    Acer XF270HU 144Hz IPS Freesync

But no AMD cards have HDMI 2.0 and I thought Freesync needed DP anyway. That doesn't seem to make much sense.

Should i go TN for gaming?

So you're saying people should watch movies illegally. Basically steal the hard work of others? Great suggestion.

When will we see a new round of 32" monitors released?

There are several 32" 1440p VA displays. Do you mean one with GSync?

The new GLOSSY AH-IPS Dell S2415H

Or just use a different gamma mode. Because according to good reviews of the 24" one there is nothing wrong with gamma in the right mode. I would assume this would be the same? Dunno. :)

    Philips BDM4065UC - 40" 4K 60Hz monitor thread

How can adjusting contrast in the Nvidia Control Panel affect the monitors backlight? Only the brightness control on the monitor affects that.

    Dell S2716DG, 27" 2560x1440 144hz 1ms "G-Sync Gen II", DP+HDMI

3H is hardness and AFAIK all matte coatings are that. It does not tell you how grainy or thick a coating is. This will surely be similar to the PG278Q if it uses the same panel.

    Dell S2716DG, 27" 2560x1440 144hz 1ms "G-Sync Gen II", DP+HDMI

It isn't only LG who do that sort of panel design though. I've seen VA panels with that as well.

    Dell p2416d pivoting 24" 1440p

I've got one of these at work. Just use it for boring stuff like browsing the internet, Office etc. but it works nicely and is cracking value for money. The pixel density is really nice in my opinion.

    Dell S2716DG, 27" 2560x1440 144hz 1ms "G-Sync Gen II", DP+HDMI

They're usually really good if you're not happy with monitors anyway, regardless of the level of warranty included.

    Dell S2716DG, 27" 2560x1440 144hz 1ms "G-Sync Gen II", DP+HDMI

+1. Plus I prefer Dell to ASUS. Not that I am interested in either monitor personally.

Except that it is significantly cheaper and more widely available. Plus is very well reviewed.

    ASUS PG279Q 144hz 1440P IPS G-Sync

Except that a 48" UHD screen has a worse pixel density than a 27" WQHD.

    BenQ XR3501: 35" 21:9 2560x1080 144Hz CURVED (Q2 2015)

Well I can't see any IPS models out there with 1664:1 contrast and I'd much rather than glow-free 1664:1 than any IPS. The screen surface is probably fine, as above. And responsiveness seems fine by me, much better than having loads of overshoot. Will really have to wait for a TFT or PCM review...

    BenQ XR3501: 35" 21:9 2560x1080 144Hz CURVED (Q2 2015)

Yeah I'm really looking forward to TFT and PCM reviewing it. I own a BDM4065UC for the office and considered bringing it home for some gaming. But I am really liking the sound of this BenQ to be honest. The PRAD review didn't actually put me off, I think it sounds good in areas that are...

Best Reviewed A-MVA Monitor Thread: Read the 1st Post

To be honest I think random number generators are used. But seriously, I wouldn't look too much into scores. They're probably only there to appease lazy people. I mean how would you score something that's so subjective? For PCM scores it seems they like anything that they give above...

    Acer Predator XB271HU - 27" 1440p 144Hz G-Sync IPS ULMB 144hz

$800 wasted if it's anything like the last attempt. And why shouldn't it be? But don't mind me, I've just read enough to put me off that embarrassment of a brand.

    Dell S2716DG, 27" 2560x1440 144hz 1ms "G-Sync Gen II", DP+HDMI

Ran numbers from the middle of the screen with a little device. Wake up, you don't stick your eyeballs onto the screen in the middle. I hate IPS glow myself so avoid IPS generally, but TN colour shift is a big issue that only blind people underplay.

And pcmonitors. I actually preferred their review as it gave me a better idea of what to expect from the monitor. And it gave me the final push to buy the damn thing. Unfortunately for my office at work not my fun at home. But I might get another. ;)

    Dell U2715H vs Asus MX27AQ

Personal preferences really. I prefer 160-180 cd/m2 for a bright room and don't feel this is too bright at all. I find 140 cd/m2 decent enough though.

Any new TNs trying to compete with ROG Swift PG278Q response times?

You should also be thinking about the maximum response times. 6.9ms recorded for the Acer and 4.4ms for the ASUS. From my understanding response times only need to be so fast on sample and hold monitors. And for a 144Hz one I think IIRC it's like anything below 3.5ms doesn't matter but higher...

The new BenQ BL2420Z & GW2470H VA Panels

I like the look of the BL2420Z. Been wanting something like that to replace my crappy EW2430 in the office. Guess we'll have to wait for the reviews to see if they've sorted the responsiveness and see what else is good/bad about them. Nice to see some new panels though.

    CCFL or LED 2015

I'm with NCX on this. For me it is one of the most important factors when deciding a monitor. I can't abide grainy screen surfaces and for those that can: "good for you". Not everyone is lucky enough to let such an obtrusive thing escape their notice.

    [CES2015] ASUS MG279Q 2560 x 1440 Gamer 120Hz IPS 5ms GTG

The minimum refresh rate of this is 35Hz and I recall reading by an ASUS rep somewhere that lowering from 40Hz to 35Hz was actually the reason for the 90Hz cap. Could be rubbish though.

37" Westy bit the bullet and wont turn on. Repair / Replacement Ideas?

I think the phrase you were looking for is "bit the dust". Biting the bullet is something quite different. :) Anyway I'd see this as a good excuse to upgrade, reckon you'll forget all about that old screen soon enough.
