Even though this game is getting old I am building a custom modded Skyrim case that will have laser cut outs of quotes in Dovahzul (dragon-voice) backed with RBG lighting. I'm just getting an idea what sayings other people would like on a mod like this?
Everyone knows the quote "I used to be...
I agree the ASUS one is probably your safest choice here. The ASUS pro gaming (ATX version) is one of the most popular boards according to futuremark Motherboard Reviews. I like going with ITX builds but it was because of the lack of choices right now that casued to stray away from it and go...
Those are really your only options. I think the ASRock Fatal1ty Gaming Z170 Gaming-ITX/ac is the best value for money. Lots of usb 3.0/3.1 usb ports, display port, m.2 socket, load of options in the bios. As a bonus: leds which show you which component fail to start. Like you said though the...
I did compare other fans but they didn't make it to my list as I was only adding fans under 30 dB/A that I thought to be of good performance. I could easily make an excel spreadsheet but not sure when I'll get the time to make it. Of course if you have any suggestion please share!
I've since decided to go with the ASRock Fatal1ty Z170 Professional Gaming i7 and made a new memory list.

I compiled a list of silent case fans to help with my new pc build and thought I would share. This information was taken directly from the manufacture's website so for a real world comparison please check out video reviews online.
I just want to make a decent gaming machine and I'm one of those who like to get the most out of their money by overclocking.
So I'm looking to purchase this motherboard GIGABYTE G1 Gaming GA-Z170X-Gaming 5 (rev. 1.0) LGA 1151 Intel Z170 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard -...
I have a bunch of questions here and will probably be all over the place as I'm researching...
I'm trying to figure out the sweet spot for memory speed for a Skylake build with the i7-6700k. I didn't think the i7-6700k would benefit at all from a higher memory speed than rated (2133Mhz) but it...
I found some dual channel memory I want 32GB (2x16GB) for $120 and planned to buy another kit later for 64GB.
G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2400 (PC4 19200) Intel Z170 Platform / Intel X99 Platform Desktop Memory Model F4-2400C15D-32GVR - Newegg.com 32GB...
Going to be selling mine. What's a good price? They are rare and I've seen them go for $200 or more. There is one on Ebay with a $117 buyout right now which is the cheapest I've seen so far.
MAXIMUS EXTREME - Overview
I have another question. "1 x Ultra M.2 Socket, supports type 2242/2260/2280 M.2 SATA3 6.0Gb/s module and M.2 PCI Express module up to Gen3 x4 (32Gb/s) **"
Does the M.2 PCI Express module plug into a PCI Express slot or the M.2 socket?
Well, with faster drives coming out reaching the 32 Gb/s cap there doesn't really seem be a reason to setup a M.2 raid. Maybe 2 drives but 3 would be a waste if you can easily reach max speeds with 1 or 2 drives. That said I'm thinking about just sticking with a single Ultra M.2 slot.
Doesn't look like you can buy it yet. Extimated price is $521 though. Not bad at all.
I think I will just wait until Samsungs 961 line of ssds come out then.
Samsung Shows Off SM961 and PM961 SSDs: OEM Drives Get a Boost
Gotcha, I have 4 SSD's and already get around 1500-1700Mb/s I mainly use RAID 0 for the operating system/games and a backup drive + NAS for storage. I'd like to have room to upgrade over time and money isn't that big of an issue, so with that in mind I was trying to decide on one of these...
Thinking about getting the Fatal1ty Z170 Professional Gaming i7 with 3 x Ultra M.2 Sockets, support type 2230/2242/2260/2280/22110 M.2 SATA3 6.0 Gb/s module and M.2 PCI Express module up to Gen3 x4 (32 Gb/s)**
If I were to say use 3x SAMSUNG 950 PRO M.2 512GB in RAID 0 would I be able to use...
Oh shit! That looks like ghost ectoplasm. Your PSU is haunted. Get an EVGA branded psu as they have a anti-ghost prevention module with ultra high quality ectosplasm resistant capacitors with a 10 year warranty.
Because I have a terrible memory and don't even remember starting a thread about this already. Actually I was able to tweak around with it using SetFSB.
I have a Dell OptiPlex 780 SFF and I would like to overclock my Intel Core 2 Q9650 @ 3GHz stock.
Unfortunately there are no bios options for this and I can't find the PLL to use SetFSB. So if any of the advanced overclockers out there might now of a way I'd welcome any advice.

Would a 750W psu be good enough to power two GTX 1070 in SLI + i7-6700K or would that be pushing it? What's recommended? Thanks.

Looking to spend around $150 for a decent Z1070 motherboard for a i7-6700k + GTX 1070 SLI and have enjoyed ASUS and ASRock so far but I am thinking about going with one of these Gigabyte boards this time around. Not much of a price difference but I'm leaning more towards the G1 gaming...
Most computers should still boot even without a cmos battery. You usually just get an error and your bios settings won't be stored. You can test the cmos battery with a multi-tester or just replace it anyway. I would first unplug everything and reseat all the cables and components. Maybe try a...

Do you have a different cpu to see if that fixes the issue? I would try that first and if it doesn't work you can narrow the issue down to the motherboard. If the motherboard is the issue it could be that maybe a circuit somewhere isn't making proper contact. In that case you could RMA the...
This motherboard was used for less then a month and replaced with a ASRock FM2A88X-ITX+. Worked great when and still works like new! Comes with I/O Shield, driver disk, and motherboard manual. $35 Buy it now plus shipping.

Anyone know if there is a way to overclock on one of these? Dell Optiplex 780 SFF (Small Form Factor) updated the bios and there isn't anything as far as CPU settings go :/ Have an ASUS Maximus Extreme on it's way though (=

So I picked up a pretty much brand new Asus Eee Box B206 at a yard sale for $7 which was an awesome deal. Booted it up and no operating system found, whatever. I have an Easy2Boot USB drive with tons of operating systems on it and decided to boot into Linux Mint 17.3 and checked the S.M.A.R.T...
So I have a little bit of Christmas Ca$h and wanting to build a cheap gaming PC as my current PC is ancient. I had a few questions below.

I looked and it didn't show up there. Erased the drive using hirens and was able to install windows 8 again. Drive doesn't show up anymore. I'm guessing it was probably a partition issue.
Nope. This is on a fresh Windows install. Booted up today and started going through a recovery loop. Disk is healthy and smart status is good. Trying to reinstall and getting error 0xe0000100 after the is selection menu.
Windows 8 is showing a hard disk drive that does not physically exist on my system. I cannot figure out how to get rid of it. I have used Hirens boot cd, fdisk, disk part, gparted, EaseUs ect, and there are no hidden partitions or unpartitioned/formatted space.
