Got the new motherboard. By some reason the Q-Fan settings in the BIOS no longer apply after I boot into Windows.
The CPU Fan keeps doing the very annoying 3 sec @ 1400 RPM, 3 sec @ 1600 RPM step up and down non-stop.
Speedfan does not work. If there any way to fix this stupidity without...
Currently using XFX 290 Black edition and 1080p monitor. Planning to upgrade to 1440p in near future (this year?).
It does not look like there will be any significant performance improvement in switching to 570 or 580 card, right?
After installing the new Crimson drivers I've been getting this popup every week.
What does it even mean? How can I disable it?
The current power plan is 'high performance' and I do have an UPS connected to my computer.
So last night I've upgraded my retail Win 7 (upgrade) to WIndows 10.
1) Got a new SSD.
2) Did a clean install of Win 7 Retail (Upgrade Edition), edited registry and activated Windows.
3) Downloaded ESD from here...
So from time to time I get a popup like this:
What the hell does it mean?
What happens if I click Cancel?
What happens if I uncheck both boxes and click 'Allow Access'?
What happens if I check one of the boxes?
Reposting from the audio forum:
I've got some weird problem after upgrading my video card I've been trying to resolve for weeks.
M/B P6T Deluxe V2
PCIEX4_1: Anker USB3.0 card
PCIEX16_1: Radeon 6950 2GB
PCI1 & PCI2: nothing

I'm a bit puzzled.
I just had one old monitor replaced with Benq XL2420Z @ 1920x1080x144Hz, the second monitor is Benq GW2400 1920x1200@60Hz. Both are connected to XFX 290 by dual link DVI cables. Power settings in windows did not change, monitors turn off after 15 minutes of inactivity, but...
I've been running my i7-920 D0 with mild OC at 3.2GHz for the last 4+ years with Noctua NH-U12P cooler at decent temperatures. Few weeks ago I tried to up the clock and run it at 3.8GHz (19 x 200MHz @ 1.25vcore) and the temperatures seem to be a bit high:
78C with Prime95 and HT on
I'm thinking about replacing my video card with either R9 280x or 290.
M/B: Asus P6T Deluxe v2 (x58)
CPU: Intel i7-920 3.2GHz
Video: XFX 6950 with unlocked shaders.
The system is used for gaming (BF4 and other stuff) at 1920x1200 resolution.
Is it a good idea to...
I wonder, what's the best option to go?
Current hardware configuration:
ASUS P6T Deluxe V2, Intel i920, 6GB DDR3, Sapphire 4870 1GB, 750W PSU plus is a bunch of hard drives, all in Antec P180 case. Windows 7 x64. Playing games in 1920x1200. WoW, BFBC2, Civ5 and the likes. Currently no plans...
I was looking to buy a new PSU, found Seasonic X-750 on Newegg.com, placed it into the card to see how much it is going to cost with delivery/taxes, ended up ~$180. That seemed a bit too much comparing to other places so I left the item hanging in the cart.
Next day they send me a email "Dude...
I've installed the new drivers, but I don't see any improvement for loading times in DX10 mode nor fixed blinking textures in DX9 mode. Using Windows 7 x64 and Sapphire 4870 1GB card and Application Profiles Apr07.
Am I missing something?
Recently I've got 2 instances of a crash happening on attempted hibernate. In both cases I used Skype and USB headphones/mic some time before I hibernated the machine.
I wonder, has anyone seen a similar crash?
Here's crash dump analysis...
I've been using a WD Black 640GB drive for about 4 month and suddenly it started to take very long time to auto-detect by BIOS. Used to take no more than 10 seconds after power up, now it takes almost a minute. The drive detects fine if I simply reboot my computer.
There are no errors in...
Recently I've noticed some extra long HDD detection times on BIOS boot screen.
The BIOS shows 'Detecting SATA1 drive' and waits about 15-20 seconds before it zips to the OS loader.
I wonder what's going on? It is a bad cable, bad drive, bad PSU or bad SATA channel?
I use AHCI mode for SATA...
I've been using Windows7 RC1 since June 5th and RTM since mid-August and had no issues whatsoever up until Oct 5th when Win7 suddenly started to blue-screen on resume from sleep. I used Sleep mode instead of shut down all these months and it worked fine.
Blue screens happen right...
I was looking to upgrade my old 8800GTX with 4870 1GB card because I'm sick and tired of nvidia driver crashing under vista whenever I try to run two instances of WoW and watch a video on a second screen. Besides, games are kinda slow if I run them in 1900x1200 mode.
My current config:
I wonder, maybe someone knows what to do.
I'm using Yamaha HTR-6030 receiver and it is connected to Prelude using optical cable.
In Vista the Prelude's SPDIF Output is configured as default, the output format is set to DTS/48k. The console is in Gaming mode.
