Windows 7 will be supported until 2020... Unless you want new hardware, then suck it. I have people in their 70's and 80's that want Windows 7, so now I'll have to find previous generation hardware. Remove KB4015549 and KB4015546 to get around it until MS pushes another patch to get in the way.

P.S. Boot up on a stick or disc, system restore, Windows Update and deselect half the updates and try again. If you figure out which update is causing problems let us know.

Got a 3220, posted right away. Updated the bios, but then figured just keep the 3220 in there. The IPMI works fine, except console redirection. I have a Supermicro that the java console just works, was hoping this would be the same but alas, not so. Google time!

The answer is "kinda". It would have to be a secondary drive, taken offline in the host server, brought online in the VM, then share it via networking for the host to access the drive.

I have an i3 4160 that isn't on Asrock's list. I have a 4790 that is on the list, but it doesn't support EEC AFAIK. Peanut is sending me a little chip that is on the list and supports ECC, hopefully that will allow me to get it up and running, maybe update the bios and try the 4160 again.

Does anyone know if you can install Backblaze in a VM on Server 2012 and backup data on the physical drives?

It's on the workbench, keyboard, mouse and monitor. The G1820 is ECC compatible and on Asrock's list, I'd appreciate borrowing it. If it works maybe I can update the BIOS and get one of the other cpu's working.

Got this board, purchased the Kingston 8GB ECC on Asrock's QVL, tried a couple of different CPU's (including one on the supported list) but just can't get this bugger to post. Also tried non-ECC memory. I can access the IPMI, isn't telling me anything about why it isn't posting. Any thoughts?

A "Killer App" is something that people must have because it's that much better, cooler, easier, whatever term suits the individual. How cool something is to you doesn't change the opinion of the user that loves the older version and doesn't like change. Old dog, new tricks and all that.
