What irks me about the 770 is that it's a rebadged 680 rather than a cut-down 780. It doesn't matter when you look at the performance gap, but to the enthusiast in me, it just feels off. I want the best architecture.
Bought two of these.
Just beware. 3DVison is dead technology.
Nvidia doesn't support it for shit. It's quite the joke. For most games, it doesn't work. For a few, it works only if you can apply a mod made by this one guy on the internet, 'Helix'.
A couple years ago it was a somewhat different story, but Nvidia...
Laptop price is the same now as it was a week ago, so it's not an artificial deal.
Price looks perfectly reasonable to me at any rate. 1080P + 765m GPU + lightest 17" gaming laptop + SSD + HD
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834152477
Pretty sure "buy this good gaming laptop and get this gigantic TV for free" is a hot deal.
Beware because there's some kind of issue where the price once you order shows up as $259. Currently arguing with a customer rep over chat who seems to not understand that 309-80 does not equal 259...
You should have the option to play any game in a single-monitor resolution even with Surround enabled - no? Just choose the resolution of a single monitor and make sure your primary monitor is the one in the center.
As far as the stretched out desktop goes, maybe someone with more recent...
If you want to see exactly what happens, run your games and take in the experience. It's really that simple. 3D Mark and all that nonsense stopped being relevant five years ago for anything but benchmark comparisons.
They're not dumb enough to resort to MSAA on all the damn vegetation. Even in Crysis and Warhead I think there were specific AA options for vegetation in the INI file. They'll just use some kind of post-processing or alpha blending.
Advocates of unrestrained access to guns are waxing philosophical and posing puerile questions masquerading as deep ruminations on human nature. "Well you see, human beings can be very bad and very clever, so there is really no stopping violent-minded evil people. Therefore, let's do nothing!"...
Uh, yeah, that's the SLI bit I already suggested using. :) And yes, as I further noted, it works!
Also, there's no need to try to force AA - you just choose it in-game - so long as you are loading up the DX11 executable.
On another note, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that my third GTX...
Let's avoid petty arguments and stick to helpful information so we can all enjoy the game at its smoothest.
Here are the issues I've identified:
1. MSAA is broken using the regular executable and the latest betas. You need to load the DX11 exe to get MSAA. Presumably this also means that...
Because for they founded (or is it joined?) Silverstone and realized they could charge twice the price, apparently. The Silverstone case that accommodates a 4 x 120 has a somewhat similar aesthetic - Temjin TJ09 or some such. Lacks the classy door, though. Those just ended up falling out of...
Physx? Maybe, just run the game and see if performance is higher with SLI or with one card using Physx.
But...'dedicated' Physx? More like dedicated to doing jack shit 99% of the time, since less than 1% of games in existence that you'd ever want to play use hardware Physx.
I don't know man, looking at the last pic in your OP, I think you'd found perfection already. Will you be content with the display quality of a CRT array?
Honestly it doesn't bother me much but if it's a deal-breaker for you just get a 22" IPS and use it in portrait mode next to your 3D screen. 3D is far more impressive than an extra 120 pixels.
My vision is 20/20 with my corrective lenses, so that's not the issue. "Horrific" is simply hyperbole here. Battlefield 3 looks smudged, but everything else I've tried - Trine 2, Skyrim, others - look great with it.
The problem with MSAA, regardless of the merits of post-processing AA, is that...
We need to have a broader reevaluation of the benefits of traditional anti-aliasing. MSAA - the memory-intensive method - has slowly fallen to something approaching irrelevance over the past few years. Most games offer or rely on post-processing AA. We first saw AMD's MLAA, which could make text...
I noticed a tiny speck of something - less than the size of a pixel - today on my screen. I should say in my screen. Pretty sure it's some particle that's stuck behind the tempered glass. Not sure if it was there to begin with, but maybe tempered glass isn't the way to go if it isn't 100% sealed...
It can't be anything but an ATX board, going by both the picture and the description. Just read the expansion slots section. Mini-ITX can't accommodate more than two slots (one single and one double).
Price fixing? Wait, that doesn't happen because my economy books and Fox News tell me that unrestrained capitalism is better than God and needs to be left unregulated.
How hardcore are 99.9% of you that you even need or notice "super fast response" times? I played Tribes: Ascend and it felt no different from playing on the Asus TN monitor (set to 60hz mode for fair comparison). And between 60hz and 120hz mode, there's a noticeable difference in motion on the...
You guys are somewhat...obsessed, no? It's a little annoying in some games but I've found no reason to complain the vast majority of the time. I wonder whether some people's eyes or brains find it more annoying - akin to the 3D situation.
If it really bothers you line up three IPS in portrait...
Yeah, I don't know whether the properties of tempered glass make it more fragile than the usual material, but if so, the packaging is inadequate. While the internal packaging is adequate for an LCD (similar to normal OEM packaging that holds the unit in place so pressure isn't placed on the...
There's no noise. The PQ is just like the 27" Mac computer I have at work. However, extreme off angle viewing looks pretty bad, unlike the Mac. No idea why you'd be doing that in the first place, but there it is.
Damn, that was fast. Ordered Saturday, received today. Was from the guy who isn't dreamstar or whatever. Looks gorgeous. IPS, glossy, tempered glass, flush screen, high resolution, no noticeable bleeding or dead pixels - couldn't ask for more for $400. Brightness controls work but there is no...
But the IZ3D solution is pretty subpar, I think AMD users would agree about that, as they use the TriDef solution whenever possible.
The key with 3D in games is being able to manually adjust depth and convergence, and without that feature, it's pretty useless.
What baffles me is how the hell...
I owned one of the best IPS out there, the HP ZR30w, and every day I use the other best IPS, the Apple 27". Sweet for the real estate and required for color matching work, but there's honestly no IQ advantage over the newer good TN monitors unless you're viewing really off angle.
The Samsungs...
Once you go 120hz you never go back. IPS is nice but unless you need it for color matching-related work, it's got nothing on a 120hz monitor for gaming and overall smoothness of motion.
I like cookies. You probably do too, or someone you know does. Do you know how many rapists and murderers like cookies too? So is liking cookies a codeword for being a murderer or rapist?
Pull your head out of your ass and try to think for yourself instead of having Fox News do your thinking...
$450 for the second top dog makes no sense at all. When you're paying out the ass, while not go all the way? When I get the runner up card, I expect to pay no more than $350, and don't recall ever having done so, actually.
I also don't think 3DVision is even officially supported; someone had found a way to get the monitor to recognize it on Nvidia forums but the info was taken down by Nvidia.
And since it's promoted on AMD's 3D page, I'm guessing it's because it's a collaboration between AMD and Samsung.
