U28H750 is it the same old 28" TN?

Samsung is probably providing QD-enahnced LEDs to Innolux for assembly into panels destined for Samsung only. Tempted to buy one just to get the panel for my electronics.

For people who want full 39" kits, the panels aren't easily found anymore. The best price I've gotten for a box of 7 (they come in packs of 7 from the factory) is around 300/panel after shipping. I've got a 42" panel at my new place (moving back to the US in October) and I'll add support for...

If I don't get a panel to test (not planning on it), there won't be a voltage+timing profile for the panel. Without this, image quality will be really bad. Backlight drivers are a secondary concern.

Same 40" panel as a few posts above, same answer. Not supported, please don't order it. My brother has the same display and it is the laggiest thing I've ever seen haha. Tell you what, if more than 10 people are interested in that 40" panel, I'll buy one and add support for it.

You can use the 28" kit on the 39", or in your case, to test on the 40". Just need to flip the dipswitch and the mounting plate will be wrong. We'll do this together when the time comes. The 40" panel might behave differently which would require re-tuning it in which case you'd need a jtag...

It is a matter of drawing lines in the sand. When a company buys a panel, it comes with a TCON that has a standard interface and limitations of its own. Everyone accepts these limitations, as engineers usually do, abide by the specifications. I recognized that the limit was in the TCON and...

there are other differences in the kits. 28" uses a power adapter, while the 39" kit uses the seiki power supply. 28" mounting plate is much more complicated to make and larger to ship. 39" does not require a backlight cable because it is a flatflex type built directly into the panel. Need...

    10bpc/30bpp color on win10 + radeon

Hi, I've been doing some testing with 10bpc color. Using an rx580 with latest drivers under win10, the monitor is operating in 10bpc mode, but the system is not. I can view a 10bit gradient (it bands the same as 8bpc) and look at the raw pixel values in the output device. 1023, 1019, 1015...

    4k 60hz 25' run

You could also move the computer closer to the display and use longer usb/network/whatever cables.
  33. C

    4k 60hz 25' run

It isnt a matter of hdmi cables being better, because they aren't, they are built basically the same. The point is that DP is less tolerant of failures because it tries to be too smart. If you need DP at that length, your only options are redrivers or active cables.
  34. C

    4k 60hz 25' run

Try using HDMI instead of DP for long runs.

HDMI to VGA better then VGA

Image quality with VGA is dependent on signal quality. Different devices having different levels of signal quality with vga is no surprise.

So what's happening with quantum dot?

You can think of quantum dots as used in backlights as a way of tuning the color spectrum of the backlight in a more accurate and stable way than with the phosphors that are currently used. The LCD part of the system remains the same. Emissive QD will be a replacement for OLED and is being...

Korean monitor and iGPU, is it possible with adapters?

No. Overrides are bullshit. Flash it to the display and don't deal with the recurring hassle that is inherent with an override patch.
  38. C

Korean monitor and iGPU, is it possible with adapters?

You can get this combination to work by adding the hdmi extension block in the edid. The default edid does not provide such a block, so the computer assumes that the display should use the 165MHz pixelclock crossover point. Because only one res is supported, and the port can't do it, the...

I don't know. Is kickstarter the right thing for a product that is already designed? I'd like to do something like a group buy, but don't know what is best. Open to input. I can front the money for production, that isn't the issue. I just don't know how many to expect to sell.
