Question for you all:
I am going to be removing my optical drive and putting in a SSD as a replacement. I simply need a bracket to go in place of the optical drive, and I'm finding I can spend $100 on a "name brand" bracket, or buy a $10 one off of eBay? For something like a bracket, does...
Filed a claim with USPS. Computer was shipped in original packaging, in which the computer is surrounded by foam blocks, and then the original cardboard box was put into yet another cardboard box. The fact that the CPU fan had fallen off when the computer arrived rings some red bells......
Ok apparently just everything is breaking now. He said he moved the video card to another PCI-e slot and that fixed it, but he said now files on the hard drive have been corrupted, and it still powers off randomly. How do I deal with this? He said he wants to ship it back, who would be...
Yep, turns out it was that the CPU fan fell off. He put it back on, and he said it worked fine! However he said a few hours later that a bunch of white lines came on the screen, and then it shut off again. He said he took the video card out and then it worked fine...so apparently now the video...
I just sold my gaming computer, and the person emailed me and told me that he turned it on, and 15 minutes later it shut off. When he tries turning it back on, it keeps turning off. When I shipped the computer, it was completely fine. My guess was maybe the CPU fan fell over so it's overheating...
I love the Dell IPS monitors. If I had the money I'd buy a second 24" one. I just can't justify another $500 though. :)
I do a LOT of photography work and graphic design, so of course an IPS monitor made sense. The color clarity and perception is fantastic. The blacks are rich, and has 100%...
So, my computer is built. :) I'm lovin it so far. I went over my budget but oh well.
Core i5 2500k
8GB DDR3 Ram
GTX 460 Superclocked
1TB Samsung 7200RPM
Corsair 600W PSU
Windows 7 64bit
Dell U2410 IPS
Thanks for all of the help guys. :)
Very informative post. Thank you. :)
Yea, I've been hearing the 2500k i5 is a great cpu...I'll probably go with this...Geez my $700 budget is now around $1000 haha. I hate the money involved with technology...
Hopefully it serves me well. :) I've only ever bought EVGA cards due to their...
I didn't know that Asrock was a subsidiary of Asus...That makes me feel better....
Do you know how you get that extra year warranty on the Asrock motherboard? Because if I can get a 2 year warranty on that one I'm getting that one for sure.
So, I'm building a computer. I have most parts already, however I still need to buy a motherboard. I have an i5 Sandy Bridge CPU, GTX 460 1024MB overclocked, and 8GB of DDR3 1600 ram.
These are the two mobos I'm looking at, what do you guys think is the better one...
Well, I bought a video card online. It was $150, plus $4 shipping. And I live in dumb Chicago so I payed $20 for tax. (Most states weren't charged for tax) So it was $184, but then theres a $30 rebate, and free Photoshop Elements.
Ok. So, i5, and a GTX 460. Now, does anyone know any motherboards that support Firewire 800? Also, how big of a power supply would I probably need? (i5, 8GB DDR3 G.Skill ram, 1TB hdd, Blu-ray player, card reader, GTX 460)
Thank you very much for the replies everyone. I now know a little bit more in what to look for. :)
Another question....Are there any 1155 socket motherboards that support Firewire 800? I haven't really been able to find any, and my external hard drives are Firewire 800. Thanks.
Thanks for the replies.
So, it looks like I should get a 68-- video card. I'll start scouting for deals....(BTW my resolution is 1920x1200, I think someone asked that)
Now back to rest of the computer...
I'm still thinking about the i5 thing. I do realize it's faster, but I just wonder if its...
Hello, so I decided to build a new computer, for gaming and photo editing. My budget is low, ($700), so I can't blow too much money on a video card unless I get good deals.
Right now the specs that I'm looking at:
AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition 3.2GHZ
Mobo unknown (What would be good?)...
I have a Macbook Pro that I use to connect to my Dell U2410 via a Mini-Display Port-DVI cable. I've been using it flawlessly for about a month now. However today suddenly when I was using it for a split second I got that grainy "signal lost" type screen and then the screen went blank. So the...
You are incorrect. The notion that Mac users can't right click is a commonly believed myth. Mac users can right click, and they do. I myself am a Mac user, for instance. The only difference is that Mac users have to do it differently.
And also, with the way I have it setup, it should say...
I started a new website, and I need some feedback. What do you guys think of it? Its basically a photography site designed to help people, there are guides, quick tips, and forums. There also is a wallpaper section.
Let me know what you think.
I have a great pair of speakers attached to my Macbook Pro. The problem is I'm trying to go wireless so that I can move my Macbook Pro around my desk or room without having to worry about wires. This will just make my work flow better. I am wondering if there is some kind of way to make my...
Ok thanks 450.....Sandman, For me it looks like the older MacBook Pro makes more sense because I mostly care about graphics performance, weight doesn't really bother me much. Also there insn't really a noticeable difference in DDR2/DDR3...Just my thoughts.
Which would be better? (gaming performance)
The 2.4GHZ Macbook with 9400m w/ 512mb
The 2.4GHZ Macbook Pro with 8600m w/ 256mb?
Also how do you think these would handle Oblivion at 1680x1050?
