Intel Rocket Lake-S Platform Detailed, Features PCIe 4.0 and Xe Graphics

2.5GBASE-T and 5GBASE-T They're basically the same technology applied to 100mbs and 1gbs connections respectively. If it's got 2.5 why wouldn't it be 5?

    3.2TB SSD for $240

Damn... If I could fit 4 of these in a 2012R2 box that serves as a ESXi NFS datastore. It would be a big improvement over half a dozen spinning disks.

    Tesla Unveils Radical Cybertruck.

Tesla has good margins on their cars. The company was in the red for so long because they have huge CAP-EX and OP-EX while getting product lines up and running. It's less of an issue now that the model 3 is being produced full tilt, followed by the Y. But GF1 expansions, GF3 construction and...

    Tesla Unveils Radical Cybertruck.

Right. And Panasonic isn't investing in more equipment in GF1, even though Tesla is battery-constrained. GF1 has open space in it still, for Tesla to set up their own manufacturing process for batteries. Especially since the Maxwell process is supposed to consume something like 1/4th to 1/8th...

    Tesla Unveils Radical Cybertruck.

Stock is way down. I really REALLY should have trusted my instincts and sold before before the market closed. Then I could have bought back in and picked up another 10% of shares. Well, I think that they'll sell. Every single one they make. I think it also means that the 3-motor version is...

Next gen PS5, close to 2080 level

Dude, let it go. Just because it's not released doesn't mean it's imaginary. Was the mid engine Corvette imaginary 6 months ago? Do you think Sony and AMD just sit down and whip out a console in a week? Bet you they've been working with AMD regarding Ryzen in console for longer than ANY version...

    Intel 660p M.2 2280 1TB PCIe NVME SSD - $84.99 w/ code NEFPCA96

It's in the same ballpark as the other best priced 1TB nvme drives. I wouldn't run databases or a bunch of VMs off it in production. But some more space for a Steam drive like most of this forum is looking for?? Hell yes.

Yea, I'm in the boat hoping for another glut of decent server parts for cheap.

Google data center switching to AMD?

At some point it makes more sense to actually replace servers which are ~6 years old. Speed and power savings, without having to build a new DC around it. In that case, I would say they're replacing. I doubt they're pulling out Intel chips that they just installed.

DoorDash Says It’s Very Sorry You Noticed Its Tip-Skimming Scheme

While unemployment is low, the % of adults actually having or looking for work is STILL recovering from the recession of 2008. Select from years 1990 to 2019 and you'll see what I mean. If all those millions of people were actually considered in the...

Poll: AMD RX 5700 Series vs NVidia RTX Super. Which gets your money?

I'm lost because I haven't been paying attention. I would really need to see a price comparison laid out for each as well as an FPS comparison averaged over a dozen games. But then again, it's all moot. I'm using a 1080 and my kid with an outdated 7850 hasn't been saving for a replacement so he...

    64-Core Threadripper and ultra-HEDT X599 Coming End of 2019

I really want to just see clock for clock comparisons between the new 16 core desktop unit and the original 16 core Threadripper. Same base and boost speeds - I want to see how much of a difference the new process/node and the I/O die have made.

AMD X570 Chipset Blockdiagram Surfaces - Specs - PCIe 4.0 All The Way!

Shouldn't all this latest generation stuff support the new 2.5 and 5.0gbs standards over cat5e and cat6? If I can hit those speeds in the house I wouldn't care a lick about 10gbs. Well no, 10gbs is still awesome. But why isn't the new tech spreading?

    [Dead]Intel 660p Series M.2 2280 2TB PCI-Express 3.0 x4 3D $184.99 w/ code

You would have to fill and delete the whole 2TB 200 times over to get to the rated endurance of the disk. And we all know that disks can and will operate LONG past their rated endurance. If you use this as a Steam drive, something else in your PC will wear out faster than this disk.

AMD still clawing share from Intel

Cisco UCS for compute. 10gbs Fabric Interconnect and 10gbs Nexus 3k switching. Each chassis has 40gbs of bonded bandwidth, each host can get up to 20gbs of that. All is FCoE. NAS\Backups are a Rubrik with 4 bonded 10gbs links. Storage is a Pure all-flash array with (I think) 8 bonded 8gb FC...

AMD still clawing share from Intel

I would love to add their EPYC chips to our VMWare environment but then we couldn't vMotion (live migration) between the older Intel hosts and the new AMD ones. Plus, I don't even know if Cisco is going to release AMD chips into their UCS bade environment. I sure as hell would be making a...
