out of curiosity, what cards do you run in this configuration? i thought you had to run multiple cards in a CF/SLI setup and they had to be the same generation, but you make it sound like the older card is totally different from your gaming card. i have an i7-5820K. no onboard graphics :(

With DD-WRT, you can have a Wireless Bridge. I think you need two routers with DD-WRT though.

I would avoid TrendNet. I have 4 Panasonic HD-PLC units myself and I love them. I do use one for 360 gaming as you said. They are more expensive than the ones you linked though. marley1's suggestion is also a good choice. It'll probably cost you around $25: you can find WRT54G routers used...

TVersity has a slew of codecs AFAIK. I just recently tried playing a 1080p .mkv of Taken on the Xbox from my computer upstairs and it handled it fine. It did have to buffer though which is expected. I think the main benefit of Tversity that they tout is that it has all the codecs you need to...

I know a Xbox 360 will do it quite well with TVersity, but I don't know too much about HTPCs so you might want to wait for someone else's opinion.

what temperature and for how long? i do use the standard technique for fixing the RRoD (letting it overheat - two ring - for 2 minutes and letting it cool), but i hadn't known this would work for the no video error as well. i could use more business. ;)
