). The computer failed to boot all the way into windows with a BSOD. After about three attempts to boot, I stopped getting any video all together. I pulled the card out...
My Klipsh Promedia 5.1 finally bit the dust, so I decided to replace them with home audio amp and speakers. I use a X-fi sound card. I want the set up for gaming, movies, and music. I paid $840 for this setup and should receive it next week.
Reciever/Amp...
