Considering you will be more GPU bound at 1440p/4k, it would not show how much more performance a CPU would be since all the CPU's would get right around the same framerate.
That's what a GPU bottleneck is.
Wow aftering seeing the HUB and Gamers Nexus reviews. The chip really is great for gaming. There are some impressive results in gaming. I was shocked how well it did vs a 12900k/ks with 6400mhz DDR5 memory.
looking forward to see the next gen CPU's :)
You know, I guess one thing that does kind of blow my mind.....It uses what half the power of the 12900K/12900KS to get the same performance in gaming while being 1ghz less in clock speeds.
Again this is for gaming purposes only. I have to admit I didn't expect this type of performance...
Not bad. So for $450 you get a CPU which is as fast as a 12900K and 12900KS in gaming overall.
I think anyone who owns a 5600x or above can pass on this. But if you own a 2000/3000 ryzen, this will be a decent upgrade path when it comes to gaming only.
We don't know that yet until we get more benchmarks. This is still a very limited selection of games. For all we know the v-cache will increase CS:GO FPS.
Either way, it looks to be a really good gaming processor.
Well for the record AMD has touted this CPU as being the fastest gaming processor. They knew this CPU would not be better in regular workloads compared to the 5800x.
So, if gaming is your thing (from the looks of it) there will be no faster processor for the AM4 chipset.
Exactly this. You do not test CPU gaming performance at 4k. All the results would be GPU limited which doesn't mean a damn thing. Now in 2k I can see some games showing the CPU performance. 1080p should be the sweet spot to use since no one is playing at 720p.
Now to really test CPU...
Who knows right now its all speculation. The only thing we know for sure is they are going with an MCM design that will be on either 4nm or 5nm. Nvidia is going with a monolithic design and FINALLY going back to TSMC.
Too many questions as right now. But being able to basically have 2...
I at least expect it with AMD. An MCM design will bring huge gains. Think of 2 6900xt chips on 1 die. That’s why I am thinking Nvidia has to bring something huge in performance to keep up. Next gen gpu’s are going to be super interesting
There are already leaks out about the new cards. The hacker group released it all, and numerous people have verified that information.
Lovelace is going to be 1 monster of a card with a massive jump in performance, as is AMD's GPU's as well.
I am sorry. In 6-8 months your card will be blown away by Lovelace. With AMD and Nvidia expecting a huge jump in performance between 80-120% faster cards then the current top......You should just wait it out.
Just my 0.02c
This is absolutely a stupid release. They have new cards coming this year. And this is release 18 months after the 3090? I mean if you waited 18 months to buy a 3090ti, you can wait another 6-8 months to buy a card that will be way cheaper and have more performance.
Very bad buy right now.
I just don't see the point to release it for a whole 10% more performance. Specially with lovelace coming in what 6-8 months?
Probably just want to go against the 6950x. But eh its very late to the party if you ask.
So I just was reading that Sony turned on Microtrasactions for GT7......And they want for some of the cars between $100-200?......WOW talk about a money sink. I was honestly thinking of buying this, but yeah I think will pass until that shit gets lowered or is gone period.
A few reason I think we didn't see anything other then a 5800x3D. They are saving the chiplets with 3D vram for the server market. AMD makes way more money in that market. And #2, it sounds like we are close to Zen4 release date? It sounds like its coming out on July possibly? With AM4...
I have been enjoying the Flame+fling mods myself. Just got the charm that basically gives you unlimited durability too!
Loving this game more then I thought I would. Not even sure how far am in the game. But, it really is good!
You can edit the controls by editing the data0.pak file. Which I have done for Block. BUT, it is still a pain in the ass. Hardcoded keybindings should not be present in a PC game at all. Blow's my mind that this was not thought of before releasing the game.
So, it looks like you can map mouse buttons properly. But, if you switch right click to anything. You are unable to switch Block to anything.
So far, Block and Binoculars assignments are still hardcoded.
