I can guarantee you that Mashie did do that mod. However, Mashie is certainly not putting his best mod forward. :D Thanks for the props, and yes, it is big.

So your wife lost her job and you broke up with your girlfriend. But now you have worked things out with your girlfriend and will continue to live with her... How does your wife feel about that? ;)

    2005 Post Your Workstation

Just a little update on my office now that Rat Fink is up and running. I know I still owe everyone a write-up on it, but the holidays have been pretty hectic.

    Project Rat Fink

Can't have a plan without knowing what parts you are going to be using. Of course it would also have a tuned pipe and velocity stack, but the engine is a 27cc 3.5HP scooter engine. Corrugated

    Project Rat Fink

Just as an FYI, I have already worked up the plans to power it, and if I do at some point in the future, it will be gas powered. For now though, un-powered it shall stay.

    Project Rat Fink

I like the green and flame idea. :) Ok, before I show you the next pics, I wanted to warn all the gear heads that yes, I am using a fairly nice Autometer tachometer on my computer. It is amazing how much flaming I got for doing that on Heavy Metal. I was a little undecided about the...

    Project Rat Fink

Thanks everyone :) Hey Crimson, long time! I have completed some basics like mounting the case, the wing, exhaust, Rat Fink, and removing and cleaning up the grill in the back. Still have a tone of work ahead, but I think it is coming together nicely. I have a pair of lighted aluminum...

    Project Rat Fink

Here is couple of pics of some of the parts being used: Rat Fink Rear exhaust (I'll take a better pic once the fan is in place and its polished): Tachometer controller. I was hoping that the tach and aluminum fan would arrive today, but it looks like next week for those...

    Project Rat Fink

It has come time to embark on another mod that was started many months ago, but will begin coming together soon. The project began as I was winding down on project Heavy Metal. After I converted Heavy Metal to R\C, I had a left over chassis that I really didn't want to pitch. After pondering...

    Post Pics of your chair

Earlier this year I was asked to do a demonstration at the local high school for their engineering and comp sci classes. I spent a good part of the day tearing heavy metal around the school and terrifying students and teachers. It was a blast. The kids seem to get a big kick out of it also.

The Official DOOM 3 [H]ardware Guide thread.

I am running 1920 x 1200 with the custom settings and it works great. As far as the custom resolutions showing up in the list... mine don't. Running high detail with 2x AA and my imagecache set to 256 and the game plays super smooth.

    Doom 3: timedemo demo1

    1920 X 1200 on a Sony SDM-P232W/B 23" LCD using a XFX 6800 Ultra: High Quality at 2X AA: 1st pass 39.3 2nd pass 44.1 Looks incredible and plays great. Specs here. p.s. seta r_customHeight "1200" seta r_customWidth "1920" seta r_mode "-1"

    DOOM 3 Tweak

Haven't hear of that one yet. The big one I have been hearing about is: seta image_cacheMegs "32" Setting it to a higher amount of memory provides a large boost. Depending on how much memory you have, I have heard of people taking all the way up to 512 and still realizing increases.

Planning a case, Fragmaster - The Case on Treads!

Keep in mind those pictures are over 6 months old. All the hardware, including the stuff you don't see, is now packed away. I had actually forgotten about it until this thread started, but am still way too busy to take on a new project right now. Back on topic: I bet if you give the...

Planning a case, Fragmaster - The Case on Treads!

You know Blananar, you are a bad influence. All this talk about RC computers has me thinking about a project I shelved about 6 months ago... So, just for the record, I HATE YOU Blananar!!! :D

I can certainly help with the mechanical, elecrical, modeling, etc..., once you determine the general concept. Do you know yet if you are sticking with tracks?

Planning a case, Fragmaster - The Case on Treads!

I would have to agree with that if you have no or little experience with RC, moving into this class of RC building can be intimidating. Not to mention the potential extra costs if something breaks *cough*speed controllers*cough*.

Planning a case, Fragmaster - The Case on Treads!

A couple of comments regarding ramps and the project. I have found through personal experience that brakes are essential. Most speed controllers sold through the robot marketplace have the ability to electronically brake. I added switches so I had the option of turning them on and off...

Planning a case, Fragmaster - The Case on Treads!

If you have any questions regarding the bot part, feel free to ask. The robot marketplace is an excellent source for parts. The individual companies are also very willing to assist you with any questions you have. p.s. trailers don't work well with skid type steering.
